This boutique, friendly hotel is ideally located in the heart of Quebec City, a short walk to the historic old city and right on the main shopping/restaurant street. The staff are super friendly. The rooms are quaint but well appointed. We got an excellent location with large windows over the street at the corner of the property. There is coffee in room but also free access to a 'professional' machine in the lounge area. We did the provided walking tours and they were excellent.

Housekeeping comes by relatively early and if you have a Do-Not-Disturb sign on your door they will simply leave a "we missed you" note on the door. You can still request (and we did, successfully, though had to remind them once) cleaning after that, but otherwise you won't have your room cleaned that day.

I love the modern cozy room, the décor, the comfortable beds, the staff, and the absolutely wonderful restaurant next door! The lounge area is a huge plus where they have a serve yourself coffee/espresso machine, games, and a quiet area to sit and read. I loved everything about this hotel! It was exactly what we needed and exceeded our expectations!

There was nothing I did not like, however people should be aware that our bathroom shower was not walk-in. You must sit on the edge of the tub and swing your legs into, and out of, the the tub to shower. But once in, you have the choice of a handheld shower or one above at the ceiling. It was quite nice.

Great location, clean and modern room. Comfortable bed. Loved the bottles of filtered water replaced daily. Friendly staff was helpful with directions to take public bus to Montmorency Falls.

Our room only had one window and we had to keep the blind almost completely closed for privacy. As a result the room felt like a dark cave. Small bathroom with door awkwardly placed making it difficult for 2 people to use at once. Breakfast NOT included when booked with booking.com. I would have booked direct with the hotel if I had known this before, as many positive reviews about the breakfast basket. Housekeepers had loud voices in the mornings talking in the hallway outside our room!

First time to Quebec City and we were overwhelmed with the quality of the Hotel du Vieux-Quebec. From the moment we arrived until when we departed, it was a wonderful stay. We lived in Europe for almost nine years and visiting Quebec City rivaled our travels across France. The hotel staff was extremely friendly, answering any questions and making outstanding recommendations on where to eat and what to see. The room came equipped with a well thought out self guided walking tour of the upper and lower old towns, complete with historical commentary.

I wish I could offer suggestions for improvement, yet really can't think of any. Complete transparency on price, the bed was very comfortable, the room quiet and spacious and the bathroom was as good as any Hyatt or Hilton we have stayed in...it was flawless in presentation. The morning breakfast delivery to the room was a tremendous value.

We had an exceptionally good stay. The manager was a delightful man who helped us in every way--recommendations for sites to see, restaurants, etc. He moved my friend to another room when she expressed slight disappointment. The windows were soundproofed, so that we were on the street but in absolute silence. The lounge area was comfortable and inviting, with a high-end coffee station, lovely soft jazz/blues music, gas fireplace, fruit bowl and infused water. We couldn't have been happier with our stay here.

Nothing. This is a perfect little boutique hotel, right in the middle of old Quebe City.

A truly wonderful hotel Upon arrival I was delighted to find that I was able to check in early, and that I had been given a free upgrade. The room that I was placed in was quite spacious; more like a studio apartment than a hotel room. The furnishings, linens, and amenities were of the best quality, and the space even had a gas fireplace. Though it wasn't quite cold enough to use that, the evening was chilly. The heating system worked well and warmed the entire space in a matter of moments. I really liked the decor as well. The natural stone/slate made it feel homey. Though the building faces one if the busiest streets in Old Town, it was remarkably quiet. The location allows you to walk to all of the attractions in the city, and the train station as well. Lastly, the staff is fantastic. I interacted with three people at the front desk, and each of them was friendly, helpful, and professional. An absolute gem of a place, I heartily recommend staying here.

This hotel is located on one of the main streets within the fortified part of Quebec city. It's a short walk to the fortified walls, the Quebec parliament, Carnavale and Bonhomme's ice palace, Chateaux Frontenac, and the old lower Quebec City. The hotel is walk-able from the train station though it is a steep climb up so I would recommend a taxi ($7) if it's snowy or you have a lot of luggage with you. The hotel itself is in beautifully renovated, adjoined old buildings and many of the rooms feature walls that show off the old stone and wood that the original building was made from. The rooms are quiet, comfortable and updated with modern amenities. Our room had two queen beds, two reading chairs and a table, a desk with a chair, a bench and a large wardrobe. One of my favourite features of the hotel was their guest lounge where, again, they have joined the old-world construction with modern construction. It features couches, chairs, a fireplace, cafe tables, a separate dining table, books, board games, fresh fruit and an espresso machine that can make a variety of espresso based coffees. My family were in 3 separate rooms but would gather here in the evenings to play board games and warm up after long cold days of carnavale or sight-seeing. The staff at the hotel were all wonderful. They were very friendly, warm, and welcoming and were great for suggesting places to eat or things to see. We had many wonderful interactions with Pierrot who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. For example, one night while we were playing board games in the lounge he came in and offered to make us popcorn and hot chocolate for the kids.

The only thing that I didn't like were the pillows. I sleep face down and the pillows were a bit over-stuffed for my liking. I'm sure if I had bothered to call the front desk they would have tried to accommodate me but it wasn't a big enough deal for me to bother. Pro tip: they tuck the pillow cases to compress and firm up the pillows, but they can be untucked and made flatter.

Location was fantastic, hotel is right in Old Quebec City and is easily accessible to everything by foot. Staff (Vincent in particular) is very kind, knowledgeable and so accommodating. The room was very large, spotless, so quiet and very safe. Housekeeping staff kept the room very clean. Bed is large and comfortable. The lobby has an espresso/cappuccino machine which was a nice added touch. Vincent kept our luggage safe on our last day so that we could explore the city even after we had checked out. This hotel is a nice combination of an old facade with new and modern interiors. The staff are especially helpful and pleasant to interact with. The bed was comfortable, there were some English language channels available on the flat screen TV, the shower was good, and there was a table and a couple of chairs. The lobby offered free coffee and large bottles of water that you could use to fill your own individual water bottles- this was a very nice touch. It’s extremely well located, near shopping and restaurants.

Although there was a desk and a small table and chairs (nice), there were no drawers - no place at all to put your clothes, so you had to use the tables to open your suitcase and live out of that.

The hotel location was very convenient to numerous restaurants and shops. It was about a 5 minute walk to the Chateau Frontenac. It's also very close the train station but if you have luggage, I suggest taking a taxi due to steep hills.

The hotel entrance is a bit awkward as it is shared with a restaurant. We did not opt for the breakfast basket delivery due to price and the convenience of a wonderful bakery right up the street.
