The Pavilion Winter is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The hotel is clean, comfortable and well-positioned. Our room was tastefully decorated, clean and spacious with a good-sized bathroom complete with bathrobes, slippers and lovely toiletries. During our stay there were 3 dining options on site but you need to be smartly dressed for 2 of them, so we opted for the "casual" BBQ which is served near the swimming pool. There is a buffet offering a variety of vegetables and starters, which changes daily. The meat is brought to the table on a small charcoal grill and is excellent. Various wines are served. Local wines go for around 900 EGP a bottle and were good. The service was excellent and the waiters are very friendly and attentive. It was my birthday and they brought a cake and flowers to the table and I was seranaded by all the waiters. Really special! The breakfast is also a buffet and there is a really good range of products plus tea, coffee, fruit juice etc. Room service is available 24hr. The swimming pool is stunning (and heated) and you can order food and drinks from the bar there until around 5pm. The staff were friendly and attentive. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay there again. There are security guards outside the hotel complex and the only negative aspect is that the minute you go out of the hotel you are hassled by touts (not the hotel's fault obviously!). We walked a little way down the road and got a taxi for 150Egp to Karnak. The local going rate for a taxi is 100-150EGP for a single journey but you need to establish the price before you get in the taxi. The touts outside the hotel ask for 400.

My only criticism is that it was difficult to contact the hotel before arrival. I sent many messages and tried to call to arrange airport transfer and received an answer when I switched on my phone at Luxor Airport. I had already arranged transport through booking, which turned out to be much cheaper. They charge €50-60. We paid €18 through booking.

This is a superb hotel that pretty much matches any five-star hotel I've ever stayed in, but at a far more affordable price! The staff were lovely and were able to facilitate a connecting room for us, which may seem small but made our evening! The swimming pool is perfect for hot days and there are lots of chairs set out which they provide towels to cover. The room service is of a good quality and very reasonably priced. They provide the usual slippers and dressing gown which are always a nice touch, and the room cleaning team left flowers and little towel statues for my sister which thrilled her!

Just one note - I asked at reception regarding organising a tour, and the price they quoted me was about five times what I found when doing independent searches myself. This isn't a criticism at all, they're perfectly entitled to charge whatever they want, just a note for those more budget-conscious that there are cheaper options available!

Comfy hotel surrounded by lush greenery right in the heart of Luxor city. The gardens were absolutely beautiful, although it was a little sad to see the flamingoes being cooped up in the evening in a shabby little cage. Breakfast was outstanding, probably the best we had our entire time in Egypt. Our room was spacious and felt like a slice of heaven after a long day of walking. Location was perfect, right next to the city and within walking distance to restaurants and the souk. The hotel staff were very kind in allowing us to leave our luggage at the reception desk after check-out.

The taxi drivers at the entrance were like hyenas waiting to devour unsuspecting hotel guests. We booked a Careem ride and were harassed by the taxi drivers who insisted that tourists were apparently "not allowed" to use Careem - thankfully we ignored them and got our ride anyway. The hotel should make an effort to place security personnel at the entrance to assist guests and help them avoid these touts.

The hotel has a beautiful green garden, with even flamingos strolling through in the early hours. It truly was a sight to behold and created a serene atmosphere that provided a much-needed escape from the bustling city nearby. Paradise vibes could also be felt at the hotel's pool. The breakfast served in the garden was the best breakfast we had during our entire trip in Egypt. A wide variety of options, including lots of fresh fruits and a chef who prepared delicious pancakes and omelets. The staff members were friendly and attentive. When we encountered a disturbance from the neighboring room in the middle of the night, the staff resolved the issue immediately.

The absence of air conditioning in the room was a considerable disappointment. Although some ventilation was present, it did little to combat the extreme heat. This lack of cold air significantly impacted our ability to relax, especially during the sweltering nights.

I was in Egypt to go diving, in Sharm and also Marsa Alam which was great. The bits in between were not. Independent travel in Egypt as an older, solo female was an absolute nightmare so arriving and staying for 3 nights in the Pavillion Winter Luxor was a complete God send. On check in, I was greeted by a lovely, smiling lady and I noticed how beautiful the lobby area smelled. Compared to my previous Egyptian experiences, I was greeted with friendliness, professionalism and courtesy and I would like to thank you for that. On leaving, I was asked how I enjoyed my stay, thank you, it was wonderful. My room had a balcony overlooking the gardens where I was enthralled to see flamingos roaming around. Amazing! I used the pool late each day and was helped by the lovely man there and shown to a free lounger and given a towel. Fabulous pool, great for swimming laps. The grounds were amazing, and when I explored the sister older hotel next door, I read about the history of the hotel and the gardens which was fascinating, A big hoorah to the people who keep the grounds and all the trees and bushes in such wonderful condition. Great location, just cross the road you are on the banks of the Nile, but believe me, no sooner do you step foot outside the hotel, you are accosted by someone wanting to sell you a horse carriage ride or felucca trip or take you to their friend's shop etc etc etc. And then you are outside this fabulous bubble of beautifulness and back in Egypt. Breakfast was good, not outstanding in choice but you can sit out on a patio area and look out over gardens, which is nice. The toiletries were really lovely and good quality. Daily, very stylish glass bottle of water and there was a fridge.

No kettle in the room which I would have liked but not the end of the world.

The location of the hotel is its greatest asset and the beautiful gardens which provide a quiet oasis from the rush of Luxor, yet still walking distance to the temple, the museum and lots of good restaurants. Meret at the front desk was excellent but the rest of the staff were not so good :( The breakfast was very good with eggs cooked to order, but sausages etc that were supposed to be hot, weren't. The breakfast hours were sensible, 5.30-10.30 for travellers going out early and those not, well done. Could be a fantastic hotel with some work, but as it is, value for money in the best location.

We arrived late in the evening to find that our room didn't have the listed tea/coffee maker and it was hard work even to get a kettle to boil some water! The shower needs a plumber to adjust the shower rose so that it doesn't land on your head whilst showering! The lighting was poor.....putting on mascara a challenge. Maintenance generally needs some work. The bed was hard, but made more comfy by putting a towel in under the sheet. The smoking policy could be improved by locating the huge outdoor ashtray for the smokers to finish their ciggy just before they enter the restaurant to 10metres away, so that non-smokers and asthmatics don't have to walk through the cloud of smoke both going into and out of the restaurant!! Fancy thinking of that!

The hotel overall was great, we really liked the atmosphere and the location was also good. The breakfast was fine as well.

Although this is not the hotels fault, maybe they can do something about it. The taxi drivers in front of the hotel were extremely annoying. They shout at the tourists like dogs, and can get upset when they are (obviously) rejected. It is okay when there is 1 or 2 of these people, but when 6 is shouting at you at the same time, it can get you upset. And a simple no is not enough.

Breakfast was fantastic; available from 5am - 10:30am which worked great for early tours and lie-ins and on the last day when we left for the airport before 5am we were provided with a takeaway breakfast. We ate breakfast outside in the sunshine overlooking the beautiful gardens in the hotel grounds. The pool was very nice and relaxing and the bar service to your lounger or directly to the in-pool bar was great making it a very pleasurable experience. The room was also very good and the bed was actually a super king rather than a king size as expected which was a nice surprise. There was a spacious balcony overlooking the garden and the air conditioning was good. The hotel was situated away from all the hustle and bustle of the main street and the noise difference was noticeable once you got into the hotel grounds.

The only small problem was the shower guard in the bathroom was at the wrong end of the bath. This resulted in a wet floor when showering but this was not a major concern.

Amazing garden Excellent breakfast, room service and BBQ experience Excellent pool Comfortable and spacy room

The check in time is too late. As we arrived at 6:30 at the hotel from the train station, we would have liked to put our luggage in our room earlier and have a place to refresh. We were told that we just had to start the visits and then come back. As I was carrying my computer with me for professional duties, I did not feel comfortable in leaving it in the lobby even with the staff there. I was then advised to take it with me while visiting...!! There was no lock room to leave it and I think this is a problem for a hotel with these standards. Apart from that, the rest of the staff was absolutely helpful and friendly throughout the stay

The winter pavillion is a sanctuary of peace in the middle of luxor. Due to the inner garden it is very quiet at night and relaxed. Breakfast was good, also eggs were baked by a chef on demand. Breakfast was outside which was very nice.

I was told that in 1 or 2 of their restaurants a formal clothing was required. They offered ties (apparently), but who goes to luxor on holidays with formal clothing... A negative experience for me was the control at the entrance. The guard noted to me almost every time and day I passed him that I was 'coming in and out a lot'. I was very annoyed by this and felt controlled. If there would have been another exit, I would have used it for sure, just to avoid the guard. Going in and out 3 times is not so unlogical when you arrive: you check in, go out to get something, come back to rest a bit after a 4h trip and to drink and go out afterwards to visit some locations in luxor. I found it very annoying.
