Beautiful hotel, comfortable room. Nice balcony (with caveats). Excellent restaurant.

smoking by others in neighbouring rooms' balconies required us to shut our balcony door/windows. (besides disturbing others, it's an old ancient wooden building... it makes NO sense to allow smoking anywhere)

We stayed for 2 weeks in the 2 bed room apartment and it was large and very comfortable. The modern and well-furnished apartment is equipped with everything needed for an extended stay. An added bonus is the building is directly across from the grocery store! There is plenty of living space and the outside area very nice for meals or enjoying the weather. The staff was very responsive to any questions and concerns. The refrigerator was not keeping food cool enough so they provided a small refrigerator to help keep food colder. They promised a replacement but they were unable to secure a new unit before we left.

Absolutely nothing! However, a washing machine would be a nice addition!

No elevator at the apartments. Location is 100 m past the main hotel across from the supermarket at the far end of town. Bacharach needs to think about banning vehicle traffic on the weekends. It is very crowded with tourists. Many vehicles trying to speed through and so many motorcycles

We had a small bedroom apartment with a very complete kitchen, bathroom and small balcony. We were impressed with the kitchen as it had everything my husband needed to cook and keep leftovers in! The staff was very helpful and were able to provide laundry service (for a price) as we stayed 12 days! The grocery store is literally 60 steps away and Kleines Biergarten which had craft beer and excellent food was even closer! There were no noise problems even with the trains constantly going by. The train station is a 10 minute walk away. We highly recommend this property for a short or even a long stay!

The Superior Double Room with Balcony was excellent. The hotel is very centrally located in the town and having the balcony to sit out on was superb. The Breakfast a is very good and the the Breakfast room is gorgeous, you are allocated your table with a name card being placed upon it.

Check in is at 3:00 which is fine, but the hotel reception door is locked before this time. As we had luggage and travelled by train we had expected easier access to the hotel to just drop off our luggage. We did manage to gain access via another guest entering and the staff were very helpful once we gained entry and they even allocated us our room before 3:00.

The hotel was beautiful, especially the breakfast room which was breathtaking. Breakfast was great too, all staff we saw said hello and were very friendly. Checking in and checking out was very straightforward and the location of the hotel was ideal for exploring Bacharach and beyond via the RheinBurgenWeg.

The only negative we had is more related to other guests than the hotel itself. We had to close our doors and windows quite regularly in the evening as the guests on the balcony next to us started smoking and the smell seeped into the room even when we had the door and windows closed.

This hotel was simply beautiful. Well decorated, comfortable, and very clean rooms, each with a balcony overlooking the street and all the old shops below. The location can't be beat, either. Bacharach is small, so there probably isn't a bad location, but shops, parking, restaurants, etc. are all just a few steps away from Altkölnischer Hof. Breakfast was quite good, as well. The usual assortment of coffee/tea, juices, meats and breads, etc. We really enjoyed it.

For whatever reason the hotel censors the internet. YouTube was in restricted mode, Reddit was completely inaccessible, and any site with content that the hotel deems "adult" was completely blocked.

Everything. This was a very nice hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the apartment was roomy. The kitchen was clean and very useful. Everything about this place was excellent. We walked from the train station and it was not too far. The hotel is centrally located. The people who work there are kind and professional and helpful. There is a grocery store across the street.

This hotel was excellent. Maybe I would ask them to post signs on how to turn on the heater. It wasn't too cold but just a bit in the evening. The little screen in the kitchen was probably meant to be interactive. But we don't speak German so we didn't use it. It would be nice if we could have chosen English.

Beautiful property, with comfortable rooms. We had a room with a balcony, which was quite large with a nice table and chairs. A great place to chill out with a bottle of local Reisling! Comfortable beds, and plenty of storage space. The bathroom was well designed, with a decent sized shower, all kept lovely and clean. No air con, but there is a fan in the room. Very peaceful and quiet. The breakfast room is beautiful, with dark wood furniture and medieval paintings of Bacharach around the walls. Breakfast was nice with coffee served to your table, which made a nice change from the usual coffee machines! All staff were friendly and helpful.

The bathroom door was made of frosted glass so it was slightly see-through, so not much privacy! Also, at night if one person uses the toilet , the light in the bathroom shines through the frosted glass, which could wake up the other person.
