the location and the facility is great. we stayed at a kammi suite which is the best option to go at Apukka. integrated amazingly into the Lapland landscape and just beside the lake it offers a unique experience! great also is at Apukka you can get almost all adventure packs in house

hotel service level was very basic. options for food at the 2 restaurants of the hotel were very limited. let’s don’t forget my room was charged 900+ per night. at these price points you expect nothing but the best. overall the service is not a strong characteristic of the Finish touristic industry I suppose (judging from the overall experience in Rovaniemi/Helsinki etc.)

We saw the Northern Lights from our room, it was an amazing light show! The room is small and basic but let's be honest, we are all here for the Aurora. Front row seats to the action but you have to turn off all the lights and be patient! Sleeping under the lights was an amazing experience and the food was also great!

Nothing, it was perfect! 100% will book again!

We arrived in Rovaniemi by train. You can take the bus from the train station directly to Apukka resort. We arrived earlier and our Aurora cabin was not ready but they made it available sooner, which was great! The cabin was really clean and comfortable. There was instant coffee and tea bags complimentary in the room. Breakfast is included, we did not enjoy the selection that much. For lunch was the same. You can serve dinner at the buffet for 35€/adult and 15€/child. There is also “a la carte” option. Also, they have another restaurant on site for pizza. We tried it and it was delicious! The staff is amazing!! Everyone we encountered was really friendly! We did the husky tour on site, Amazing!! We also did “snow and fun” it was just ok, not really worth the money! overall it was an amazing experience!!!

The only thing that I have to mention is that the hot water in the cabin runs only for 20 min, after that you need to wait for 2 hrs again.

Apukka was an amazing place to stay on our final night. We had a glass igloo and it was just incredible. The reception staff at check-in are fantastic, the room/igloo itself was very very clean, was the perfect temperature and was simply just magical. Breakfast was the best we'd had while in Finland, the food was continually topped-up, piping hot and overall just really tasty. We did also eat in the restaurant before our flight home and the food was incredible, highly recommend the lobster soup! The location is very scenic and like a postcard, however there is very limited transport options apart from a taxi, which I think was very expensive. There is quite a bit to do in the resort and they do advertise activities at the reception desk. It was an expensive stay, but well worth the money and I would return.

For our return to the airport, our flight was at 10pm and we asked 3 different members of staff about taxi prices and each person gave us very different prices, which ranged from 30 Euro to 75 Euro. The reception booked us a taxi at 40 Euro, however for how close the airport was, it felt extortionate, I am not sure if they have an agreement with a taxi firm and just make up the prices depending on who you speak to, as there is a huge difference between 30 and 75 Euros, especially when the taxi ride was less than 10 mins. Also be prepared to either pay for taxis to different locations (Santa's Village being the closest) or to amuse yourself as it is very remote.

OMG, the Apukka Resort is amazing, as are the staff, Finland and the Finnish people in general! Staying here is a fantastic experience ... the scenery, the Northern Lights, the sauna, the huskies, walking on a frozen lake, the peace and quiet, I could go on and on ... If you have the privilege to visit this place (and it is a real privilege), then do so ... it is so good for the soul! If you need noise, crowds, entertainment, etc then please stay away ... it's not for you, so please leave it for those of us who want to escape from the rat race for a while ...

Aah, difficult one, it is just so lovely. In the interests of balance, our only critique is that the excursion 'Aurora Hunt by Car' is expensive for what it is. The trip itself is fine and I wouldn't discourage anyone from doing it. However, for the cost (& description) we thought we were going have a private car to take us chasing the lights. Instead we were on a bus with nearly 20 other people. That wouldn't have been a problem if we'd known, but it is a bit pricey for that.

We had plenty of towels, blankets and hot water for our family of 5. Our rental was clean and comfy with 3 gorgeous panoramic large windows on the backside facing the frozen lake.

We booked a dog sledding excursion through the resort, and I would advise families to go 30 to 45 minutes before, in order to get suited up in all of the required gear. It took our family of 5 longer than expected because items weren't fitting properly and it was very busy. We wished we had more time to get comfortable before walking across the road and up to the dog sledding experience. It was a bit of a walk and we weren't expecting that "extra" part in such big, bulky attire. With 3 kids, it would have been helpful to get a ride. We felt our guides were upset because we were slower and trying to keep up with the group. They were gracious, but we definitely needed more than the 15 minutes we were originally advised. Overall, we still had a wonderful time.

Great location and lovely setup of the cabins in the resort A lot of activities bookable to experience the outdoors/nordic area Friendly and supportive staff Comfortable cabins and beds Great food & Breakfest at the hotel Shuttle bus to the city (at extra cost)

Most activites need to be pre-booked and paid extra. So when planning consider, that there will not be much to do unless you pay extra for it. The prices for the activities are fair - but as to be expected in Finland quite steep. Without booking activities there is not really much to do round the resort, so consider this in your planning.

Great Rooms (Komsio Suite), distance to airport, nature surroundings, very nice staff, very good Food (Dinner) Nice free walks around the hotel where hundreds of reindeer can be spotted

Breakfast (only average), prices for drinks in General Prices for Sauna (75 EUR and 185 EUR for lake sauna); Shuttlebus Transfer to Rovaniemi and Santa Clause village (10 EUR p.p one way, irrespective of distance) is simply a tourist rip-off although taxi prices are even worse … Husky Tour was great fun, but simply too short (only 30 minutes of 2 hrs was the actual sled ride)

Staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. Range of activities/experiences available - though these are very costly. Food options were great - local delicacies and prices to suit.

There was no option to choose a double bed. We arrived and were given a twin set of beds in our glass igloo. I asked for this to be changed (if it was an option on booking.com i would have chosen a double bed, so I assumed if I couldn't choose then it was a given) and was informed it couldn't be changed which was disappointing, especially as it was so so expensive. No late check out was allowed, even for a fee. All the activities were great, but everything had to be booked and whilst this was well organised, they were extortionately expensive.
