Check-in was very fast and efficient - and friendly. The room was plain but very roomy. Breakfast was ample with a good selection of hot and cold and cereals and coffee on demand - no waiting for refills. The breakfast room looked out on a pleasant little garden. The hotel was very quiet and beside a pleasant marina. It was reasonably close to the quayfront restaurants and beside the cathedral. It was open 24 hours.

Probably the worst thing is there is no lift, although it is a low-rise hotel and the staff will carry luggage up to your room. The room itself had bars of soap and a shampoo dispenser but no moisturising cream, shower cap or hair conditioner. There is no public transport available at all in the area and taxis, which were an absolute disaster in Cherbourg, took 20 minutes to arrive after being called. Reception gave us a long speech about how this was due to the bridge being up but we had just walked over the bridge and it was down! You really need a car to stay in this hotel. The 'luggage room' was a cupboard already full with no lock or security check on the bags being taken away.

We have frequently used this excellent hotel while visiting friends in Cherbourg. As always, we were welcomed by cheerful staff (even though a late ferry meant that we arrived after midnight). The prices are v reasonable, so close to the town centre and the sailing harbour but with a wide open space of grass in front of it, and convenient parking in view of the hotel. The facilities are plain but well kept and very comfortable. Though this time we took breakfast with our friends at their home, we know the beakfast is excellent.

The weather!

Very helpful receptionist. Seeing our age and luggage, changed our booking from 1st to ground floor (there is no lift). Also gave information about nearby restaurants (all within a few hundred yards). 10 minutes from ferry.

The hotel has no car park but there is lots of well lit public parking within a hundred yards and within view of the hotel. The breakfast was fine but without a lot of choice. Cherbourg is digging up its roads so there may be disruptive roadworks nearby during the week (we stayed on a weekend).

The best part about this property is its staff. Every person I encountered from the hotel was very courteous, helpful, and kind. Although there was not time to partake of it, this hotel offers a good assortment of beverages from their bar. With a longer stay, I could easily imagine enjoying a cold beer or cider on the terrace. It’s a very short walk to see the surrounding harbor & even with the road construction happening throughout the town, it was easy to walk to the local shops and restaurants.

We liked the twin beds and also that there was room for a coffee table and armchair. The bathroom and toilet were separate,which was nice. The room was clean and smelled nice. The beds were comfortable and breakfast was plentiful.

There was traffic noise from the road, unfortunately we could not close the window as it was too hot in the room. We would have liked a ventilator in the room as it was very hot.

Extra large spacious room. Extremely comfortable bed. A bath!!! Hurrah. So few hotels offer a bath these days. Staff genial and friendly. Enough towels. Enough pillows. Good pillows. Fridge for drinks .complimentary water and plenty of tea/ coffee. Breakfast plentiful but a little disorganised.

Couldn't master AC - so room stuffy because reluctant to leave window open at night as I am a single woman on the ground floor. Breakfast a little disappointing... Sausages were frankfurters and eggs congealed. Tea very weak...and long life milk in room curdled in the tea. Entrance to hotel not signposted from road and busy traffic made finding entrance a little nerve wracking.

Great location for us as it’s near the ferry port, and a dog friendly hotel. The beds were very comfortable! My sister was assigned a disabled room on the ground floor for her mobility issues with a bathroom very well set out in her opinion. She also had her two small dogs in the room (they were allowed in the breakfast area in the morning). We used the free parking facilities very close to the hotel.

Friendly hotel staff with easily accessible free and stress-free parking adjacent to the hotel: Ideal for onward travel. Self-service breakfast 'hit the spot' and the rooms were quiet, comfortable, well furnished and clean. Good location for getting some fresh air along the harbour wall and only a short walk to the town centre.

Good parking opposite hotel, comfortable bed, very welcoming reception staff and a good location - just a short walk to restaurants and bars of Cherbourg. Convenient for the ferry port.

Breakfast looked a bit tired, particularly the hot selection and more particularly the eggs. There was plenty of choice however.
