The property is delightful and our suite of bedroom and bathroom were well equipped. The bathroom is luxurious, with lovely toiletries and a stunning bath. Outstanding breakfast on a truly beautiful terrace. So enjoyable! Rachel is very helpful. She recommended a restaurant and a local chateaux wine festival that was a highlight of our holiday. A good location for touring the surrounding wine area and locations such as Michel de Montaigne’s Tower.

The town doesn’t have much choice of restaurants and isn’t we’ll set up for tourists.

An historic house in an excellent location - a quiet street, close to the station and just a short walk to the centre of Castillon. Plenty of parking space close by and within easy reach of the vineyards. Our room was spacious and well equipped. Breakfast on the balcony was a delight, with fresh croissants and bread, home-made preserves, fruits, cereals, juice, yoghurt and a delicious cafetière of coffee. Rachel is a charming and interesting host, happy to tell us the history of her beautiful house and to introduce us to her secluded garden, filled with the plants she uses in her work as a herbalist.

Rachel made us feel very welcome and had good suggestions. We went for a lovely walk along the Dordogne, we went to the river beach and we enjoyed our dinners in local outdoor restaurants. Castillon-la-Bataille is a nice little town with very few tourists. Rachel's house is beautiful and the breakfasts on the balcony tasty (nice bread!) and pleasant.

Beautiful tastefully decorated house in a quiet location close to bars/restaurants. Free parking outside the property. Absolutely fantastic host who had great recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing. The beautifully set out breakfast on the terrace overlooking the garden was delightful.

Very comfortable stay at La Madison Botanique. We used this as a 1 night stop over before attending a wedding at a local Chateau. The host Rachael couldn’t have been more accommodating. We had a Wonderful continental breakfast in the morning. And she offered some excellent ideas of what to do during our stay! Bedroom was very chic and the bed was great. Would defiantly come again if in the area!

Rachel, the host, was exceptional. Nothing was too much to ask - including advice, adaptors, extra hangers, even sunglasses!

Housekeeping wasn’t daily but that wasn’t a big deal. Some extra amenities eg shower cap would’ve been a nice to have.

The host, Rachel, was very friendly and accommodating. She provided a lovely breakfast and recommended local places to visit for food and drink. The guesthouse was charming and traditional, and I could have stayed there for another week, just relaxing in the garden and spending time with Rachel's cats Felix and Chablis.

The place was gorgeous, beautiful decorated and very peaceful. Rachel was an amazing host and made us feel that we were staying with a friend, also she was extremely helpful. The breakfast with the view to the garden was amazing!

such a beautiful building that Rachel has wonderfully decorated that feels clean and fresh. the facilities work great and bed was very comfortable. Rachel is a lovely host and provided amazing breakfasts and made me feel very welcome!
