After so many anonymous places, it is a joy to find a place with so much character! We especially enjoyed the wide corridors, the huge room with its high ceiling and its big windows overlooking the street, the overall decoration. It is ideally located in the middle of downtown, and we were able to walk to the Remai Modern Museum, to restaurants (even though the hotel offers a choice of two restaurants!) and to the Fringe Festival. The staff was pleasant and informative, and, even though we did not expect it, a simple continental breakfast was served in a charming octagonal room.

While we visited on Holiday days, we were lucky to have free parking on the street, the hotel parking at the back being a bit cramped

Staff were amazing. They were very friendly, courteous and accommodating, including pet friendly. They even answered our questions about the beautiful historical building and gave us a tour. The hotel building, rooms and decor were amazing. Like travelling back in time or visiting somewhere in old Europe. Its not just the architecture - the attention to detail in how all the furniture and art work was set up was clearly evident. I found the interior more impressive than say the much larger, pricier Delta Marriott down the street. There is also a very nice patio, breakfast room and restaurants directly accessible from the hotel downstairs.

Limited food options in the area later in the evening once the pub and restaurant close. Also you probably should be careful about what you leave in your car, though we had no problems.

Location (if you like to be in the heart of everything ) comfortable. It isn’t new but that is the charm of it. Has a medieval feel to it. Super homey tho. Nice bar and restaurant inside and as well another fancier steak house. I like it better than the steak at chop. I stay here every time I stay in the city now. Used to stay in the north end near all the hotels that way but I really like this place better. May not be as new and fancy but I feel more comfortable in this place.

Some bathrooms in the rooms are dated. Some are updated. It depends on the room you get. Can be loud and isn’t much parking.

History of hotel and artifacts...front desk person Dennis gave us a tour of rooms and basement brewery. He was very informative, knowledgeable and pleasant!! Easy access to attached pub. The outside terrace on 2nd floor we discovered ourselves. We met other hotel guests there and had a great time!

Upon arrival, pressed ringer to enter front entrance but no response, so had to enter thru pub which was awkward with luggage. Bathroom tub has no grab bar inside tub and rubber mat. This is dangerous for elderly people to access and feel safe entering and exiting tub. The toilet kept over running, had to lift lid to fix. The TV did not work (but we were ok without it)!

The room was small but OK. It was clean. I liked the small fridge in the room.

Parking is horrible. The hotel has only a few reserved parking spaces in the back alley. It is hard to find any parking spaces on the street. The bathroom didn't have a wall plug for shaving or hair drier. The building is really old and you can hear noise from other rooms. Continental breakfast is better not to mention at all. It was literally nothing. A couple of muffins and yogurt. Elevator broke down and didn't get fixed while I stayed.

The old style building was nice and the atmosphere in the Pub and restaurant were excellent. The food and service in the restaurant was top notch. The beds were very comfortable. The rooms were clean and had many amenities. Staff were very helpful.

The Service in the Pub was terrible and it wasn't full when we were there. Many dirty tables and slow service. The bathrooms in the rooms were dated and the toilets were too low. I never could figure out what the switch at the door was for.

the hotel is old but it is full of character. the location is amazing. 3 min walk to second cup or Starbucks. 2 places to eat right in the hotel. plenty of stores near by. cute balcony on second floor above entry to sit and enjoy the city. The rooms are not fancy but they are clean and the beds are comfy. sheets were white and clean. could use some carpet and bathroom updates. the art in the halls is neat. it is like going back in time.

a bit run down. not very updated.

Very friendly, staff went above and beyond extra blanket, always enough towels. Call at 4 am looking for a place they answered. Need to extand my room they made it happpen. They knew what I liked and cared. Superb.

I stayed for an extended period of time. Wish a little bit more variety in free breakfast. I know it's an older hotel, and a hook inside shower would be an asset. But for us it worked great.. better than many newer hotels, and I stayed almost 3 weeks.. Thank you all.

Cool architecture! Lots of interesting furniture and art. Has lots to do in and near the building. Rooms are very comfortable. Even though it is an old building it is a nicer stay then the higher end hotels. Also a walk by the river is only 5 minutes away. My new fav place to stay when in the city.

Smells old in some areas. Can be loud if you want a quiet night (I didn’t mind ) as there is a pub down stairs and there is always sidewalk music near by.

The room was clean and very comfortable and being an old building with thick walls, quiet. The location is downtown Saskatoon, within walking distance of many destinations. Breakfast was simple but adequate.

The parking is a mess. There are maybe 15 spots for the whole hotel, most of them in two rows with the second row blocking in the first. Everything else around it is metered street parking.
