The breakfast was excellent… continental affair with fresh baguette and local jams & yoghurt… also complimented with artisan local fruit juice and exceptional coffee… served by a lovely lady who was very friendly and hospitable ….. the hotel is a traditional budget hotel which is being restored to its former glory by the proprietor Vincent. He is amazingly professional, polite and welcoming (and also speaks excellent English). We had all the creature comforts in our room which ensured we had a very comfortable stay in the centre of Narbonne. The location is dead central with easy access to the local eateries either side of the canal and the local historical buildings. All top drawer and we’ll definitely be back.

My Wife and I arrived on bicycles after a long day on our bikes and Vincent the owner contacted us by text to give us information on hotel access, so we didn't have to worry about arrival time. Our bikes were stored in a safe secure area and we collapsed into our lovely large room. The hotel is right in the centre of Narbonne and a short stroll from all sights and restaurants. Vincent's colleague, Claire was very helpful identifying all the places to visit including the Charles Trenet museum and we enjoyed chatting with Claire about our visits. Claire was particularly considerate in listening to our efforts at speaking French. Loved this hotel and our stay was made all the more enjoyable by Vincent's and Claire's enthusiastic help and welcome.

Fantastic location near to Les Halles which was a wonderful experience. Great walking everywhere. And good humoured, helpful staff. Close by to supermarket to pick up snacks or picnic goodies and drinks.

Tricky access as did not have local phone or recent wifi message availability. Did t have door code in advance so was simply lucky that someone exited the building so we could get in and get our ‘envelope’ of instructions and keys as no one on reception upon our arrival. Clarify access before arrival.

Super helpful and friendly staff made our stay very relaxed and easy. They gave us an excellent restaurant recommendation and advice about where to visit. This hotel has easy parking and is only a short walking distance of the city centre. We felt at home and enjoyed the free tea and water in the lounge. Our bed was really comfortable, our room was quiet and breakfast was a delicious treat. We'd love to stay again. Don't hesitate to book!

The decor is a little dated, but this is a gem of a hotel!

This hotel is very well located just off the main bridge in Narbonne. The staff are really friendly and helpful and provided us with information when requested. We arrived just before lunch closure, but they allowed us to change out of our cycling gear and leave our bags until later when the room was ready. Tea and coffee are free all day in the breakfast room and there's a little patio to sit outside. Claire and Dylan, on reception, were exceptional and worth a mention.

The rooms are a little tired but clean and functional.

The hotel was situated just off the main part of the city in a quiet street. It was in the middle of being renovated, but the rooms and bedding were exceptionally clean and the staff were very helpful and cheery. Breakfast great value and everything was brought to our table. Would definitely recommend the Hotel de France.

Nothing. It was perfect.

We liked it. Easy to check in. Dylan the owner, was found very polite and accomodating. There was a nice small refrigirator. The room was comfortable. TV worked fine. Shower was good, with good water pressure. We were able to get a free parking spot very close to the hotel.

It is an older building that is undergoong improvements. Little noise initially but got quite afterwards

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent - just across from Les Halles and the canal, and very central to transportation. The shower is nice and hot, and the a/c in the room was a bonus.

A charming family-run French hotel. The host went out of his way to provide information and be helpful. The room was quiet with good facilities and the breakfast was delicious - fresh and local. The location is central.

The free wifi was poor, but the hotel owner provided a work-around. The shower and bath are old fashioned but manageable.

Beautiful room, very generous size, everything spotlessly clean. Ao Air conditioning everywhere, very important in a heat wave. Excellent communication and availability of staff when needed, fantastic location right near Les Halles and all other attractions. Merci beaucoup.
