This hotel was/is a gem -- literally 100 yards from the best ski slope. Great room (walls are a little thin!); great ski locker/boot warmer; location near not only ski slope, but also center of Val d'Isere village. Best of all, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful -- remarkably so; the breakfast is superb, and the dinner offerings are excellent. It is also an economically priced facility. We loved Val d'Isere, loved the skiing, loved the hotel -- we will return, even though the resort, being high in the Alps, is not easy to get to!

Room walls are a little thin (we could hear the gentleman next door snoring) and given the popularity of Val d'Isere with young British travelers, things can get a little noisy late at night.

That was my second stay at this hotel and the main reason is the perfect location. Ormelune is a ski-in hotel and to reach the slope is not a big issue, just a 100 meter walk. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the breakfast is not bad. Both room sizes (on my first and second stay) were okay, not too big, but big enough to provide a comfortable stay. Don’t expect a luxurious accommodation from Hotel Ormelune, it’s a proper hotel with good staff, decent rooms providing you a “value for money” stay.

Nothing really.

Excellent location within five minutes walk of the ski lifts. The hotel is beautifully decorated. The staff were very friendly and the food was great. We really appreciated the hotel opening the kitchen for us on our late arrival to help us with food.

The rooms do not have air conditioning and they can be quite stuffy. The air is incredibly dry - all of our party woke every day with dry sore throats. In room humidifiers would be a cheap and effective way of addressing what we viewed as the only real negative at the hotel.

The hotel location is great. The food at the hotel is good and the choice of breakfast is good. There are plenty of staff always on hand to help with anything your need. Whether working on reception, waiting on or cleaning rooms all staff were a credit to the hotel.

The boot room is small and gets very busy.

Great location, friendly staff, spacious room with lots of storage, hanging space (for ski jackets, helmets) and even a line for hanging up hand washing like ski socks! Well heated ski lockers were another plus - no damp boots. Loved the quirky stuff like the jolly cows.

Breakfast was good but not much by way of healthy low fat options other than fruit. Some nuts, low fat yoghurt, low fat milk or almond milk would have suited me better.

Central with access to both the town and straight on the slopes

Our room was really nice but a little on the small side this wasn’t an issue for us but compared to our friends room it was much smaller.

Well laid out buffet breakfast with good variety. Very helpful and cheerful staff. Use of luggage room with showers to change after a day's skiing having checked out earlier.

Bedrooms too warm, typical if alpine accommodation. Slight smell of drains at one point in basement ski room

The staff were helpful, but the bar area had no atmosphere any night we went in there so we ate out.

Shame about the lack of atmosphere downstairs.

Breakfast was great, location great too. Our family room suited our needs perfectly.

The room was very hot. I woke up each night, in the middle of the night, and had to open the door for a bit to cool down.
