The hotel has a distinctive style and is very spacious. The view from the room over the valley was amazing. The staff were very helpful. The food from the restaurant was appetising.

The menu was quite limited in choice. (It also seems to be very close to that of the hotel next door, so you don't get more choice by going there. There is a tour guide who attends the hotel in the mornings, but in our case he could not ensure availability for the day we needed (so we booked elsewhere). Shame. The room was sparse of furniture: Bed, bedside tables, one hammock and several dining chairs. Not much for US$75 per night, but the location and view almost compensated.

The location, in the middle of the jungle, is super. It is right next to the paraiso alto hondo. You are allowed to use their pools, which look lovely, with, cascades, smaller and bigger basins, fountains etc. Altos de cano hondo is much quieter, and that is a big plus. Room are beautifully decorated, and have good beds, mine came also with a hammock and a small private terrace. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Highly recommended to stay here!

The next-door paraiso de cano hondo accepts day guests to visit their pools and welcome them with quite loud music. Weekend days seem to be more busy. Altos de cano hondo is much quieter, but the music can still be heard.

Oh my gosh....everything. It was definitely one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. The staff was so kind and accommodating to my family even though we did not speak Spanish. This is a very quiet peaceful place but all were very kind to my kids, ages 5, 7 and 9. Gorgeous sun rises overlooking Montana Rodanda, beautiful star lit nights over the Sanoma Bay. Wilfred the tour guide is amazing and so kind; it just really brings me chills remembering it and anyone who gets the chance to go is blessed.

Nothing. We unfortunately didn't speak any Spanish but even so the waiters never got our order wrong. The food at the hotel was delicious and you have everything you need in this wonderful place.

The hotel is located inside the Park of Los Haitises. The place is surrounded by an amazing ecosystem. The rooms are amazing all rooms are carved with wood and named after birds that live in the area. The staff was kind and attentive to any of our needs. This is a hidden piece of paradise in the Dominican Republic. A must-go destination if you want to see the flora and fauna that have been preserved in the country.

Access by car could be challenging. If driving, an SUV is recommended. Unless you go by tour bus. There are not many signs to get to the hotel town but anyone in Sabana de la mar can guide you to it. Not bad just another adventure

A truly amazing experience. The view from the hotel is extraordinary, the staff among the friendliest and politest you can imagine, and the food delicious (try the fish in coconut sauce with tostones - it’s delicious). We also made an amazing tour with the hotel guide Wilfred - including a fantastic morning kayak tour, visits to caves and a hike through the jungle (all highly recommended). The rooms are clean and nice with beautiful balconies. It is great that you can use the natural pools of the neighboring hotel. This is a place you really shouldn’t miss when in Dominican Republic.

I liked very much that they let us to do the check out after we came back from a hiking trip. The dinner was okey and the breakfast was good. The hotel give you a number of guy who doing the best trips around Los Haitises national park, take it and use it, you will not regret of that. We did with him kayaking, hiking, boat trip to the caves and it was stunning. Fully recommended. Don’t waste your time with agencies on internet, just book this place and you will see the best side of NP Los Haitises.

The location was beautiful and the pools were simply amazing. It was peaceful during the week, the staff was great, and the room was fine. No A/C but a good fan, great shower water pressure, shampoo and soap included. Restaurant was good- it’s all a la carte so keep that in mind when you order!

The walls were very thin, so on the weekend when it was busier, we could hear the neighbors talking and then snoring all night! I would highly recommend going during the week if possible.

Many things. It's a very beautiful hotel in the middle of the jungle and the design of the hotel gives an authentic feeling (despite its concrete). The rooms are special and are also very pleasant. Besides the view on the valley is impressive. We did the boat and jungle hike that the hotel offers and it was really great

The music. Well we love music generally speaking but when sleeping in the middle of the jungle, which we don't do everyday, we rather listen to the birds and the forest of such a unique place. But they really like music a lot so that it's quite loud a large part of the day. On the second day, we were literally the only guests and had the music also for us alone. So we asked then to turn off the music which they did and said the music was for us. Well, that's nice but so I'm not sure whether they think that tourists are missing music or if locals (there were a lot on the first day) come to this place to listen to music. Would definitely recommend this place either way 👍

Hard bed Our deluxe room shared a door with another room and we could hear absolutely everything going on there The restaurant pricing was confusing - sometimes à la carte (affordable), sometimes buffet (pricey)

absolutely amazing rainforest- immersed lodge. We adored the architecture, Little cosy corners to relax, beautiful natural water pool spa... absolutely beautiful. Also the rooms are comfortable and very very beautiful.

the staff is... well they are trying their best. Very very slow, especially in the restaurant - (I think you better bring your own food honestly...), no english.... but they are trying and they are kind. Another chapter is their trip/excursions organiser. He is competent ( what he promised actually happened and we were happy) but extremly rude ( I think he thinks it is funny... unfortunately noone is laughing at his "jokes") We had some issues with him being very offensive, so if you prefere a tranquil hike in the rainforest, maybe try to set some rules beforehand.
