We really enjoy our 3 night stay at Hotel Campo Verde. It had everything we were looking for and was situated just a 10 minute drive from La Fortuna in the direction of Arenal National Park. It has surreal views of Arenal Volcano, and a wonderful 2km walking trail on the property. The beds were super comfortable, shower pressure and temperature good. We enjoyed the outside patio and my partner thoroughly enjoyed birding around the property - seeing more birds there than all the national parks we have visited! We had one of our meals opposite the property and really enjoyed the steak and chips! We also recommend visiting the nearby local soda for a cheap lunch, and the free hot springs down the road. For great coffee and views, visit Cafe Metropoli nearby!

Our experience at Campo Verde was fantastic. We wish we stayed longer! Location was nice and quiet and rooms were comfortable. The view of the volcano and the jungle surrounding it was the best part. Waking up to sit on the porch and watch the hummingbirds and take in the beauty of the area was surreal! The property has a hike in the jungle as well that we did one morning (~1hr walk). A bit more rough of a trail compared to what can be found in the National Park, but still a lot of birds and wildlife to see. Breakfast was a continental style buffet breakfast, with some North American and Costa Rican items that we found was fairly good.

The trade off of being in a more remote, quiet spot is that the location is a bit further out from La Fortuna and where most of the good restaurants are. The surrounding area does have some restaurants, but we found that they were lower quality and a bit more money. For us this was not an issue, but if you do not have a car, or are looking the hustle and bustle of the town, it may be.

The view was fantastic at Hotel Campo Verde. I loved hearing all the animals outside, even if they did keep me up a lot during the night! Breakfast was great, and the front desk people were so great to help with booking our tours. We also appreciated the trail on property and loved exploring!

The only complaint I had was that our shower nozzle stopped working one morning, and because I was already halfway through my shower, I had to squat down and use the faucet to finish the job. I actually thought it was hilarious and made for a great story later!

Stayed here about 5 years ago, price has gone up, but it is still a great place to stay. Incredible views of the volcano. Fantastic for birding, with great trails just behind the cabins. A sloth was present as well. We had no car, so had to uber everywhere; not too much close by (there is a restaurant across the street, but it was being renovated while we were there). Breakfast is great. Definitely recommend, particularly if you have a car.

Location out of town is nice and quiet, but not having a car means you need to go off property for meals other than breakfast.

Lovely cabins looking towards the clouds of Arenal Volcano. Breakfast was really quite good. Birding is good in the gardens. cabins are nice and private.

Getting built up around the property, with food and hotels. Our toilet was plugged when we got back from our day and dinner. It was 9:05. The office closed at nine. we wahtsapped and phoned to no avail. No toilet overnight was not convenient. We picked up a plunger at the office in the morning.

The room was clean and pretty big (also bathroom). The beds were also very comfy. The view of the room window was amazing! the hotel is locatd a little bit outside La Fortuna, but perfec for reaching it and all other activties around. Would recommend and would stay again.

The fridge had a weird smell, probably someone left some old fruits in it ( was cleaned before we arrived). It was not very disturbing since we did not really use the fridge.

Location was great - quiet area between Tobacon and La Fortuna in Arenal, so it was not in the busy touristy part but still close enough to all the activities. Loved that we had our own standalone “cabin” where we can go in and out to the gardens. Brian at the front desk was super helpful - he went out of the way to translate for me when I had to call veterinarians around Costa Rica, and made a lot of great recommendations of things to do not just in Arenal area

We stayed in the junior suite cabin. And it is NOTHING like the photos you see here on booking.com. It is actually much nicer. The photos show an old outdated bathroom but it was actually very modern and obviously updated since whenever those photos were taken. The shower is large, had hot water and good water pressure. The beds were comfy and clean. there was an armoire with hangers and shelves for clothes. There was also a dresser for clothes as well. The mini fridge does work, you just have to turn it on when you get in the room (they are trying to converse on energy). the coffee maker was small but it did the job. they provide daily coffee grounds for you but the guy at the front desk gave us some extras. the guy who works the check in desk is super friendly and polite. he gave us excursion options and definitely had a lot of knowledge about the area. We decided to go horseback riding and he set everything up for us. he was more than willing to help and we definitely give him 5 stars for his great customer service. the breakfast was decent. it was a buffet style with a couple different options. they also have a trail on the property that goes through the rainforest. i walked it a couple times during my stay and really enjoyed watching LONG trail of leaf cutter ants. the property is beautiful and very well maintained and isn’t super close to Fortuna so street noise isn’t a problem. We rented a car so we just drove back and forth into town. it was only a 5 mile drive or so and driving in La Fortuna is easy.

unfortunately, I was under the impression it had a view of Arenal from the cabins but it’s blocked by the forest. BUT, they do have an excellent view of the volcano where you check in and eat breakfast, though. So it’s only a couple steps away from the cabins.

Large spacious room with all you might need during your stay, big comfortable beds. Breakfast was rather good, but can get a bit boring if you stay for a long time. The hotel location is perfect, just between Arenal park, hot springs and La Fortuna.

It would be nice to add mosquito repellent devices, as there are a lot of mosquitoes/bugs in the evening.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Reaponded to all requests. Great location 5 minutes drive from La Fortuna. Well appointed, spacious rooms with kitchenette and great views of the volcano (on clear days). Cleaned daily. Lovely grounds. Great breakfast with good selection of cereal, fruit, bread, eggs, ham and pinto gallo. Coffee, tea, juice. Peaceful location yet close to everything, including a great Korean/Japanese restaurant next door!

Breakfast is served until 9am. A bit early in our book as my husband likes to sleep in on vacation.
