Great balance of charm and comfort. Large rooms. Plenty of storage. Very clean. Good breakfast.

Road noise and train noise. Hotel is right between the Main Street (which people drive down often and very fast) and the train tracks. You can’t sleep with windows open if you are a light sleeper. AC us 10€/night and not adjustable. You have to tell the front desk what temperature to set it to.

Great location. Good breakfast options. Spacious and clean room. Big telly (with exposed HDMI connections so we could watch movies from our iPad) and lovely bathroom. All in all a good place to stay.

Slight confusion over aircon: it’s available, but only in certain rooms and at additional cost. We were aware of this, but confusingly we were assigned an upgraded room on check-in, which was lovely, but the new room didn’t have the option of aircon. Luckily our visit didn’t coincide with a heatwave so this wasn’t an issue. Unfortunately our room offered terrible Wi-Fi connectivity despite it working fine elsewhere in the property. Not having tea / coffee facilities in the room was a little disappointing, but the provided fridge proved very convenient during our stay.

Perfect location. The reception staff was wonderful and very helpful. Room was large and very modern. Breakfast was very nice and had everything you would want.

I wish it had a coffee machine, or wasserkocher. Beds were a little uncomfortable. For a small, quaint village there was quite a bit of noise from cars going by all night. It was warm, so we had the windows open at night and that's why we heard the cars.

Location could not be better. Looking out the window and stepping out the front door you are transported in a time machine back to the 1400's- it's an awesome experience. This is what vacation is all about! Hotel is literally across the street from Alte Haus. 2 min. walk to Park in front of Rhine where river boats dock. We liked the fact that it was quiet and could get a good night's sleep. Breakfast was outstanding. Service was very good. We drove from Frankfurt airport, and it was easy to find. We pre-arranged parking and had a personal car garage with opener assigned to us upon check in. Individual garages are literally next to the hotel so no lugging around suitcases.

The only negative and it's a little one really is that the shower door leaked a little bit. This happens quite a bit in Europe though due to scissor type shower doors used. Quite minor.

Large room. Comfortable bed. Good Wi-Fi. Great location. Public car park 2 mins walk away, if that, €4 per day or €10 for ten days. It is possible to pause and drop luggage off right outside, not sure if strictly allowed, but did it. Lovely helpful welcoming staff in breakfast room. Fridge in room. Decent shower pressure for a hotel.

Terrible pillows, huge and like bags of air. Room 4T Very leaky shower caused a flood every time it was used. No lift, ok to first floor but would hate to drag luggage up several floors, request first floor room if this would be an issue. They did have seem to have their own hotel parking garages in the adjacent road, but I think they were about €9 per night, and the public carpark is really close. There seemed to be an on-site restaurant but couldn’t find any information about it, and didn’t eat there.

My husband and I loved our too-short stay at this beautiful hotel in Bacharach. The staff were very accommodating (we had to catch an early train the last morning and were able to check out without any problems the day before). Breakfast was bountiful and delicious. The room, an unexpected (and fabulous) upgrade, was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The shower had wonderful heat and water pressure. We can't wait to return!

This is not the hotel's fault, but Bacharach seemed to be shutting down for the season when we were there in mid-late September. Restaurants and shops were short-staffed and closed early, but again, this is not the hotel's fault.

The attic suite had fabulous views. Bacharach is absolutely beautiful and this hotel a fitting place to lay your head. Breakfast offered a varied spread with particularly delicious fruit bread for toasting and yummy jams made from local berries. Try to make time to walk the hill behind the town to see the gothic ruin, the castle and the vines.

If you book a room in the attic, on the 4th floor, you will see that there are the different rooms, some with big windows, and some with small windows. I had a room with small windows, and it was l dark inside. In addition, as the windows are quite high, one doesn't really see anything outside. There was no kettle in the room to make tea, or coffee machine to make coffee

The room was fantastic - very comfortable beds and the view was absolutely spectacular! All of my negatives about lugging suitcases up the stairs was overshadowed by the room and the view.

It was a big staircase with 4 floors to this room, but they make this very clear in the description and it is worth it.

A beautifully finished room in this hotel, looking out on very old, partially timber framed buildings opposite. Exceptional breakfast is served with the usual continental options and some hot food. Bacharach is a really pleasant place to stay with loads of character. A walk around the town's walls & towers is a great way to soak it all up. Some really interesting places to eat/drink in town. Parking is just a short stroll away outside the town's walls and costs a mere €4 per day. Railway station is about a 5 min walk.
