the rooms were reasonably spacious, the bar and breakfast areas looked contemporary in design

in an almost uniformly beautiful city, the hotel is located on the edge of a bad neighbourhood that is not at all pretty and has mostly crappy shops around it. So, you will need walk across town or catch a tram to have a coffee somewhere decent. For that reasons alone, we cannot recommend it (despite the hotel itself having an interesting modern design).

This is a quirky, stylish hotel with lots of interesting architectural features. People interested in design would love it. The beds were comfortable, the huge windows in our room were glorious, and the staff were outstanding (especially Alice!). It was very conveniently located near the train station, bus stop and tram stop.

The location is not in a particularly nice part of town, though it is easy to get everywhere by tram or bus. The room had no fridge, but it did have a kettle - what if you like (fresh) milk in your tea or coffee? The glass en suite walls are a nonsense - I was travelling with a friend and we ended up draping bathrobes all over it to provide some privacy.

The decor was stunning, the beds are very comfy and the staff were super friendly and attentive. The overall vibe of the hotel was right up our street. The food was really nice and the drinks were great. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the bar each evening for a nightcap before bed.

The location, some of the surrounding area wasn’t the most pleasant. The hotel itself was super safe and after a couple of days we found a nicer route to walk to and from the centre. For the price I felt breakfast should have been included

We highly recommend Zoologie Hotel, the photos online do not do the hotel justice. The moment we arrived the service was 10/10. A particular stand out staff member was Francis at the front desk, she is generous with her time/ knowledge and very kind. Our room Z14 was breathtaking no balcony but the high ceilings and the historical windows made the room feel very special. The location is brilliant - easy to walk to trams, shops and restaurants. We will be telling all our friends. Thank you for a wonderful time.

funky, fresh decor, nice bar and Matthew was great at recommending wines. front desk reception were nice.

no access with luggage from the street, had to drag bags up stairs. not good if disabled or raining etc. room was quite noisy with traffic, people and music outside our room in the street and the park opposite as well as guests banging doors, moving furniture and yelling. no consideration for other guests. the area was not the best for easy site-seeing, but was close to the station.

The clever architecture is attractive. The dining room is really excellent and the front office staff are very helpful around the clock

The room had some difficult features: very large bathtub in the middle of the room—a shower surrounded by clear glass visible all round and water from the shower didn’t drain properly. The location is a little strange, though there is fairly close access to the excellent tram service.

I enjoyed my stay here. Loved the balcony and the spa and the bed was very comfortable. Enjoyed the nespresso machine too. Was lovely to be able to sit on the balcony with a coffee in the morning. The staff were very accommodating when there was a mistake made in my bill at the end

As a solo traveler, I would recommend taking public transport to the location as I did not feel very safe in the neighborhood. There was also a problem with the bill where I was nearly charged 50 euros extra for my spa treatment.

The building, rooms, and atmosphere were super. Gorgeous mix of old building and modern rooms.Very stylish with lots of space. Lovely terraces, shade and greenery. Lovely spa also. Good location for sightseeing and exploring Bordeaux.

There were lots of roadworks between the hotel and the train station, not the hotel's fault, but made access a little difficult. The room was soundproof, though, and we didn't hear them working.

i LOVED the room we were in… so spacious, different and original, the design was GORGEOUS with the bathtub inside the bedroom and the open shower. loved that there is a teapot and a NESPRESSO coffee machine, and i loved that the reception girls were so kind, helpful and in a good mood the whole time. WILL DEFINATELY RETURN !

the bathtub made a smell when the water was drained out, but that is surely caused by the canalisations and is out of their control

A beautiful building that had been beautifully restored so it felt indulgent and quirky without being too overdone. The rooms were really spacious and spa, although small, was very relaxing. All the staff we met were very friendly, relaxed and helpful.

Location was fine but hotel was on its own so no really local bars and cafes. We used electric scooters that were often outside to nip into the centre in under 10 minutes.
