the location was in an quite good area of the city 10 to 15 mins walk to paseo colon and the main shopping district,the property was right behind a railway line tho the train sounds didnt bother us.the double room was just adequate enough in size not real big. Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and it was clean.Patrick the owner was friendy and gave some good advice.we thought the property was good value and okay for a final nights stay in costa rica.

Patrick was amazing, he was there waiting for us outside the guesthouse, which was grand as we probably would have missed it! The room was basic, but lovely and clean and after a long flight the shower was fantastic, hot and great pressure. Patrick knew it was our honeymoon and so had put flowers in a little vase for us, which was so sweet! He also arranged a taxi for us the next morning to take us to the bus station. A great place to stay to begin our adventure in Costa Rica!

There is quite a bit of noise around the guesthouse, but welcome to San Jose!

- my room was spacious and clean, bed was comfy. Hot water is consistent. Wifi was ok. No AC but one would not really need it as San Jose is cool at night and in the morning, even in January. The ceiling fan sufficed during the day. I didn't notice much noise transferring from other rooms, although I had a corner room. - No breakfast available due to COVID but there's a nice restaurant just around the block, across the museum where I learned about churreador, the traditional Costa Rican drip coffeemaker. - Patrick and his wife were awesome and available - Perfect location for downtown excursion, less than 5 mins walk to the National museum - I'd say tour operators will pickup here (I did Pacuare river rafting and they picked me up without qualms)

- The railway is nearby but the train winds through downtown so I think the train noise is inevitable. I slept through the 2 nights I was there. The trains start buzzing around 6 am so I thought it was pretty quiet at night. That or I was dead tired. - can be sketchy walking around downtown outside the Central Avenida after dark, otherwise it felt safe during the day

The host is friendly and nice. Rooms are okay. Location is good.

Not much of common areas, just one table outside that can be in use and if so then you don’t have a place to have food or a drink. Also kitchen is not available for use which was disappointing.

Hosts were great, helpful and friendly. 😊Close walking distance to Tracopa bus station and downtown. I had a nice relax between buses. 😄

It would’ve been better if the location entrance was not in such a secluded place, but I was only going out during the day so it was OK. I did not go out tonight.

Patrick and his wife are super friendly and helpfull people. The location is very central so it is possible to walk to pretty much everything. As a solo female traveller it is nice to get some local guidance on do's and don'ts and Patrick was very helpfull. I had 2 nights at the guesthouse at the beginning of my vacation and then came back for 1 night at the end. Patrick made me feel like i was a returning friend.

Value for money, friendly, caring and helpful staff. Returned on my stay, was allowed to leave luggage free of charge. Close to China Town and museums. By the train rail, but noice did not bother us. It is a basic little family run hotel/hostel. Would definitely recommend.

Very simple and well equipped room. Everything you need is inside and central location. Host Patrick was amazing, heartwarming and welcoming. He was very helpful and supportive when I arrived late at night. I definitely recommend it.

Very nice location, walking distance to several museums, walking streets, good restaurants, Chinatown (if you can call it that), parks, some bus stops, and a train stop (not sure where train goes). Mostly clean spot, nice owner (good recommendations on food), communal mini fridge, felt safe.

Could use a thorough cleaning (dust in corners and upper shelves), but maybe that’s being picky.

Affordable little guesthouse in the heart of San Jose. Nothing to fault, owner was really helpful and got me a taxi from airport as I was checking in late. printed me a map of city as well. Would highly recommend
