Lovely Hotel in the middle of the old center, with special touch and fine quality of atmosphere. The Hotel Location is really good near all shopping areas , restaurants and bars. Parking - the hotel provides discount for parking in a park house near the hotel - you will need to ask for an extra ticket for the discount from the reception. Room - Nice room on 3rd floor with a balcony, double beds and bathroom which was OK.. Breakfast was lovely! with unique dishes and lovely tastes, Coffee was made by the bartenders by your request. Hotel Staff are great and smiley Hotel Design from outside is unique and charming

Hotel lobby needs a bit of refreshment in the style. Room was ok however pillows are not so quality. Checkout it at 11:00 without extra free stay for 1 or 2 hours. they are very strict. Balcony is not separated from other rooms - less privacy in the balcony. bathroom was ok, it could be a bit refurbished.

This was much nicer than I expected. Very comfortable room. I really like having the mini balcony. Coming back for a midday rest, I could sit out there and sip a drink. The breakfast was quite good. The staff remembered your name and drink order. It's in a pretty decent area or getting around most anywhere you'd like to.

Really, I can't think of anything I didn't like. Uhh, a few steps on the second floor was inconvenient to drag my luggage up ... ? That's really about all I can think of.

Breakfast was fantastic (huge selection and very tasty) and most of the staff were superb!! The location is ideal, so central but also peaceful. Rooms were clean and nicely laid out. Been to Freiburg many times and this was our favourite hotel so far.

One terrible staff member at breakfast. Shocking level of service - a shame as all other staff members were attentive and fantastic. Would have liked for more / better pillows but I didn't ask for any so that's a small thing!

The hotel is located in the historic district and everything is in walking distance. The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff members were always very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were very good and offered many varieties of different foods. During our 3 week trip we stayed in several different hotels, but this was by far my favorite one.

We parked our rental car in the nearby public parking garage and didn’t know about the hotel’s discount card that would have reduced the cost of parking.

The location is very good and the room was quite adequate and what I expected in an old building like this. The bathroom was excellent as was the breakfast. The staff were very nice and helpful.

The room was very hot and the small fan was not really adequate. The window blinds were not very effective, so I had to wear an eye mask. Unfortunately there was a festival in the street outside my room with a band for 2 of the 4 nights, but I appreciate that the hotel were not responsible for this. The wifi did not work at all during my stay.

This hotel was great. It is in an historic building and very charming. It's very close to the Oberlinden tram stop in the altstadt. The breakfast was wonderful - 2 kinds scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, assorment of cold cuts including salmon, rolls and croissants (so flaky), yogurts, jams, veggies and fruits, juices, tea, coffee. Everyone enjoyed it.

The hotel is not air-conditioned, which is very standard in Europe. So that's not a complaint but rather a point of information. The street can be noisy well into the night, so a white noise machine might help.

Well, this is the oldest Inn/Guest House in all of Germany and you can literally feel the past and it’s history. The bar and restaurant area which also serves as reception is very beautiful and everything is tastefully decorated, and downstairs there is even a small museum. All the staff are kind, cheerful and very helpful. My room was quite small but cosy, and doors open onto an small outdoor patio area. The bed was very comfortable. Cable TV with mostly German programmes but they did have BBC World and CNN etc. My only disappointment was that there was no internet connection in my room and I really did need to use it for work.... however, I could use the internet downstairs in the restaurant/Bar area. Again, the staff were very helpful trying to get me connected in my room, but it was impossible.

No internet connection in my room so had to go downstairs to the restaurant to go online! This definitely needs to be addressed by the owners.

The location of the hotel was excellent smack bang in the center. It was a nice spacious room and it was very clean and the staff were very pleasant also it is very quiet and I couldn't hear any traffic so I had a good night sleep

I thought the breakfast was ok but they didn't have bacon and sausages to have with the scrambled egg so that was a bit disappointing but then they had cold meats and cheeses etc

Great location in a fab town. Parking was very close (300 metre walk through cobbled streets). In 2 minutes you’re in the main cathedral square. Breakfast is superb, lots of choices. There are plenty of interesting shops around and a cracking wine bar opposite.

We should have asked for an extra pillow which was our fault.

Great location - an easy walk from the train station through the beautiful old town of Freiburg. Super close to shops and restaurants. The hotel is in an amazing old building - it's been a hotel since 1120, and there is a museum in the basement.

There isn't really a reception. Instead the restaurant/bar staff also operate the reception. As the restaurant/bar isn't open on Mondays, there wasn't really anyone there. Not sure if this is the case for other nights too. It's not a big problem, but I think it's good to know in advance.
