I’m honestly so excited to write this review. My husband and I are currently on a 2 week Europe trip. Paris was the second leg of our trip. I searched high and low for an affordable hotel option. Hotel Icône keep coming up. The reviews scared me a bit but let me tell you if you are looking for a budget friendly hotel in the perfect location this is the perfect spot if you know how to manage your exceptions. We stayed here for 4 nights for about $500 which is very low for a hotel in Paris in the summer. So we weren’t expecting a 4 or 5 star resort. We got a clean room with a balcony that was close to the metro and in a nice area with lots of food options. If you know you like all bar in the lobby, a rooftop pool, a huge bathroom, etc. This is not the place for you. This is the place for people who want to experience the city and need an affordable option. The staff was very nice in my opinion. Please manage your expections again. If you give positivity you will get positivity. I left some stuff in the room during my stay and didn’t realize until I got to the train station. They were nice enough to go up to the room and bag everything up for me for when I got back. I would stay here again.

Could use some upgrades but can’t beat the price.

Everything. We are an older couple travelling on a tight budget. The hotel outstripped our expectations for comfort and value for money. It’s location, a 25 min walk from the louvre and l’Opera is very convenient and there are public transport stations close by as well as a fine range of boulangeries, cafes and restaurants. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, from the cleaners to the concierges, Ben and Frederick. The 12 euro breakfast was astonishingly excellent with a wide range of food stuffs and drinks available from the buffet. Hotel Icone enhanced our stay in Paris. We can recommend it highly.

Excellent staff, great location, clean rooms, comfy beds, nice bathroom.

My only issue was the shower - it was a bath with a shower hose but no shower screen nor fixing for the shower hose. I cannot recall whether this lack of a proper shower was mentioned in the advert (not something I usually double check!) I managed to shower but with great care. If we had planned to stay for more than one night it would have really bothered me. An easy fix for the hotel I am sure, not sure if this is just an issue with the room I stayed in.

The property was great value for money! The staff were super friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again. It was great that the property had lifts.

My husband being rather tall hit his head a few times because our room was triangular so there was exposed beams but other than that we loved our stay!

We were looking for a good, mid-range hotel, with decent amenities and pleasant staff. Hotel Icone met those expectations. As with all small hotels in Paris, the rooms are small, but ours was comfortable and clean. The beds were very comfortable. Staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. There are two breakfast options, one that is just juice, a croissant, and coffee, and which is reasonable. There is a nice sitting area downstairs, with a great music feed. It is a nice place to have a glass of wine in the afternoon. We were within easy walking distance on the the Opera Garnier, and a Metro stop, as well as lot of restaurants. It met our needs perfectly.

The wi-fi set-up was a bit of a bother. You could only have one device on-line per email, which meant that we were constantly having to do a time-delayed reconnection as we switched from phone, to computer, to e-reader.

The hotel is great for the price we booked it for. Location is very big plus here, it is close to the opera, louver and other of the most famous landmarks you would like to see. Staff was very friendly.

The room we stayed in could use a bit of a renovation. The walls should definitely be repainted and furniture was somewhat worn out. That wasn't a problem for us however since the beds very quite comfortable and the room was clean.

Bathroom was small but cute with lovely Paris street scene in the shower. Photographs of French artists/ actors throughout was cool as recognised a few. Location was handy to everything we needed to do. The staff were lovely and helpful.

The rooms are quite noisy, especially the doors would bang shut. You could hear people talking in the next room.

Great central location 10 minutes walk to Opera and lots of bars, bistros and cafes nearby. All staff members were exceptional, nothing was a problem and they had great advice when asked. Bonus for us was the “simple” breakfast of baguette, jam, coffee and orange juice for only Euro 5.

The room was smaller than appeared in the photos but that’s Paris.

Comfortable room in quiet street next to the Opera Comique. Several metro stations close by. Helpful staff. Would visit again.

Just the one night there was a rooftop party across the street. Well that happens in a big city, nothing the hotel can do about that. I just closed the windows. Not really cheap but hey, everything is expensive nowadays.

Lovely boutique hotel where we were made to feel very welcome. Loved the decor of the whole hotel. Big bathroom with double shower and a bath! Foyer area very welcoming spot to sit and relax, or play cards and drink champagne as we did.

Little squishy when bed was turned into two single beds. Only one mirror which was in the bathroom. Bit tricky for two women getting ready each day.
