Location, location, location. Located in the heart of Old Quebec, only a minute or two walk to the famous Chateau Frontenac. Parking near by ($22/24hours). In spite of the tiny size of the room it was very clean.

Not that it bothered me but I think the fact that the rooms aren't sound proof may bother some. Sounds of a baby crying in the night, plumbing, loud music, traffic and people having fun on the street may be something to consider if one isn't expecting it. Too me that was all part of the Old Quebec experience.

Very Close to restaurants, trinity church, the famous chateau Frontenac, furniculaire, le citadelle, hotel de Ville & Gare du Palais (via rail train station). Polina pizzaria is a few steps away from the hotel & it is our fave place to eat. Good food & Good prices too.

The shower head wasn’t working right. We told the front deck asap & plumber couldn’t come because it was a holiday & stores were close to get parts. We told the front desk they will have a big water bill. The water was more on the specket than in the shower head. It was frustrating.

The location was fantastic- I walked to everything in old town, as well as to the Plains of Abraham and Rue Champlain. Very sweet staff, everyone kindly spoke English to me as my french is VERY limited. The room was spotless, comfy, quiet, and overlooked Rue St Louis. There was a hidden parking garage directly across the road which was very helpful as no street parking in old town. $18/day in and out privileges and I was able to keep it from 3pm-3pm meaning after check out I had a place for my suitcase while I continued to explore. I greatly appreciate 'family owned' hotels and have a lot of time for the unique characteristics of them. Highly recommend for budget travelling.

Would have preferred a kettle in my room, but used the one in reception so all was not lost.

A very nice hotel right in the heart of Old Quebec. You'll have quick easy walking access to everywhere in Old Quebec you could want to go to. The staff are very friendly, you can tell they enjoy their job. Although check-in is a bit late you can drop off your luggage early when you arrive which was great for us. The beds were very comfortable. They use memory foam mattresses which I am not used to but it wasn't too firm. The rooms are a bit small but you won't be spending much time there aside from sleeping and bathing so it's really all that you need.

The soundproofing is poor so you can basiy hear everything in the rooms around you and in the hall but it's an old building so I expected that. If you want more privacy make sure you pay a bit extra to get a room with a shower, it's faily common for older locations like this to have a communal shower rather than one in your room, but even with your own shower you'll need to find opportune times to bathe cause the hot water runs out quick otherwise, but that was not a problem for us just a warning for anyone looking to book here or anywhere else in Old Quebec.

The location of the auberge is fantastic - very close to all main attractions. Also, the price you pay at this property for the location is great. My quiet room was very quiet indeed and had everything it needed. It was also clean. I also arrived out of hours but they emailed me how to get into the property and where to find my key beforehand so that went smoothly.

In general for the price I paid, I didn't expect a spacious room. The bathroom could have used another shelf to put your toiletries on it.

It is the perfect location, walking distance from old Quebec, no need for car. just pay for parking across street and all is walking 5 minutes from plaines Abraham, 2 min from Château Frontenac ect…all accessible. Many restaurants and boutiques close by…

it’s old, they renovated some rooms but not all, carpet needs to be changed in the corridor and they need to remodel, change some furniture. our mattress was new and very comfortable, a place just to sleep is perfect since you’re always out…I recommend owner to keep upgrading… change carpet and furniture and all rooms change floors like on the first floor, to keep the Auberge upgraded a little. For the rest it was perfect.

Location is premium! The room was simple and small but nice. We had a nice view with no noise which I originally feared.

The common bathroom could be cleaned a bit more often like changing the towel for drying your hands as at some occasions I didn’t feel like using it. Overall the hostel is not new but it was clean. Restaurants and bars right next to the hostel were very pricey which defeats somewhat the purpose to be so centrally located.

Great location, right in the middle of Old Quebec, very easy to explore the city by foot. The room was sufficient size, bunk bed was pretty ok. Shared washroom was fine, 1 person occupancy, you could lock it and have it for yourself to take a shower. The place was a great value for where you stay and what you get. I would stay again. It might not be for people looking for full comfort, great for solo/couple travellers.

Wifi was slower, my room was near stairs so not the most quiet. The hotel is older, could use some refresh in hallway/stairs.

The location couldn't be better, the hotel was clean, well run, friendly and the breakfast was wonderful, not only because it was good but because it was fun. Table arrangement was conducive to meeting people as was the whole hotel. There were comfortable places to sit and read or talk and the roof top balcony was great. The hotel was comfortable and created a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Can't think of anything.

I had a large room with en suite bathroom and a sitting area with two windows. Though it could have been noisy in the hall, it wasn't bad at all due to the "off season" timing of my visit; also, my room was in the back, away from the busy Rue St. Louis. The room was just what I needed.

Everything was excellent. There was a fridge, microwave, and kettle for tea/coffee in the lobby; it would be a great addition to have a small kettle with tea/coffee in the rooms, as in the UK. But that's just a wish.
