When I checked in, which was very straightforward, I tried to open my door with the key card but it kept flashing orange so I returned to reception where the receptionist was apologetic, very helpful and carried my 3 bags to my room and ensured I could open the door this time. The room was very quiet, no noise from the corridor, adjoining rooms or outdoors as I was in a room that faced the road.

It was a shame that the swimming pool, sauna and steam room were closed for refurbishment but I was attending a Christmas party at the hotel so didn't encourage me to discontinue my booking.

Very imposing and beautiful hotel which is being refurbished. Our room was lovely but bathroom not quite finished but nonetheless very nice. Bed wasn’t very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Didn’t use the leisure facilities but they looked really good.

Property itself was fine, good parking too. However, we arrived as two coaches arrived. We were visiting family and had arranged to meet them for dinner. We were in a hurry to check in. The coach party arrived in dribs and drabs and we followed one couple in. The receptionist told us to go and sit down and wait until he had dealt with the coach party! I don’t know how long this would have taken as they were all wandering up slowly. He actually got us some help once we said we were in a hurry and couldn’t do this. Perhaps receptionists should be told to check in individual couples first which wouldn’t take so long. That is our only bad comment about our experience and we would go back.

The Basingstoke Country Hotel, is in a great setting and within easy access to Borge Basingstoke and Camberley. The leisure club which is available for a small charge was well equipped clean and with helpful friendly staff. The reception staff were professional and attentive, while the restraint staff provided a lovely service for all the meals we had at the hotel.

It’s not necessarily a dislike, some of the room decor was a tad dated, and evident the the property knew of the heating fault in the room as there were 2 oil filled electric heaters under the dressing table, and one bedside lamp was not working

Staff were fantastic, good value for money on the deal I got, good location, it's an ok hotel and good for the price, food was ok, not gourmet but you get a lot for your money....my review would not have been a good as one if it wasn't for the staff, they are holding that hotel together, really, really great Staff!!!

Disappointed the Pool was closed, the place could do with a lick of paint and some maintenance........but for the money it was bang on......if they did do it up I would happily pay more to go there, as long as they have the same standard of Staff

The hotel is beautiful, particularly the gardens which are stunning and very-well maintained. The room was large, very comfortable and had a lovely view of one of the terraces and pool. The food was also amazing. In fact we wanted to move in!

We could've done with more tea, coffee and milk sachets. Also, there was a great offer on for food, so we booked an evening meal, which was delicious, but the staff in the restaurant charged us full price because we should've been given a voucher when we booked the meal but we didn't.

It has the feeling of once being a top quality place to stay. The furnishings are solid pure quality from a bygone era. Rooms are big and spacious with proper mattresses and built in wardrobes. Sauna, steam room and gym for a measly £4 supplement. Breakfast was fantastic with quality sausages. Staff all chatty and friendly. What was even better was the cost. Not £200, not £100 but just £45 a night. Awesome place.

Clearly, I’m not the only person in the last few years who has asked for English Mustard which goes on my sausages? They DON’T do English Mustard. Don’t look behind the head board of the bed. Mine was years worth of dust and used tissues. Also there is no mirror in the bathroom, nor a hook or rail to put the towel.

I was most impressed with the staff, they could not do enough to help me whilst on my visit, a worker behind the bar called Kit went above and beyond to help me sort out an issue I was having.

Site was easy to find, room was nice and exceptional value for money. Evening meal was very tasty, and breakfast too, and both were very good value, especially as they could be booked ahead of time at a discount. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I did not end up staying for the whole original booking, due to changes in my work schedule, but was made aware that if I could let the Reception staff know before 2pm, I would be refunded the unused nights. I did and they were true to their word and refunded my account without any issue. Great service. Will use them again when in the area.

Nothing. In my case, it absolutely ticked off all the boxes, as I was looking for an easy-to-get-to place for work, at very short notice.

We had a lovely Easter weekend, the room was very clean and comfortable including the lovely clean swimming pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the buffet dinners with plenty to choose from and Easter Sunday carvery was so fresh and tasty with a good choice of meats and veg including loads of salads and a tasty soup for starters. We highly recommend this hotel, will definitely go back.

The WiFi was slow but we did find parts of the hotel where we could pick it up fast, so wasn't a problem for us.

The price for a sat eve was very good the grounds etc were very pretty as was the hotel,it was in a very quiet area which made for a good stay.

The Bar was not open for drinks at the time stated in the room broucher but the worst aspec to our stay was the very dangerous hot water i burnt the the top of my foot getting into the shower this was like boiling water and the shower leaked this was reported to staff as this would not meet health and safety and could lead to a legal action against the hotel
