We liked the space, the cleanliness, the staff, and the breakfast. The suite was well appointed and spacious. Eli's Restaurant produces excellent food. Leonardo was professional and very helpful, as ware all of the staff members we encountered.

The WIFI was inoperative a couple of times but it came back on within a half hour or so. Our only other problem was outside, and the hotel had no control over it. On the corner of Calle 12 and Carretera 4, there was a lot of garbage, the smell of urine and a few rather unsavory locals. This corner was less than 100 meters away. Once we realized that, we always turned toward Carretera 3 when we left the hotel. Although nobody approached us on the corner of 12th and 4th, it was slightly unsettling. But as I said, this was beyond the control of Casa Carolina.

This beautifully arranged hotel is located in the center, but we did not have problems with noise (try to ask in advance for a room that does not look at the street). Pools are great for relaxing after the day in the heat, and they serve meals next to the pools, or you can grab a drink. Room is very comfortable, with aircon, large bed, lots of space. The location is very convenient - 10 mins on foot from bus stop for Tayrona, 10-15 mins on foot to the marina, and even less to the central squares, some small shops around. Breakfast is nice and varied, we had dinner in the restaurant once as well - affordable, but waited for food long.

Beautiful small hotel.  Rooms are a good size, clean, lovely decor. Bathroom is clean and huge and I love the plants along the wall!  Mattresses are extremely hard....like sleeping on the floor, for me it wasn't that bad as I like firm, but it was tough on my husband.  Turns out they were pillow tops but flipped upside down. Staff is friendly and speak quite good English. The pool is lovely.  The one on the main floor is lovely, good temperature.  The smaller one on the top floor is like a large hot tub and because it's on the roof and small, it heats up, so it's very warm.  The gentleman who takes care of the pool every morning does a great job as the pool is very clean. They have free filtered water available all day for guests. We filled up our water bottles as needed.  Great not having to worry about going out and buying bottled water. The wifi in the rooms is brutal. Videos take forever to load and can't get streaming services at times, even just going to websites takes a while and might not always work.  Not a big deal most of the time if you're on vacation, but could affect people if they need to work.  Ate at the restaurant for dinner one of the nights and it was quite good.  The waitress was lovely and the food was tasty and reasonably priced for a nice meal.  The guac was especially delicious!

Great service by staff, the decor was beautiful, all appliances worked perfectly. Very clean and organized! Food was fresh and at a great price, bar staff and cooks are very nice! Front staff met all our needs and were very cordial and kind.

The food/Bar service should be extended pass the current time. Also for the HOT TUB and Pool...people that visit are on vacation more than likely, we want to stay up later in a safe nice hotel... The street noise was very obnoxious and loud throughout our trip day and night! Smoking should be permitted in a safe designated outside space, the only option offered is out in a very dark scary street and there is not even ashtrays. On-site parking not available.

Lovely hotel, great facilities including different small pools and lots of seating areas dotted around the hotel. Rooms are a good size and have everything you need. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Although the hotel is central, the area is not particularly safe so the staff recommended getting taxis after dark.

This hotel is amazing. It is like an oasis hidden within the city centre. The hotel is beautifully decorated and styled. Everything is beautiful to see and experience. It has four small pools on different floors, which makes the whole experience amazing. The breakfast is very tasty and diverse, full of local cuisine. I also had lunch and dinner, and they offered nice, tasty options. My room was big and spacious, with a nice bed, a balcony, and a very big and nice shower. My room also has a small fridge, which is very nice. The hotel offers complimentary coffee/tea and water the entire day, which is a very nice touch. All the staff was very nice and friendly.

I did not like three things. The first is that during the weekend, it is very noisy outside with loud music (at least in the room I was in), so you need to sleep with earplugs. The second is that the pillows are very hard, so if you like fluffy pillows, it is annoying. The third one is that you cannot smoke in the balconies, which I think is annoying as they are in the open air. But probably most people will actually consider this a positive thing. However, none of these things will stop me from staying in this beautiful hotel.

Overall this was a wonderful little oasis in a chaotic city. It has a relaxing vibe, and we enjoyed the pools, a massage, and the tasty food. Our room was on the third floor and the staff carried up our suitcases for which we were very grateful. We had views over the city and all in all would recommend staying here.

Our room wasn’t ready for about an hour after check-in time even though we had arrived a bit early. We had some issues adjusting the freezing air conditioning in the room also, but once it was turned off and back on, we were able to turn it up a little.

The room was much larger than I thought. I thought it would be small but it was a good suite. It had a fridge, stovetop, sink, and a large enough living room space, and the bedroom was nice. I had a room on the third floor which was nice. The location is pretty great as you are close enough to the historical center area and you can get to the many attractions pretty easily. There were also ready and available taxis outside of the hotel. The AC was also great since it was 31c/90f the time I was here.

My only complaint is that the bed was stiff but it was fine once you got used to it.

The design of the hotel is super stylish and interesting, there are two pools and two jacuzzis on the property. It’s like a little oasis right in the center of Santa Marta, the beach is only 3 minutes walking time away. Also the staff was always really friendly and helpful! Our room was super nice and spacious and the bathroom as well<3 What we also loved was the hotel restaurant where we enjoyed a wonderful dinner as well as the breakfast that was included in the price. We would 100% come back if we come to Santa Marta again:)

2 blocks around the hotel are many beggars and really poor people who often ask travellers for money - but this is rather a Santa Marta problem🤷🏼‍♀️

Casa Carolina is a nice hotel located in the centre of Santa Marta and hence close to cafes, restaurants and supermarkets. The breakfast in the hotel is super rich with various tasty options. We all truly enjoyed it. The staff at the reception is helpful and kind. We had two different rooms and both rooms very spacious and with all necessities one may need. There is a teracce on teh second floow with nice sofa-cushions to chill out. The central swimming pool is divine.

The rooms were dark and somewhat humid. At the corner of the street which lead to the hotel, there is a large pile of rubbish which doesn't fit with the elegance of the hotel.
