The resort overall was very cleanest I’ve ever seen. Everyone was very nice and informational. They always gave their best! The breakfast was over the top. I wasn’t expecting much however a smoothie juice bar, lots of vegetarian options, variety of breads cheeses, jams, pastries, hot foods, and a omelette bar. What more can you ask for! There are plenty of hot spring pools for everyone. We never felt it was over crowded and if it is, what’s wrong with a little fun. The pool bar is one the best serving drinks and full meals or snacks from their sushi restaurant. The property is maintained beautifully and not outdated besides maybe the rooms. They do need an extra chest of drawers to put away clothes. Included is a fridge with one time fill of mini bar - water bottles, coke, beer. If you’re celebrating any occasion, let them know! And the welcome drink can be alcoholic and nonalcoholic which was really nice!

Breakfast was incredible!!! Staff very friendly and room was clean. We had a room at the back of the property and didn't feel it was too far to walk, but some may. They do have golf carts if you prefer not to walk. The hot springs on site were clean and fun to have access to. My daughter and I had massages and they were some of the best massages we've ever had! I highly recommend this property!

This is a very minor thing, but maybe just a few more options for pillows. Ours were a bit flat and hard, but this is truly a minor thing overall.

Hot springs pools were wonderful and revitalizing. The rooms were nice, we felt comfortable and safe. The property was beautiful! The grounds meticulous and such a variety of tropical plants and trees. We loved the size of the resort, it almost felt intimate. The views of the Arenal Volcano were breath taking. Breakfast was amazing, the Italian restaurant had the most amazing seafood risotto. The staff went out of there way to accommodate us. Our son was getting married. They had a banner on their door, swan towels with rose petals champagne and chocolate covered strawberries!

The music in the springs pool was loud and not very relaxing. We had to move away from the bar area to hear each other. More serene music would have been nice. The room, while well appointed and comfortable enough, could use an update. The mattresses were on the firm side and dipped a bit, the decor very dated, bathroom was in definite need of updates.

Upon arrival we were made to feel super special. The staff were really friendly and got you settled into the hotel/room really well. The thermal pools are amazing, with the facilities open until 10pm which is a bonus after a long day’s tour/sightseeing! We made the most of the free morning yoga session on offer as well which was very serene & the teacher was excellent. Special shout out to team that book the tours as they managed to get us onto a chocolate & coffee one last minute and it was amazing! Breakfast is also very good, with lots of choice on offer from the buffet. Parking outside the room is also a bonus, wasn’t expecting that! On a clear day as well the view is incredible!

Not a huge choice on offer for dinner. There are 2 indoor restaurants (1 quite pricey, the other Italian menu) or there’s the option for the sushi bar by the pool, which is a bit more relaxed.

Great resort, very clean, great views of volcano. The morning yoga was wonderful. Breakfast was great with lots to choose from and the most amazing views in the patio. Sushi was very good. Whatever they wash the linens is smells wonderful like essential oil. The springs are nice and enjoyable. Staff was excellent! Italian restaurant was just ok so we stayed with the other restaurants. Will return.

They need a lawn mower to clear large areas quicker. Lawn care was going for too long around our room and the hot springs. The smell and noise was a little annoying for so long. They do keep the grounds immaculate so I get it but weed eaters and blowers for hours is a bit much if you are staying on lawncare days.

The staff were so friendly and very helpful booking activities and transfers. The hot springs were a delight, the rooms were clean and spacious with a gorgeous view of the volcano. You could also get lifts to and from your room on the golf buggy. Buffet breakfast has an excellent selection and the gym had great facilities. Free yoga in the morning was a lovely way to start the day.

Not a criticism but perhaps a free shuttle service at set times to the main town would be a great addition to this already excellent hotel.

The resort was absolutely beautiful and the amenities were amazing. The security there was excellent; a staff member at every street leading to the bungalows. My favorite amenity was the hot springs pool bar. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. The food was delicious and such a wide variety. Loved the smoothie bar. The staff was awesome! Always available to help and so kind and pleasant. Our concierge Edward was so knowledgeable and helpful. Loved the animals our housekeeper staff made everyday with the blankets. I highly recommend this place to anyone who plans on visiting La Fortuna.

Overall, this was the best hotel that I have ever stayed at. I really enjoyed all of the thermal pools, they were all very well maintained. The grounds were so beautiful, I loved seeing hummingbirds and iguana lizards when walking around the grounds. The Italian restaurant was superb. And the staff was phenomenal, very friendly and helpful.

The sushi bar food was the only dinner that we didn't enjoy that much. Fish didn't seem super fresh and overall taste was okay.

The Hotel Areneal Springs Resort this is also a gated resort. Upon arrival I was greeted with a welcome drink, which was a mixture of fruit freshly made, it was very delicious. We were given wrist bands which were our keys to the room, this was handy since we would be in the hot springs most the time. Our room was a decent size, shower was pretty with plants in it, the view of Areanl Volcano 🌋 from our villa was beautiful, this is a large resort so going up to the front where the hot springs and spas are was a 2-3 min walk. You could also call up to the front and request a golf cart come pick you up, the kids really enjoyed riding on the golf cart so we did this frequently. They had around 5-6 hot springs which you could move from one to another, with the very forest ones back being the hottest to the closest up front a fresh cool water pool for kids. There were two swim up bars with medium temperatures in them cool enough for kids to go in but again no one should have water go past their necks for safety precautions. This was somewhat challenging with little ones, I am certain she got some in her mouth on more then one occasion so I brought activated charcoal, and we all took some after going in the natural hot springs, as well as the ones at this resort. We had a lot of fun playing in the hot springs that night. At the bar you can also order food, my daughter loves piña colada’s The virgin ones were 5$, they hand large ones made in a pineapple, which was 20$ but had a lot more in it then the cup. We ordered pizza and French fries which were delicious. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. In the AM, I walked around but there were no walking trails, this was a bit disappointing to me. However I did notice there was a nature center outside of the gate at the end of the road that one could go to work they wished. I did not because my daughter was back at our villa sleeping still and I did not want to go that far away besides, it was sprinkling out.

Incredible property beautiful views exactly like the pictures but even better in person. I can’t recommend this hotel enough! I would love to come back and stay again. The staff is amazing as well.

Everything was perfect! No complaints. Other than maybe they could offer yoga in the evenings too as I missed a lot due to excursions I always wished there was a second time later in the day.
