We loved this hotel. The color schemes, decor and layout were just our style. The resident kitty is also such a sweet touch. Coucou, Prada! Our room was spacious, clean and had plenty of space for arranging our belongings. The air conditioning was glorious after numerous hot days of sightseeing and stuffy buses and trains. The location was great - a few steps of off Rue Colbert with its restaurants, bars and shops and within walking distance to the historical sites. We had brought some take-out back with us for dinner and there was easy access to silverware, cups and such so we could eat in the courtyard without having to bother anybody to make it work. We slept really well. The windows were insulated to keep out the noise of the street and the blackout curtains made it a pleasantly dark, cozy nest. We will definitely stay here again if we get the chance to visit Tours in the future.

I can't help much here because there isn't anything I didn't like. You do have to take the stairs up to the rooms but the staff will help you with your bags and they're wide stairs for being a spiral staircase so that wasn't a problem for us. They do make the stairs abundantly clear on the listing so those with mobility issues can be fairly advised. We'd 100% stay here again.

Charming hotel in the middle of the city center with a creative atmosphere and non-generic design+support. Very good service for the price and location.

Parking difficult, as previously mentioned. The paid public parking is costly but easily reachible by foot. Many rooms open their windows towards the street with quite some noise until late night and early morning. Guests who prefer fresh air over air-con should ask for rooms towards the backyard.

Everything! The proprietors were charming, the hotel decor tasteful, and the location was on point. You are steps away from a street with a multitude of restaurant options offering outside seating, a grocery store and Laundromat. The hotel can easily be reached from the train station on foot. I wholeheartedly recommend making the Hotel du Cygne your primary location, and opt to easily day trip to the neighboring Chateaux by train. They also welcome dogs.

Warm welcoming hosts, excellent renovation of super old building - they are clearly proud of their work and the (small) set up. Lovely vintage crockery at breakfast , and super quality items - Mariage frères teas, and Angel cake ! And - don’t worry about the stairs - hosts carry your luggage and the water pressure in the shower was great !!

Nothing ! Even climbing the stairs ! Travelling solo female I would have preferred a little honesty bar or limited apéro offering. You can bring in any purchases. (There are plenty of cafes and bars within yards) but after a day travelling a glass of local wine in the lovely courtyard would have been better.

Ideally situated in the middle of Tours, the Hotel du Cygne is a really charming hotel. The owners were friendly and helpful, recommending a number of restaurants and sights upon our arrival. Our room was decorated stylishly, with an extremely large bed and a big bathroom (including a fantastic shower!). The breakfast featured an extremely wide selection to choose from, including fruit, pastries, yoghurt, coffee - more than worth the small additional cost. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Hotel du Cygne for anyone looking for a break in Tours!

An old hotel with stairs that creak in a good location next to the old town entertainment strip and easy walking to the river. Staff is helpful and volunteers to carry luggage to room in lieu of actual elevator. Had a generous morning breakfast that set us up nicely for the day.

no elevator and not 24hr open front door, so call ahead if arriving late. Streets are narrow so passenger dropoff/pickup can be a problem and limited street parking may require use of nearby multistory park.

Nice location and helpful staff. Close to Colbert Street (Rue Colbert) where you have many diverse and good restaurants (Indian, Lebanese, French, Turkish), and a Carrefour express nearby. In between Tours cathedral and Rue Nationale where you can take the tram and go shopping if needed (Hema, FNAC, Zara, C&A). Honoré Le Boulanger is a must-go for croissants and pains aux chocolat.

There is no elevator going up to the upper floors.

We were only staying in the hotel for one night, but I wish we'd been there longer. It's a curious mix of funky and ancient. Great location. By the way, there are multiple really good restaurants 20m away. Check them out too, if you can. The hotel rooms are comfortable, and quiet at night. The shower is good. The breakfast is GREAT, varied and 'help yourself'. The cat was quite engaging too. There's free parking about 250m away, and all in all it's a great package. I should have said that the guys running the hotel are lovely too...

We were on the second floor. The stairs is a bit of an upward grind, but we knew that in advance. Apart from that - and in fact the stairs are quite pretty anyway - it's perfect.

We love this hotel and its style and the location is terrific. Breakfast is excellent too. The owners are friendly and helpful and overall it’s a favourite stopover.

Love the decor generally , though the room we stayed in this time (1) wasn’t our favourite, being rather functional and clearly designed for wheelchair users. Unlike in the rest of the hotel, the Wi-Fi didn’t function properly due to the room being across the courtyard.

Very well designed rooms and coherent hotel concept. We liked the cat. Comfortable room and bathroom, the room on the small side though. Nice lobby and breakfast room. Good breakfast service. Very supportive staff.

Only paper cups for coffee and as toothbrush cups if I remember correctly.
