I loved the area and the view as well sleeping in a tent. It was way cooler during the night then sleeping in a room in town. I like Camping so I didn’t mind that the place is not a 4 star place. try to wake up early for the sunrise, it’s nice

The fridge should be replaced as the freezer door is broken. So everything you put into the fridge will freeze no matter where you put it. Which is with fruits and vegetables complicated. They go bad when they antifreeze. The kitchen needs an update, we where 2 people alone there and if someone would have wanted to cook it would have been impossible as there was not much to cook with as well no bowls to park food in between. Keep in mind that it is far away from La Fortuna and a car or scooter would be much better.

The host is very accommodating and willing to help create the most enjoyable camping experience. The kitchen is great and bathrooms are functional. The rooms are perfect size (for two) and a great view of Arenal volcano.

The kitchen was furnished very nicely, the only thing missing were bowls. We used the mugs provided but bowls would be a nice addition. There also was no lighter for the propane stove. These are minor issues and did not impact the overall enjoyment of the stay.

We ended up spending 4 nights in this beautiful place. The best view of the volcano we saw in Fortuna was from our own tent! Plenty of colorful birds hanging out, view of the lake and volcano. All facilities are modest, but everything you need - toilet, kitchen, lights ind the tents and gets cleaned and tidied ever day. The breakfast was plenty and filling - we could even skip lunch. So if you enjoy a rest from the fuss and buzz of touristed areas, though still being close to the attractions of the area, like the public hot springs and the national park, this is your place to go!

The area is beautiful, you can hear lots of birds singing. It is very peaceful with nice people there. We stayed in the bungalow and it was spacious. Salomon was nice and helpful.

It is not about the property but you should be aware that if you are going there without a car it can get complicated to get to different places. Über many times canceled the ride as it is far from La Fortuna. If you can get one it is quite pricey. There is only one bus 6:50 in the morning and one in the afternoon around 5 p.m, which can be 6 sometimes.

We loved everything about this camp site! The location is beautiful, so peaceful, with a beautiful view of Arenal Lake & Volcano. Salomón and his wife are really friendly and helpful, they cooked a wonderful breakfast of gallo pinto. Salomón provided fab local information and connected us with great local Uber drivers to help us get around. We stayed 2 nights in the new hut, which was extremely comfortable, with a fantastic view out the window!! We added another night because we were enjoying the site so much! We asked if we could move into a tent for the final night, which Salomón really kindly arranged! The tents also have an extremely comfortable bed, and both accommodations were so so clean and lovely! The view from the tent was beautiful. There is a great little kitchen, with a fridge, hob and saucepans. There's a convenience shop 5min walk away, and in the little town (30min walk) you can get more fresh produce. It was lovely cooking here and eating with the volcano view. The toilet and shower were clean. Obviously the shower has cold water (it is camping!) but the heavy stream of water makes the cool water more bearable! I actually quite enjoyed the refreshing shower! Do remember to bring bug spray - we bought some at the local convenience shop and were thankful for it! But otherwise, it's a REALLY comfortable campsite. (Uploaded photos show the view from both the hut and the tent)

The location of this place is quite amazing. The campground is on higher ground which makes the view of the volcano spectacular. The kitchen was well equipped, there was even a coffee maker! Salomon was very kind and helpful. The kittens were also very cute. I would recommend for a nice time in nature outside of La Fortuna.

The owner treat us very nicely. Good indications how to get to the property, even if is a bit muddy when is raining. But for people who are looking for camping 🏕️ is a good way. The tent was amazing, big and the bed was really comfortable also, the little terrace with chair and table with the lake and Vulcano view was just amazing 🤩

The kitchen could have been a little bit more equiped especially the floor to be flat would have been great.. Separate toilets from kitchen would be a great idea!

Our windy rainy nights with a tarp that had some tears in it and a tent zipper that wasn’t working meant we had some water In our tent. When mentioned, our host worked to fix it right away. Adding a bench to put bags on will help prevent them from getting wet if rain seeps through the edges of the tent.

From the moment we booked, Solomon was the perfect host, and is a huge part of what makes this place such a hidden gem. He and his family made us feel right at home. For 2 nights of camping, it was super comfy and relaxing. We couldn't have asked for anything better. The sights, the sounds, the views, the morning breakfast, and the pure bliss we got from this place was worth every penny. It was an incredible and memorable experience for sure!

The location, the view, and even more so the host were amazing. Salomón is very resourceful, and keen to help, and his partner Patricia as well. It felt very nice to get breakfast served at our tent in the morning with good Costa Rican coffee. We had a wonderful time here at Rustico.

You have to organize transportation in the morning as it's not right in the city, but it's very easy and that's the price to pay for everything nice that comes from being in the quiet and peaceful nature.
