RECEPTION - Both receptionists were delightful and helpful and spoke English which for us was very useful. LOCATION - good overall with tram stop nearby into the city. BREAKFAST - didn't have breakfast. PARKING - No problem finding a parking space within the grounds of the hotel which has a barrier entrance

No cups in the kitchen, no glasses in the room for drinking although it did have paper cups. Hair dryer would be useful.

Lovely buildings in attract tive gardens with central courtyard, felt a little like a monastery. Huge room with long high window. Ample safe parking behind main building. You don't need an alarm clock, there are very loud bells, although they are turned off at night, there is a crescendo at 8am!

No local restaurants. Only restaurants about 30 minute walk away, further than I can walk nowadays. You have to book dinner in the hotel before 12 noon on the day, otherwise no dinner 😭

Clean and quiet this hotel is a stones throw from Bordeaux which is in easy walking distance or, if you prefer, the tram runs close by. Facilities are fairly basic, and the property is authentically French. Our room was clean and tidy and the staff very friendly and helpful. Free parking, this close to the city centre was a real bonus.

My ONLY (very minor) gripe was the lack of an extra pillow.

Quiet location with secure free parking (and able to leave car there during day we checked out). Staff at front desk very helpful. Metro stop only 5 min walk away.

Didn’t realise at time of booking that no AC however fan provided. Had a small accessible bathroom which meant that toilet area was wet after shower and also shower water leaked between screen and basin area. Was a good 20-30 minute walk to restaurants but metro close.

Pleasant location away from clamour of the city but easy to visit centre with cheap regular and safe trams. An uncomplicated place to stay. Receptionist lady was very gratious and let us park car in their grounds the morning before our afternoon check in.

Booking has several reviews that are less positive than our experience. This is not a stand hotel concept but we found it a privilege to stay in such a loved building. We did follow advice to avoid breakfast and happily found a small boulongerie close to tram stop which provides fresh viennoiserie and coffee for a couple of euros.

Property is located around the B-tramway line, so I may be convenient if you plan travels around that axis. Rooms were spotless. I was not subjected to any religious proselytism.

Rooms are probably more suited as a boarding school dormitory’s rooms. There is one in the vicinity that may be a bit loud in the early evening. Bed are single sized, a bit disappointing regarding how much I was charged.

So peaceful, a car park, spacious, lovely staff. A good location 20 minutes walk to centre or could catch tram too. Good to have kitchen with fridge.

I felt it needed more colour. Even a love picture in the room or decoration. I would love an interior decorator to over do it but being an abbey it might not be allowed.

An oasis of quiet in a bustling city. Clean with good linen and comfy bed (firm). Very basic but good size rooms, no kettle, tea, coffee or toiletries and no air con. But if you are happy with this I would not hesitate to recommend. Lovely shower. secure free parking and good Wi Fi. Good continental breakfast. Very attractive cost and a pleasure to stay here

This is a historic building that has been modernised. Comfortable parking and helpful reception. We were impressed that there's lots going on at the hotel: seminars, concerts, exhibitions. But still quiet and relaxed. It's a beautiful option for staying in Bordeaux whilst escaping the hustle and bustle of the city a little. The surrounding streets are interesting with historic terraced stone houses. Good value for money. Would stay again.

If you're on foot, it would be a bit of a walk to get to the city centre or you'd have to use public transport. The amenities and room design are fairly basic.

20 minutes walk from the heart of the city and 5 minutes walk from tram stop, private car park, staff speaks English, lift/elevator, private section of the building. You can leave the car before check-in and leave it after check-out for a couple of extra hours.

No tea and coffee facilities in the bedroom.
