I loved the stay. It was so cool being in an old monastery. Close walking distance to Vieux Quebec. I liked that it was so quiet and they had meditation and yoga and walks and activities to participate in - even though I didn't participate in any of them. I stayed in a single room with shared bathrooms down the hall. I was a little bit hesitant booking a shared bathroom but it was the best price in Vieux Quebec when i booked. There was a sink in my room though and there was always a private bathroom available and they were always clean and well kept, so I was happy with my choice.

I kept getting lost looking for the right (Charlevoix) exit and how to get around in general. There could be a few more signs perhaps.

We stayed in one of the traditional rooms with two twin beds and a shared bathroom. The room was clean and cozy (the beds and pillow were very comfortable- and loved the little touches like the quilt on the bed and the robes) Was a little curious how it would be sharing a bathroom with the floor, but there was always one available when I needed it, and always very clean. Healthy and quiet breakfast every morning was wonderful. I especially enjoyed the grounds, they were so peaceful and beautiful after walking around the busy streets of Quebec. My only suggestion would be more benches/ places to sit (and maybe a yoga class on the grounds?). My only regret was not making time for a yoga class and a massage. I also missed not hearing the choir singing- as I understood it, the nuns were on summer holiday while we were there. Thank you for preserving a beautiful rich historic building and allowing us to appreciate it!

The atmosphere is serene being in the city centre. It's easy to explore the city from here and catch the bus if you need to head out of old town. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with storage space for all your belongings. Everything about the monastery is perfect, my favorite is the breakfast, reflective room and their amazing variety of inhouse tea blends. The shared bathrooms are cleaned several times a day, every time I used them it seemed they were just cleaned.

I would've liked more information about the services they provided - tour, massages, yoga, meditation. I didn't learn about the offerings until the end of my trip

Hotel is super super quiet: you will not hear a noise during your stay. Location is excellent, breakfasts are simple but quite healthy (don't expect scrambled eggs, bacons and such but fresh fruit, oat based things, etc.). Staff at the reception are really nice and polished and staff at the breakfast room are discrete and efficient. Silence is gold even during meals.

Contemporary rooms are really tiny, even for one person. Stays <2 days will not get cleaned in favor of some ecological bull which I could not care less about: I find it unpleasant to return to my room and find the bed undone and the towels still humid.

I chose an authentic room which meant I stayed in a smaller room with a twin bed. By the way, the bed was very comfortable. The shared bathrooms are at the end of the hall. The shower facilities are separate and have a door that locks giving you full privacy with plenty of hot water. The monastery is also a sightseeing stop as they have a museum and a lot to see. The location was great, a short walk to / from the train station and close enough to walk to everything in Quebec at the top of the hill and a few blocks from the City Hall. The breakfast each morning was delicious and I really enjoyed eating in silence, it was refreshing. The staff were also excellent and supremely helpful.

I wish I knew there were two entrances, I walked around the property my first two days to use the entrance off Rue des Remparts instead of using the one off of Rue Charlevoix.

The breakfast was very good - I had to ask specially for coffee cream each morning but otherwise it was delicious and ambiance was wonderful. The rooms were very clean and the bathrooms were well kept up with cleanliness. One shower on the authentic week did leak out onto the floor each time so maybe a repair is needed.

The tour guides were fantastic but I wish the video playing in the background of nuns had subtitles so I could understand. Yoga teacher was great but the vaults area could have a bit more ambiance maybe with candles or softer light. Seemed cold and hard down there in the vaults.

Wonderful breakfast. Very healthy and tasty. Plenty to eat and lots of variety in fresh fruit.Breakfast is taken in silence which seemed odd for the first time but is actually very nice and relaxing and a great start to the day. Hotel wonderfully clean and very comfortable. Lovely peaceful ambience. Beautiful historic building, staff very friendly and helpful. Treatments/consultations excellent.

Rooms are not particularly large but are a fair size, very clean and comfortable.

In reference to the bonus question about our expectations, the property exceeded our expectations, we did not have expectations, were were not familiar with the additional services as it was a last minute reservation. We have recommended the facility to friends and family. I initially thought it was higher in price compared to other hotels due to proximity to Old Quebec, I would like to return and schedule time for the additional spa and meals. We did purchase the 1639 scented sprays and items as well as an apron..... Great facility

I did not have a full understanding of the meditation room / dining room , what was available to us at the facility; it could be because I am english and my wife is french. I would like to book the spa next time and plan to utilise the facility more.

Location, integrity for the historical value it’s wanting to share! Well laid out and sharing of the artifacts was amazing. The guided tour was amazing & full Rich of facts!

We are sadden to see is the eventual loss of this important sisterhood! They need to find a way to keep it active. Their are young people who could learn from & who need what this faith / purpose stands for! No one should give up!!

I was a bit skeptical when my son suggested we stay here. The rate for 3 nights was quite high. However, this is the CLEANEST place I've ever stayed in, and I travel a LOT!! From the time we opened the door, until we left 3 days later, I couldn't believe how comfortable and quiet our stay was. There is no TV or radio, but that is a good thing. Wi-Fi was very good. Beautiful deep bathtub that was so nice to use. Been ages since I've seen one like it. Pretty-well everything is within walking distance, given your health and stamina. There are fantastic pubs and restaurants, stores of all kinds within a 3-minute walk. My hat is off to the staff that keeps this old ex-convent in such immaculate condition! Many could take a lesson from them! The in-house museum was also very nice and worth the time to visit (Free to guests). The staff were just a pleasure to deal with. Parking is very good ($25/night) and semi-secure.

The iron leaked, and the ironing board was in need of repair (Probably something that gets used little). The breakfast wasn't quite my style, personally, but others may love it. Other than that, everything was great!
