The location and the grounds where Kokoro is located are amazing. Even if we couldn't see the volcano because of the rain, it felt like we were in a lost jungle paradise. The private hot springs are a real plus! The staff were all exceptionally helpful and welcoming, especially on New Year's Eve, when the sweet owner organized a little party for the hotel guests with speeches, live music and awards.

The only thing that I thought it could have been a little better was the food served in the New Year's Eve buffet, but everything else was well organized and clean.

Everything! The host's attitude toward the customers was extremely helpful - she accommodated all our requests and went out of her way to make our stay better. In fact, the entire staff was excellent (including the Gardner who came in early to show us sloths on the property). Do not plan any outings (even transportation and food) without first consulting the host - she will get you the best price. Finally, the property and the cabins are so pretty.

Wish we could have stayed longer!

Amazing personnel. Enjoying just being at the hotel. Very relaxing. Good option of restaurant with simple menu, but good food. 15 min trail. Wild life frogs, tucan, slauth and so on. The wild life is free and could or not be found during your stay, this is really natural.

Transportation ideal if you rented a car. At the reception they provide help to go to LaFortuna and other destinations, but it could take 10-15 min to arrive.

This hotel was one of our favorites in Costa Rica. Its location is unbeatable being just under the Arenal volcano with clear views from every room. The staff was wonderfully friendly and accommodating. This is a family run business and it shows in the kind of pride they take in their work and facility. The room itself was spacious and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful! Lovely landscaping and the fact that the hotel has its own mineral springs with three pools of different temperatures is a clear and added bonus. The value is exceptional. This is definitely a hotel that I would return to and highly recommend to anyone visiting the La Fortuna area.

I have stayed at various hot spring hotels in the area, but have always overlooked Kokoro. The cabin style rooms where super cute and spacious, we only stayed for 1 night and I wish we had a few more to relax. The hot springs onsite were nice, but a little too hot for us. We ended up spending a lot of time in the large pool, where the kids could play. They are mineral hot springs, so dont be turned off by the color. Dinner was nice and inexpensive and the breakfast had something for everyone.

The hot springs were too hot to stay in longer periods of time

The hotel was on the main road so it was easy to find. The lounge area was nice and offered free coffee and tea all day. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The breakfast was included and had good choice of items. We had dinner at the place as well which was very convenient and at a reasonable price. The hot spring pools were nice to soak in at the end of the day. The staff was helpful and offered suggestions of things to do in the area. One morning we saw a couple of sloths the gardeners pointed out to us.

The room could have had more outlets for recharging. It could have also had better lighting. One of set of steps down to the room was a bit steep and uneven. It should be fixed or closed.

Very cool place, set up with little cabanas on the hillside. We loved the hot springs, the breakfast, and the wildlife trail. The hot springs are, no doubt, the hottest I've encountered in CR when they are freshly refilled in the morning. We were delighted by seeing a sloth and a toucan right on the property, as well as many other tropical birds. The staff were friendly and helpful. They pointed out the wildlife on the property and helped us with our tour bus.

The hot springs don't seem to get much fresh water except first thing in the morning. A few areas are a bit run down in appearance, but nothing that affected our stay.

The cabin was like "Glamping" and reminded me of summer camp. The room was spacious and clean. My husband was concerned about mosquitoes so the staff was happy to hang a mosquitoe net over our bed. We really enjoyed being able to walk to the hot springs. We used them in the afternoon and again when we woke up the next morning. We had them to ourselves in the morning. It was a scenic walk and we saw some cool birds. The breakfast buffett was included and had good food.

I really enjoyed our stay and will definitely go again. However if you are looking for a luxury type Hotel this might not be for you. It is more of a feel of camping out.

Staff was 10/10 and very very sweet. When we just arrived they showed us a sloth 😍, gave recommendations and helped us carry the luggages to the room. All of them were always very pleasant and helpful. Location is also great as well as good breakfast. Their gardens are also very beautiful and very well maintained.

The room felt a bit outdated and not super comfortable be in. The bed was also not super comfortable. However I think pictures showcasing exactly how the rooms look, so our expectations were aligned. We had a few cocroaches in the room (which is of course normal when you are in the nature) and some left cans from other guests (I assume) in the patio that made it feel not very clean.

This was the perfect setting with gorgeous gardens everywhere, birds, and a stunning view of the volcano. The pool and hot springs were wonderful! While sitting in the hot spring, we were able to watch a mother and baby sloth 🦥 in a tree above our heads! Priceless!! The breakfast buffet was absolutely wonderful with so many different choices. I absolutely loved our room/bungalow. It was so huge, with big windows everywhere with stunning views of the gardens and volcano. I also loved the reception area. It was very nice with many comfortable seating options, games for the kids, books to read, and water, tea and coffee, available 24/7. This was such a peaceful and perfect setting. I loved that they kept things more natural and didn’t overdo it with too much bling. This place was perfect for us.

The hot springs are only open from 9:30 am - 9:00 pm I would have liked to have an early morning hot spring time to soak before my day.
