The staff were so friendly and helpful, particularly Rita and Santiago. When my daughter had a bout of food poisoning, they went out of their way to make various teas to help her get better. It was situated in a nice part of the city, it was clean, the breakfast was decent and the rates were extremely reasonable.

The facilities were a bit creaky, the fridge was perched precariously on a ledge where it didn't quite fit, the freezer didn't work, the shower was lukewarm and so on. But at the price they were charging, we could live with these shortcomings.

Where do I start? I have been traveling to over 20 years and stayed at the Waldorf’s and Hilton’s of the world. This is the best property I have even stayed at! 1. From the moment I made a booking I was contacted via WhatsApp and was offered help in any way I need. I received a welcome to El Salvador message upon arrival. 2. When I say the room was clean, I mean 1000% clean, not a speck of dust anywhere, I tend to check and I usually wear flip flops in the shower, not here- the room, the sheets, the bathroom smell clean and fresh. 3. The entire property is beautiful , everyone who stays here seems to be so happy to be here that the smiles never go away. Any request I had whether to clean the room or anything else was done within 30 minutes! Try to get that these days at 5 star hotels…. Lastly, and this is not about the property but the entire city of San Salvador and El Salvador as a whole. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE NEWS. I have rented a motorcycle and cris crossed this country, never, not once did I feel unsafe, uncomfortable, worried for my well-being and safety. There are armed guards and military at many places but not to intimidate but to create the sense of safety and security. San Salvador is a true gem of Central America and if you come to visit, I hope they will have a room available for you!

The location was not the best but good. The hotel staff was friendly, and not expensive as I booked early. I did not expect that, but the room was serviced every day.

Communicating problem as I don't speak Spanish, and there was confusion with checking in, as only the security man was in reception when I arrived late in the evening. As it was my first-time visit to this city - it was not easy to understand where exactly the city center, and old town and it was approximately 45 minutes walk from this property, but this was not a big problem in my case.

On average all the breakfasts were delicious especially the Salvadorean traditional one and the Pupusas. I personally didn't care for the French Toast. The coffee is great and they sell bags of it at a very reasonable price. The location was very convenient. There is a cafeteria within 1/4 of a block away that serves delicious home cooked meals, a bakery which also serves breakfast and lunch specials and the people are so warm and friendly.

The construction workers made a lot of noise and there were lots of big ants in the room coming from the air conditioner on the wall. Since the property is ecologically-friendly they wouldn't spray any poison such as Baygon or Raid. They used something natural that didn't exactly do away with the problem completely but rather partially.

This hotel is elegant. The decor was beautiful. High level of cleanliness throughout which made my stay very comfortable. Great location in a fantastic part of town. There are tea, coffee, and hot water available in the kitchen for guests at all times, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff was polite and friendly. Strong wi-fi connection. I would definitely stay in this hotel again if I come back to San Salvador.

- No hot water, only cold showers available (apparently this is rather common in El Salvador). - Small breakfast with limited choices, although what is provided is tasty. - They charge 40% more than the going Uber rate to transfer you to the airport, which I felt was a very steep price for the service.

Great location,Everything is so close, Very clean place, best of all the AC units are so smooth and silent you can sleep so well without any noise,staff is very friendly and very attentive, breakfast is available every morning, overall my stay was absolutely amazing. Great place for the cost of our stay.

Parking is limited, had to double park a couple of times. Otherwise awesome.

The Hotel Villa Serena Escalon is centrally located one block away from the Salvador del Mundo Plaza. My room was very comfortable with air conditioning, hot water, a sunken shower, a television set and a mini-refrigerator. The hotel provides a free breakfast every morning. The staff is always extremely courteous and helpful. There are fast food restaurant within two blocks of the hotel and the Galleria Shopping Center located 5 blocks away. There is a Walmart located 7 blocks away.

There are no convenience stores located close to the hotel.

The staff a Villa Serena Escalon were super friendly and always helpful. I especially liked Rita, Ceci, Carlos, and Carmen. The hotel is very close to the bus stop and plenty of fast food restaurants like Burger King, Wendy's, McDonald's and Panda Express.

The is a Dollar City Store two blocks away, but there grocery selection is very limited. There are no other supermarkets or convenience stores nearby. The closest supermarkets are the Super Selectos and Walmart both 6 or 7 blocks away.

Clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Clean linens and fresh pillows. That's exactly what I want in a room. Bathroom and shower good. Property attractive and well maintained. They were booked for my stay in San Salvador, but I managed to get a room my final nite. I can not rate breakfast since my departure was too early. Book in confidence here.

There are no negatives from my stay. I really can not offer any suggestions here.

The Kindness of the staff, specially Rita Pineda, the Receptionist, she was so attentive every time that I’ve contacted the front desk. There is many options to booking, but I choose great attention first.

I would love if they have the option of a King size bed.
