Hotel Casa Roland San Jose

It’s quirky, it’s different, it’s unique, it’s charismatic, it’s very comfortable, clean, with incredibly friendly staff and great breakfasts! Be prepared to go up & down stairs to get to your room…there’s no elevators, however this is part of its charm!

We booked the Junior Suite on the understanding that the lounge/kitchen area was solely for us! There was nothing to state otherwise in any of the information online, in the booking etc! However, another family had use of the same lounge/kitchen area too for one night, nearly caught my husband in his “altogethers”! So don’t think that when you book the Junior Suite….all of its just for you!

Cozy hotel with the best decorations. We felt like we were sleeping in a picture gallery. The bed was very good and pillows decent. Breakfast is great!

The fact that you can be offered with a room with no windows. They were kind enough to change it after our request (thanks for that), but in general, make sure that you request a room with windows.

The staff was very polite and courteous. Hotel clean and smells very fresh. Relaxed and quiet atmosphere. The breakfast is outstanding. Clean towels, bedding very clean and neat. I love so much making a third week to stay again. I would highly recommend this hotel if you’re ever in San Jose Rohrmoser. Very professional staff. A very quiet area. Even the taxi driver Herman is an outstanding help. They tended to me with utmost respect.

There was nothing I didn’t dislike about Casa Roland San Jose Rohrmoser. I could only suggest a microwave to warm up food I would order out. I’m certain they would allow me to use the one downstairs in the kitchen if asked. This place is a place from home.😊😊😊

This hotel is like a museum. Kids loved walking around hallways looking at all the paintings, statues, and decor. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The breakfast menu exceeded our expectations, everything was made to order and very tasty, kitchen staff met us with big smiles every morning. I would definitely recommend coming and staying there even for the sake of walking around and looking at all the art.

I can't think of anything that I was missing in this hotel. From the moment we came to the moment we left everything was just perfect.

EDIT:The management and people are VERY honest. I dropped around 160 $ cash { in local Colones } and the staff found it then gave it to the manager. The manager gave it back to me next day. This kind of honesty is worth praise. The manager and her staff deserve the highest praise possible. I got a good feeling about the manager right from the beginning. Now I know my trust was very well placed. These are GOOD people. As I said before I like the manager. Because she is exceptionally intelligent; kind and accommodating. They let me keep my cat here. Now I will add honesty to the reasons I like the staff and the manager.

eclectic and unique. great, and I mean great, artwork in the rooms and common areas. rooms were clean and comfortable, with well appointed bathrooms. great staff, attentive and friendly. convenient location, midway between Airport and downtown, easy access to Hwy 1 great breakfast, great price.

Beautiful with nice amenities. Staff was friendly and helpful. The reception gentleman was very helpful. He went out of his way to help me without me having to ask. Impressive!

It was on a steep hill and no one explained the shuttle service or where it would take you. I didn’t find the beach until I was leaving. Nothing was in English. All communication was in Spanish, including all written information. I was going to have breakfast but no one told me the location or how to get to it. No written information was provided in a language I could read if there was any.

The chef at Hotel Casa Roland is absolutely fantastic! Breakfast is generous and made with great quality ingredients and care. The reception and staff are very welcoming and helpful. We love the layout of the hotel, each corridor and common space feels like your have found a hidden treasure.

We loved everything, our only dislike was that we had to leave! We hope to return in the future.

Outstanding customer service. Spotless room and common areas. Even the towels' smell was like home. This facility is a true museum of art. You feel at home. Cozy, walking distance from the US embassy and the National Stadium. Family-oriented destination. But, overall, outstanding customer service. Congrats!

The first thing you notice is the decor, it’s unique and funky and we loved it. felt like you could get lost and find hidden treasures hidden in corners. The beds were very comfortable, the best ones from our entire stay in Costa Rica. The room was nice and big and the staff was very friendly and nice. would very much recommend to stay here
