The property was absolutely beautiful. The villas must have some of the best views of Arenal volcano in the whole town. The location is tucked away from the main strip and all of the other tourist lodges, making it feel unique and secluded. Falling asleep to the forest sounds is so serene. The place is right across the street from Mistico Hanging Bridges and a short drive from all attractions. I recommend renting a car for your trip, as a taxi/Uber would be inconvenient and the flexibility is worth it. The roads are all great, though getting to the lodge can be a little steep and winding (nothing bad though). Floor to ceiling windows in the shower is a unique touch. The staff is very nice and the views unmatched.

More pros than cons, but the only things that could be improved is 1) the amenities 2) the breakfast location. There is not really a place to “hang out” outside of your villa. No resort type amenities, which was totally fine with us. Just don’t come with that expectation. Also, breakfast is a short ride/walk up the road which can be a little inconvenient if you like to roll out of bed and walk right to breakfast. Also, the place is in the forest. With floor to ceiling windows and all of that privacy, you may find a few bugs make their way in. However, this did not bother us and was expected in such a wooded area.

Incredible location, the rooms felt like they were built on treetops, providing amazing views of the Arenal volcano and the jungle. We arrived there after a long flight and drive and Francesco’s welcome was warm and friendly, we instantly felt that they would take good care of us! He offered us some cold coconuts as a refreshment and helped with all our questions upon check-in and even later through WhatsApp. The room had all needed amenities and probably one of the best bathtub views I’ve ever seen. A huge plus was the room’s great insulation - even though the room is between trees and on top of the jungle, no bugs got in which was a first during our trip in Costa Rica. I loved how in the nature surrounding the houses we were able to spot a sloth, a white-nosed coati and some colibiris!

Our hammock/ swing was missing upon arrival cause previous guests damaged it. However the team, managed to bring us a new one from the other room early in the morning, so I guess that’s also a positive!

Amazing hotel. The views are mind blowing. The bathrooms are spectacular with a full glass wall overlooking the jungle. there are mesh windows above the glass windows allowing the sounds of the forest in, whilst keeping the critters of the forest out. The staff were great. Each day the rooms were cleaned and each day a different animal was made from the towels, a touch my girlfriend enjoyed. At night we fell asleep looking out of the enormous window, spotting fire flies. I’d definitely stay here again.

We had a car so it didn’t bother us but one is definitely required. The property is basically located in Mistico park near the reception which is up a 2km hill. Being so close to Mistico was great for many of our excursions however.

The view is unbeatable and the nest swinging chair is so comfy. The breakfast options are good, even though one option is abit away and you might need to be taken by golf cart. The location is perfect for visiting Mistico Hanging Bridges.

It was strange that the bathroom had open air but the rest of the room did not. So we had to keep the bathroom door closed to make sure our air con was working fully. I wouldn't spend your whole trip here because it is expensive to taxi to La Fortuna and back and there isn't anything to do in the area besides Mistico Park.

For over 30 years I travel the world - and during this time I saw a lot of hotels. But I can honestly say that the Sangregado Lodge is one of the hotels I liked the best. First, the view is amazing. You wake up and you have a look at the amazing volcano. Or you can have a bath with a view! Second, you are surrounded by nature. You hear all the time the sound of nature! Third, the personell is highly professionell and you can reach them all the time, e.g. when you want to order sushi or in case you have a question. Fourth, it is very clean and comfortable! Great bed! The breakfast you have to take in a nearby restaurant - very tasty. My conclusion: perfect stay! Go there!

Nothing. All is perfect.

The rooms were clean and nicely decorated and we had a beautiful view of the volcano. The proximity to the hanging bridges was also great and having 2 breakfast restaurant options was also a nice bonus. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend!

Excellent views, great place for a meal or a drink. Friendly staff very hospitable. Good yoga classes. Short walk to bar Olgas and restaurant La Luna. Shuttle into North Guianes. Short drive to see turtles with guide. Excellent sunset restaurant called Coyol a 30 minute steep drive away but worth it. Sangregado is an excellent base.

location was perfect for exploring the hanging bridges and the volcano area. very helpful staff. good quality fixtures in the accommodation which were appreciated at the end of a long day in the outdoors.

A little remote if you don’t have your own transport Shuttle to nearby hotel appreciated. some kind of common area to relax in would be a great addition to the site, as would a pool.

Sangregado Lodge is located on the outskirts of La Fortuna area. You can see all kinds of animals and birds roaming free right on the property! Enjoy rain forest and Arenal volcano views right from your bed. Good selection for breakfast. The hotel is located next to Mistico Hanging Bridge park. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Dinner at near by restaurant was expensive and food was ok at best.

The whole stay was fabulous! Helpful staff, clean rooms with the BEST views, and we felt safe the whole time we were there. It's perfect if you plan on exploring the rainforest or if you are only staying one or two nights.

It was all a great experience, but it was a little tricky to find coming off the main roads. Since they don't have a restaurant onsite, you have to go across the street for a decent breakfast and to the hotel down the road for a good dinner, but if you are willing to venture you can go elsewhere.
