Very clean. Large airy bedroom. Excellent disabled bathroom facilities. The breakfasts were substantial with a wide selection. The hotel also offered a limited but adequate selection of evening meals, thus saving the need to travel into town. Above all, the staff were amongst the most friendly and helpful that we have encountered during many years of travelling. If all Holiday Inns are of the same standard then they will always be our first choice in future.

Facilities could have been improved by a walk-in shower for disabled. Also a second chair in the bedroom should be provided as a norm.

We had an issue with our booking through booking.com and there was a night manager who was brilliant and sorted out everything for us, I wish I could remember her name. She was very professional and helpful and used her common sense and helped us. The breakfast was better than expected. I thought we were going to get a danish pastry in a bag and a coffee from a crappy vending machine. What we got was proper English bacon, Cumberland sausages scrambled eggs, beans, a choice of cereals, croissants, toast and muffins, pastries. The coffee did come from a machine but it was very drinkable. They also provided fresh baps which you could make a breakfast sandwich with and take away. There was a small bar. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. They provided a choice of pillows, in case you preferred a firm or soft one.

The building was very functional, but not nice to look at. Which doesn’t really matter for this type of hotel. The location was in a business estate.

the property was east to get to as we had a wedding to attend at a local Manor House. The rooms were really clean well maintained and even the views were beautiful. The staff were excellent, warm, friendly and very accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was really nice coffeemaker was amazing, my husband and my self don’t eat meat however there were some really tasty options we could eat and the staff topped up the various food items consistently.. Beds were so comfortable as well as the pillows, the room was so clean and tidy. Even a note from the cleaning staff with some treats. really happy with our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel

the only thing I can say which is absolutely ridiculously picky because the hotel was wonderful is the shower head was a little dated. however it was still a powerful shower

Large spacious room. Hotel well kept and nicely decorated. Bathroom and shower very good. Shower easy to work and spacious. Staff friendly and helpful (there was one chair in the room and I asked at reception if we could have another- desk attendent brought it up within minutes. Also no problem getting some extra tea bags fro the room.) Self service breakfast very good, well cooked and lots of it. It is budget hotel outside town in a Business Park but it was very quiet and Shrewsbury is in easy reach by car. I would stay again.

There was a very minor problem with some of the minor channels breaking up in the late evening- Rest of channels, especially the main channels, were unaffected. Mentioned it at the desk next morning and they said they would check it out

Very clean and comfortable. We stayed in one in Leith previously where initially impressed by their standards. Location fine if by car with ample parking. Room was large. Requested double bed (I think) but two good size singles given. (It does say it will try to match but....) Amenities included coffee, tea sachets AND biscuits. Not all chains do these days. Accidentally booked right dates but wrong month due to Feb not being a Leap year. Booking.com customer services liaised with hotel and my error corrected at same price. Thank you both. Breakfast had best brown bread for toast in any chain to date. Gluten-free bread available. Despite heaving numbers the staff managed to keep the warmers stocked up with bacon, sausages etc. They even have bags for any croissant etc you might want later. All seating comfortable for unhurried meals. Breakfast included in our deal so price of stay reasonable.

Warmers could keep hot items hotter. Coffee machines likewise. Toaster was slow but still needed bread to go through twice for proper browning. All in all good variety of choices however.

Our room and bathroom was very spacious and clean, and had everything we needed. The bed was also very comfortable so we had a good night's sleep.

The only thing we felt could do with some improvement was the breakfast - some vegetarian sausages would have been great. The breakfast counter could have also been organised slightly better, with plates & cutlery at the beginning and drinks and milk at the end, and perhaps some signage indicating where things are - as it was difficult to juggle helping ourselves to breakfast and carrying a hot drink, all whilst people were pushing in to get a plate or some milk from under the counter for example. We would definitely stay at this hotel again, but wouldn't pay for the breakfast unless it was included in the room price.

Lovely and clean, good breakfast facilities, polite and helpful staff. Paid for king size room and was impressed by size of room and good to have some storage for clothes and overnight bags without cluttering the room. Also liked free on site parking and Wi-Fi which worked well unlike some other places we’ve stayed at and had to pay for the WiFi

Was aware of noise from the main road on the first night, but didn’t seem so bothersome by the second night felt that this was outweighed by the benefit of having the larger room when staying more than one night.

Continental breakfast choice good. Room very comfortable, quiet and spacious. The cook, an older gentleman, was particularly friendly and went out of his way to help even though they were short staffed. He even provided scissors to open the sauce packets, cleared tables and chatted to everyone ensuring their needs were met. He asked everyone individually if they wanted more before the service ended. To be praised if possible please.

The choice for vegans and vegetarians at breakfast. Suggest mushroom, tomatoes and vegetarian sausages maybe.

Bed was huge and super comfortable

Bed was either not made after last occupancy or very badly made. Sheets extremely creased, pillowcases not put onto pillows properly. Duvet not placed inside cover correctly, sheets not tucked in or fitted properly on mattress. Complained to first member of staff, who was defensive and not open to addressing issue. Asked for duty manager who was superb and sorted problem quickly and professionally.

Typical serve yourself - good but just OK. More choice perhaps and the omission of plate warmers is a glaring problem. Morning breakfast looked as though staff were struggling with supply of fresh tops up of cutlery and other items.

When it's clear you're desperate to have an earlier check in ( due to poor weather in Shrewsbury ) Receptionists should be trained to empower themselves on a guest by guest basis to allocate a suitable serviced room so that guest requirements can be met without a visible problem. Especially if weather is poor etc.
