Great location, attractive and clean interior
The club-like atmosphere in the lobby - the restaurant and bar right next to where you check-in, making it really difficult to hear the staff. The bedroom was nice (std king) but an odd bathroom door with gap and a shower door for the loo… not so comfy for new couples!! The room was pretty small, bed relatively comfy - good shower. The breakfast was OK, but I’d expect a better quality of food given the hotel rating, the coffee was poor. Service a little haphazard. The parking is expensive and you have to get them to valet park otherwise it’s $56 as opposed to $36.

Great location and the room was very comfortable, staff were friendly.
While the staff were very friendly they did not appear to be well acquainted with the Hotel and it's offerings. On the website the Sutton offers Valet parking to seniors as a free service which we did not realize until after we booked. When we asked about this at service when checking in the staff seemed unacquainted with this and we were told that they couldn't do anything about it because we had not originally booked as seniors. We were not booked under any other discounts or packages at the time. It is great to see that the Sutton offers a deal to seniors however it was disappointing when staff is not acquaint or empowered to accommodate any requests which are not on the screen in front of them. Lots of blank stares and apologies.

Great location! Right downtown Halifax. The rooms were nice and clean. Very stylish too. You are steps within a LOT of great restaurants and coffee shops. The hallways were also very quiet. If people were coming and going we didn't hear them, unlike some other hotels we've stayed at in Halifax. Staff were efficient and friendly.
I've found this at most hotels these days - the pillows are HUGE! So thick it made it hard to sleep on without getting a kink in your neck. Also, the cabinets and closets had no lights in them - well, actually they did have lights, and I think they were supposed to turn on when you open the cabinet doors, but they were not working in the two rooms we had booked.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Sutton Place Hotel Halifax, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted by their friendly and professional staff, who went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and memorable. The hotel's prime location in the heart of Halifax made it incredibly convenient for exploring the vibrant city and its rich history. Just a short walk from the picturesque waterfront and an array of delightful restaurants, shops, and attractions. My room was beautifully appointed, spacious, and immaculately clean, offering all the modern amenities one could hope for. The plush bed provided a heavenly night's sleep. In addition, the complimentary Wi-Fi allowed me to stay connected and share my experiences with friends and family back home. In summary, my stay at The Sutton Place Hotel Halifax was remarkable. With its prime location, luxurious accommodations, outstanding dining options, and exceptional customer service, I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay in Halifax. I am already looking forward to my next visit!
The only complaint is that there was no complimentary breakfast, and the bathroom shower spills water all over, even with the shower curtain, so the floor cloth would get soaked.

Great value and spectacular amenities in a popular area that is surrounded by plenty of restaurants and bars. Easily walkable to the boardwalk. The superior queen is a two room suite with a huge bathroom. The toliet area has a privacy door with makes it more functional. The beds are super comfortable and the huge walk-in shower has a hand-held feature too which I appreciated. We hated to leave.
Popular downton area which means traffic and paid parking.

There was no breakfast, They have chop restaurant there. Went once for breakfast there. Poor service. We liked the hotel staff, and car service.
There was no breakfast, They have chop restaurant there. Went once for breakfast there. Poor service, got us coffees, then when we asked for cream, didn't see waitress again. Had to get our own. When meals came salt and pepper shakers were empty. Eggs benedict was tastlest. Should have coffee at front desk for guest, not having to buy from Chop restaurant.

Beautiful modern room. Nice, spacious room. Great bathroom with separate tub and shower, and closed off toilet. Room controls are cool. Nice view over the green hills of the citadel. Enjoyed spending three nights there. Located by lots of restaurants and close to sites—just a few blocks from wharf.
No real entrance off the street. It’s a little weird to always walk into the garage to go in the front door. But it’s no big deal, really.

Beautiful appointed hotel. Very chic. Great ambiance.
Dinner at the restaurant was awful. The prime rib tasted off. My husband asked the waitress about it and she said it was grass fed in Canada and beef tastes different there. My husband is a CIA trained chef. Meat should not taste like that anywhere. My husband experienced gastric distress later that evening. My cod was so over cooked, I couldn’t eat it. It was a disgusting meal. It was late, we were tired from traveling and didn’t have the energy to send back the food. We ate the vegetables and rice, left the restaurant hungry.

Lovely hotel at the top of the hill. Our room was perfect. Comfortable bed with a beautiful chandelier. Great sitting area. We loved the bathroom. Separate toilet area which is always a godsend! Great location. Walk down the hill and there is the waterfront. Very friendly valets for the car. They always opened the door into the hotel. This may help with your decision-2 lamborghinis parked at the hotel.
Walking up the hill!

Beautiful hotel within walking of Halifax attractions. Our room was beautiful and our view of the harbour and bridge an added treat. We ate in the Chop restaurant and really enjoyed the food. We had a waitress named Reese who is a delight and provided exceptional service. Used the valet service and found it fast and all the fellows so friendly and helped full in sorting out our driving routes. All in all would stay here again and again if in Halifax!
