Manoir Sur le Cap

This clean quiet hotel is perfectly situated across a garden from the Chateau Frontenac. We stayed in room number one, which is located in the first floor at the front of the hotel. We could see the Chateau from our window, but we weren’t disturbed by street noise, even during the summer music festival taking place on the Plains of Abraham nearby. Staff were very friendly, beds were comfortable and it was lovely to stay in a historic building within the walls of Old Quebec City.

We liked everything about the property. We were very sad to leave and definitely plan to return.

I love the location of the Manoir sur le Cap on the upper end of Ville-Haut, facing the park and with view of the river. I had one of the tiny rooms, with sunny balcony and view of the river, which was perfect for me as I was traveling alone. If I would go with a second person I would book one of the bigger rooms with view of the park. I had a room on the lower floors, which is convenient as the stairs are very steep. If I would return I would definitely come back to this cute hotel as I love the location, facing the park, view of the river, and easy to reach everything. À bientôt.

What is there not to like? I pretty much liked everything. Perhaps a little microwave would sometimes be convenient.

Very quaint little boutique hotel in the heart of Downtown (within the city wall). Just steps away from all the shops, restaurants and Citadel. We had a king room on the 2nd floor with views of the park.

I’d recommend staying on the 1st or 2nd floor as there’s not an elevator. there’s also a few rooms with wall out patio/balconies that I’d stay at next time. No parking, but there is a parking garage very close by (3 min walk). Amenities were great ..real milk for the coffee in room etc. The only complaint I’d have is the bar soap for bathroom(shower/sink) it’s very tiny and good for only a day (lol not a big deal)

The location cannot be beat. I walked out and got coffee in the morning nearby and wandered the Dufferin Terrace, and we could even see the Chateau out of our window! Our room and bathroom were both very clean, which put me at ease after a not-so-clean AirBnB stay in a different city the days previously…air conditioning worked well in the rooms also. If you plan to bring heavy luggage, be warned there is no elevator. There is only someone at the desk from 9 AM-9 PM, which worked fine for us but is also something to note if you’re looking for more of a full service hotel. The staff was very accommodating-we could leave our bags by the front desk a bit after checking out. I’m not sure about the other rooms, but our room on the top floor had plenty of space and character and the bathroom had all modern fixtures. The room had a mini fridge but no microwave. The walls are thin as it is an older building. Overall, we loved our stay at Manoir Sur Le Cap.

The rooms aren’t the most secure, but the area is safe and I didn’t worry about my things.

Exceptional staff, especially the young, stylish, gracious French Canadian Woman - she took care of mon petite amiee and me without exception!!! The owner, not so much as she and her husband were a bit stand offish and tepid and I am fluent in Chinese, English and French.

The only minor problem - when reception is not staffed - understandably so when they are not busy - there is no access to ice for the room and there is no shop in the surrounding 30 minute walk that sells ice. A local hotel supplied us with some at no charge, and we left a gracious cash tip.

Great location within walking distance of all the Old Quebec City sites, shops and restaurants! Lots of character with the age of the hotel and the creaky floors are part of the charm and location.

The mattress could have been a bit less firm for my liking :) and a continental breakfast option would have been a nice option too. Parking right beside the hotel is very limited.

Location was amazing for the price! It was our first time staying at a hotel particulier because we normally go to popular big chains like Marriott, but we really enjoyed our stay. Was super close to restaurants and right in the core of Old Quebec.

Parking space, but we knew about this coming and were warned about not having dedicated parking space on the hotel description online. We were reminded several times where to find a public parking space nearby for our car, which was helpful.

The location was fantastic. The view from our room was very nice. The rooms were a nice size. Beds were comfortable. We were coming into town via train and the staff was very accommodating with our arrival time. Would definitely stay here again. Photos included are quick ones I took as we were gathering linens at the end of our stay. The room was well put together and clean when we arrived.

Nothing. We had no issues. Everything was great. Everyone was so friendly.

This hotel has character and is perfectly located close to the Chateau. Car parking is available and the staff are friendly and helpful. The view from our room was great!

There was no room service or cleaning for the three nights we stayed there and reception is only periodically manned. This maybe as it was the quiet season (April).

we liked the room large and comfy location was great. bed was big and comfy with plenty of pillows the bathroom was samll but had all we needed and we loved the big old fashioned bath tub. the view from the windows was good the pasrk and the hotel Frontenac lit at night was so very nice.
