This hotel has a particularly cosy and welcoming vibe - wonderfully helpful and friendly staff, it felt very personal and unique. The room was a little basic but perfectly functional - comfy bed, good storage and massive bonus having the little balcony with fabulous views over the mountains. The location of the hotel could not have been better! It's just a short walk into the centre of town with loads of great places to eat (Yak and JOIA particularly worth a visit), yet it's in a very quiet and tranquil area - directly opposite the Savoy ski lift from which you can easily access Brévent-Flégère ski areas. You can ski right up to the hotel if there's enough snow - then leave your equipment in the warm and secure boot room. Breakfast was well-stocked and the common areas of the hotel are really lovely. We particularly enjoyed unwinding with a beer on the hotel's terrace overlooking the mountains after a long day on the slopes, they even brought us some little complimentary snacks. Free and convenient parking. Would 100% stay here again!

Only a few small things: Perhaps a better hairdryer, and better tea/coffee making supplies with proper mugs/glasses rather than paper would make it feel a bit more luxurious. Plug sockets were a bit awkwardly placed and I had to plug the kettle in on the floor as the cord wouldn't reach from the table.

We loved staying here for our 4 days skiing. You had the option of either walking 20m from the ski storage room to the bus stop, and then travelling one stop round the corner to the Plan Praz lift, or you could pop your skis straight on and shuffle across the grass next to the hotel and grab the button lift up to Plan Praz. Both were very convenient and you were at the lift within a few minutes. The buses did get very busy though so we preferred the button lift option. We also liked the breakfast and the proximity to town without it being super noisy.

The WiFi was a little unpredictable and the bathrooms could do with updating; I think there was a problem with the drains in ours, causing a bit of a strange smell.

View is fantastic from balcony, there’s parking available and you are about 5 max 10 minutes away from stores and restaurants. Room facilities are a bit outdated, but it is very clean and very quiet.

We wanted to leave the car in the parking spot for another 30 minutes before leaving as we wanted to have breakfast in Chamonix, we had 2 hours more before check out but handed out the key so they could clean. The rude woman at front desk asked us to take the car from the parking spot after check out and would not let us leave the car for another hour, very unprofessional behaviour from her part.

It is a well taken care of hotel, in a beautiful and superb location: walking distance form the pedestrian area of Chamonix, but quiet with a view on the paraglider’s landing area and on the mountains. Parking on the premises. Ski and separate boot room, lovely sunny lounge with nice drinks, i loved the vin chaud. My room was at the top and it was a spacious and cosy room with a beautiful view. Everyone was very helpful and kind and they went out of their way to help me when i hurt my knee and had limited mobility. The hotel has personality: please don’t change it!

The coffee and the absence of a fridge in the room.

The location was ideal and the views were spectacular. The hotel faces a field where there is always a lot of activity from people walking dogs (and even ponies) to frequent landing of paragliders - this is where most of the pilots land. It was an easy walk into the bustling center of Chamonix and to the Avre River and to some hiking trails.

The hot water in the shower took a long time to become warm (like 5 minutes or more) in our room, so it would have been nice to have a warning because the first evening we thought that we had no hot water. After we realized that was the issue, no problem! Other than that the shower was very nice.

Amazing, personal, beautiful hotel with a beautiful view of the mountains. Sits practically on the Savoy ski area. Staff are all in good spirits and help you in any way they can. Sauna and hot tub are a plus especially when it’s calm and you can reserve when you feel like it. Panoramic breakfast room to start the day well!

Wouldn’t mind if the breakfast crew would do their eggs & bacon a little better. Coffee aficionados like me rather make their own after breakfast.

I was truly delighted by Chalet Hôtel La Sapinière. I wanted to find a reasonably priced hotel that was close to a lift, close to ski buses, an easy walk to downtown Chamonix, and with an amazing view of the mountains. Chalet Hôtel La Sapinière was absolutely perfect. It has that wonderful casual feeling that you don't find in a corporate hotel (I especially loved the cubby boxes where you drop off your key when you go out for the day). Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful, especially Mandy (sorry if I'm getting the name wrong). She gave me directions and bus schedules, found an extra pair of gloves when ours went temporarily missing, and helped cancel a lunch reservation when our group was having trouble meeting up for lunch. We had a triple room that was small but comfortable. I didn't mind the size because it had floor to ceiling windows with an astonishing view of the mountains. One warm day we had lunch on the balcony. I appreciated the kettle for making tea. The bathroom was newly renovated. The boot warming room and ski storage room were very convenient. We enjoyed reserving the jacuzzi for after dinner. Breakfast was delicious, in a very large, beautiful room. It wasn't a huge selection, but everything was excellent, especially the croissants and bread. There were concerts in the lobby bar two nights we were there -- people seemed to be enjoying themselves. The nursery slope lift wasn't open in late March (no snow!), so my plans of walking to the lift or skiing back were foiled. You could probably walk to the Planpraz gondola, serving Brevent, but the bus stop is literally in front of the hotel, and it seemed to come every five minutes. The bus stop for other ski areas was only a block away. The hotel is just off a main street, with plenty of shops and restaurants within a few blocks. If you don't like a quirky old building, this isn't the place for you. But I hope to be back!

Location is great just a few hundred meters from center. Rooms have decent size, we were traveling with a 4yo and had a separate space for sleeping in a single bed. Bathroom is big an comfortable. Also has a great jacuzzi outside with a great view. Staff is helpful and kind, and also breakfast was good for the price.

If you come by bus at Chamonix Sud Bus station, and with baggage, it's a 20 minutes walk. Hotel could have given instructions how to get to the hotel using the local bus (They didn't know even after we get there how to properly take the bus, timetables, and so on). The city has a strong position on sustainability and don't traveling using your own car. Staff should know inside out every way to get everywhere.

We loved our stay at La Sapinière to see in 2025. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was really great and they couldn't have been kinder. Everyone who helped us was fantastic. The communal areas of the hotel are cosy and clean. The hotel is in a great location near lots of different ski buses and just a short walk into the main town. Ski hire shop is just around the corner and shops, bars and restaurant are a short walk away.

Nothing!

Great location for heading to town or ski school especially if you have kids. ESF is right in front. Town is 2 min walk. For the main cable car you either have to take savoy button lift that connect to Planard gondola. Or you can take bus right opposite hotel. Or you can even walk to Planard gondola but it’s an uphill walk.

No dinner and swimming pool, but the town has loads of amazing options. Hotel has a free jacuzzi.
