Liked the hot springs but was very nice to have the unheated pool to cool down in. The breakfast was great, fresh cooked eggs and juice, very important. The room was large in the junior suite, bed was very comfortable.

Would be nice to have a location for smoking somewhere on the facility. Out of the way but not have to go all the way to the front entrance. I think it looks worse when people are smoking at the front of the hotel in clear view for anyone coming in.

Food was great; staff super friendly; room good size with everything necessary; several pools thermal and non; location great for visiting all the local attractions

Wi-Fi didn’t work in room; some of the thermal pools outdated/not working correctly

We love the restaurant here, food and service are great. We booked the room with Volcano view and a private Spa. Because of the weather and too many clouds, we were only able to view the volcano half hour before the check-out. Barely used the private Spa either. With the price range, might not book this type of room next time. However, the volcano view is beautiful (even it's only half hour)!

The front desk is taking too long to answer, no greeting, no entousiasme, we waited more than half hour to get someone to answer upon arrival while there isn't even a waiting line...

The staff were lovely, the room was clean and the breakfast was better than expected. Hot spas are very nice also, keep in mind that you have to pay to use most of them in the area if you don't stay in a hotel that has them. There are some free areas about but you have to trespass to get to them. So having a hotel with them is a big bonus.

It's about 15 mins drive out of town so you have to drive or take a cab if you want to explore the restaurants. I wouldn't advise walking on that road. The restaurant food is pricey for Costa Rica but is understandable due to its location.

The grounds at the property were beautifully maintained and wonderfully landscaped. The pool was nice but we didn't try the thermal pools. We did book a guided hike to the Mistico hanging bridges through the hotel and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the tour. Our room was very comfortable and was right along a small creek where we were serenaded nightly by frogs. It was very quiet and secluded feeling, even though it was a large resort. The hotel was in a good central location, with easy access to the town of La Fortuna by cab.

The food was just "ok". We generally tried to eat dinner elsewhere because we didn't like the only dinner we had at the hotel and it was very expensive for such a bland meal. And the servers at the restaurant were not always friendly or helpful.. The breakfast buffet would have benefited from more selections. The fruit and the made-to-order omelets were the only things I found worth eating.

Hot springs were great and very relaxing, access to hot springs is till 3 am, which is very convenient if you want to explore the area during the day and relax at night. Almost every time we were in the hot springs or the hot tub on our own. The only one that's sort of crowded is one by the bar, but we stayed away from it.

Restaurant is good for breakfast, however dinners are not very exciting and quite overpriced. You can find much better value for food in the city of La Fortuna, but you need a car for that. Room is very basic, but we only showered and slept there, so overall it was okay.

We stayed 4 nights in the Fortuna area... two nights here and two nights at another nice property. We wished we had stayed all four nights here. We had one of the king rooms with a private thermal pool out our back door. The room was plenty big with a large bathroom and shower. The main standard swimming pool was never crowded. At times I was the only one swimming. The pool is right next to the restaurant/bar, so relaxing with a drink and food was simple. There are two rather large areas of thermal pools for guest use. Pick a spot, sit back, soak and relax. There is a lot of vegetation and room to spread out in the thermal pool areas. You never feel as if you are on display. One of the thermal pools has a unique bar... you can sit on dry stools on the land side, or sit on a stool in the thermal waters on the other side. You can always find a private spot to relax. Having our own small thermal pool with our room was wonderful.... We used it early morning and late night. Food and snacks at the main restaurant/bar were all good. The breakfast was one of the best we have ever been offered at a hotel stay. There is also a small sports bar on the site, with decent drinks, pizza and other foods. The location to Fortuna attractions is very convenient. Though a busy are, the entrance is gated and you immediately enter a quiet world of dense plant life, trees, flowers and beautifully manicured grounds. Super clean and peaceful. Grounds-crew works non-stop on making it all perfect. You feel totally removed from Fortuna. There was a sloth nearby and plenty of birds. We were very satisfied with our stay.

Nice to have the thermal pools with swim-up bar at hotel after hiking and activities each day. Much better than paying to go to crowded ones. Well-kept grounds with beautiful flowers. Saw wildlife daily including a sloth and its baby the first 10 minutes we were there plus birds, armadillos, frogs, etc. Usually prefer to eat local food outside of our hotels but we enjoyed the hotel restaurant so much we ate there all 3 nights! Very patient and helpful staff helped us plan a last-minute activity.

The hot tub with the junior suite was exceptional. The breakfast buffet, reception bar and grounds were also excellent. The hot springs and pool area are very nice and the staff ate very friendly and helpful.

The room could have been cleaned to a higher standard and the shower was leaky which was disappointing for a junior suite. The food prices in the main restaurant are too expensive for what is served. The food at the reception bar is much better and reasonable price wise. The hotel is out of town so you do end up eating there more than you might think.

The gardens pool/thermal pools were beautifully laid out. There’s lots of hummingbirds and other beautiful birds to see. The restaurant offers a decent selection of reasonable priced food.

I didn’t like the rooms, they were very dark and the walls are quite thin. But they still represented good value for money and the stunning gardens made up for it.
