The hotel was of a very high standard right in the middle of the town. The hotel facilities were some of the best I have come across. A great deal of thought has gone into providing everything a guest might require. Lots of extras. A great deal of thought has gone into the design and layout of the building. Our bedroom was spacious, clean with lots of cushions, electric points as well as a mini bar and magazines. The bathroom was a wet room and very well proportioned with lots of additional toiletries. Breakfast was excellent and served in a lovely conservatory. We will definitely return.

Beautifully renovated old building, tastefully decorated, our room looked out onto the side of the church, which felt we were immersed into the medieval heart of the town. The bed and linen were good quality and very comfortable. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and had a good shower. Breakfast was delicious, all local fresh produce served in a bright breakfast room. The hotel is just around the corner from a lively square full of restaurants and bars. The owner helpfully valet parked our car for 5 euros which was perfectly acceptable 😊

Location Location Location. 20 metres from the church square buzzing with bar and restaurant tables. 3 minutes walk down to the river. A 10 minute climb to the Chateau and exceptional viewpoint. (There's also a little road train if you don't want to climb the steep steps) The hotel is traditional. Clean and friendly. We would stay there again.

We liked all. Some people might find "Classic Double" room a little small, but it's functional with a nice shower-room en-suite and met our needs and expectations. Parking is not guaranteed immediately outside the hotel, but you can unload if necessary, and there is plenty of free parking by the Riverside, 3 minutes walk away.

I stayed for three nights as a solo female traveler traveling by train. Hotel St. Pierre is absolutely central in the old town of Saumur. The location could not be better. The hotel itself must an ancient building, which did not detract from its comfort or accessibility. I was only able to reserve a room with twin beds on the top floor. I loved the medieval windows opening, with a glance to the left, to a stunning view of the chateau. I loved the espresso machine. I loved the robe and slippers. I loved stepping out of the front door of the hotel and immediately seeing the gorgeous St Pierre Church. I loved the friendliness of the host and staff. But most of all, I loved the breakfast. I took a picture of the breakfast to send home to my American friends to make them jealous. It is well worth the extra cost: croissants, pain au chocolat, good coffee, a crepe, an apple tart, yogurt, bread, butter, jam, and best of all, 4 different kinds of cheese. Enough said.

The only extremely minor criticism I have is that the mattress was a bit soft, but I tend to like a really firm mattress.

Hotel St Pierre is a treasure and an oasis in the heart of Saumur. We loved the attention to detail throughout, the warmth of the welcome provided by Régis and the quality and care that went into providing a sumptuous breakfast with the highest quality local and organic ingredients. All together, a very tranquil experience in a hotel where personality shines. Thanks again to Régis and the whole team. We have already recommended to friends and family for trips taking them through Saumur!

The HSP is like your own private luxurious castle room and only a short walk up to Château Saumur, the main attraction in this wonderful village. We hardly wanted to leave the room. Even in 5-star venues you seldom get a handsome fireplace like we did here and it was filled with objects de art and decoratively lit. The bed and linens were inviting. I loved the wallpaper, drapes and decor. The service at the Reception was knowledgeable and beyond the ordinary with assistance. The location just off the main plaza is convenient to all the action of the Saturday market or Friday night outdoor cafe scene—and the room was amazingly quiet. We enjoyed numerous cafes and restaurants. The shopping is sophisticated. Saumur is quite the place and the Hotel Saint Pierre is perfect to relax and enjoy the enviable Loire lifestyle.

A real find - such a beautiful hotel in a perfect location in the centre of the town next to good restaurants and bars. Parking was easy on site - the owner was there to welcome us and take our luggage to our room which was warm, beautifully decorated, quiet and comfortable. We had a huge walk in shower and there was always plenty of hot water. I can thoroughly recommend this hotel for location, comfort, service and facilities. Thank you for making our stay in Saumur perfect!

From the moment that we arrived and the host personally helped us to park, we were treated as valued guests. This is a lovely building in the heart of Saumur, with loads of character and features to delight. The interesting and eclectic decor gives it a great atmosphere and the convivial host helps to make the stay a memorable one. His little bar with scores of whiskies and other delights is a real treat after a night on the town. Sound advice on where to eat was appreciated, as was the extended parking to allow us to see more of the town on our day of departure. Our room was small but well appointed with a compact yet very modern bathroom in contrast to the vintage/historic decor of the bedroom itself. We were very happy with this stay and strongly recommend it as being ideally located, good value and a little out of the ordinary - but in a good way! We'd be very happy to return.

The room and the whole design of the hotel were extremely well thought out and the quality of materials used was of the highest standard. Breakfast was superb even catering for my gluten free needs and there was so much we could have done with a larger table. The location was ideal, beneath the chateau, close to the river and the museums. It was easy to find by car and the parking arrangements were fine. All the staff were friendly helpful and able to provide advice and suggestions.

The hotel is gorgeous and very well located for exploring Saumur on foot. It is just off of one of the main squares with lots of restaurants and shops. But even so, it was very quiet and though our room was at the front, we were not disturbed. The rooms seem to be very individual and ours was beautifully decorated with lots of toiletries, tea and coffee machine etc. The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately we didn't have breakfast or have a drink at the bar but I would certainly do so if we ever go back. The hotel has a small car-park which is free and worked very well. I wish there was a St Pierre hotel in every place we visit.
