Hotel is in quiet outskirts of Munich on the edge of the Isar Valley. It is at the end of the tram line which runs into Munich. It is about 3 minutes to walk to the tram, further at the other end but by the river and in a nice part of Munich. (We could even swim in the river). The hotel itself is part of an old castle. Eggs were prepared fresh at breakfast. We were travelling with our son who had an adjacent and closely integrated room which was perfect.

There was no air-conditioning so the windows had to be thrown wide open as it was a hot summer night. Breakfast was okay but could have been more inspiring

The (twin) room was very good and spacious with a decent sized bathroom with shower. Continental breakfast was provided, with a lot of choice including cooked food. The restaurant was very popular even during the week, and although i did not pre-book a table for dinner, i was still able to get one at about 8pm - and the food was very good!

Unfortunately there was no air con in the bedroom, however a fan was provided and the window could be opened.

The Schlosshotel is a historical and charming destination in a quiet neighborhood that also provides a clean and comfortable room. The front desk staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. I can't say enough good things about them. We also appreciated the attached restaurant. Good food and good service there.

Everything was perfect. The waiter greated us by name every morning for breakfast, which was superb. The on-site italian restaurant was also very nice, offering an excellent choice. Our suite was very comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

Outstandingly friendly staff! All so kind and helpful...I was greeted by name every morning I came down for breakfast...I've never had that happen before. Front desk staff were very helpful and just so kind!

Internet in the rooms was very weak...it is an old hotel with thick walls so it is tough. There are things that can be done but overall, that was the only thing that could be improved.

That was the best hotel during our trip to Germany! The main plus is the people who work there - polite, try to solve all the issues. And also I'd like to say that the restaurant is amazing - the food is delicious and the waiters are super cool! Thank you!

Loved the location! Superb to have a base for short trips by bike or foot. The river banks are just a 5 Minute Walk away. Ila, the manager was brilliant; always available, friendly, energetically helpful and full of Italian Charme! Perfect stay in a wonderful historic building. Will come again!

Traditional inn. Cozy and very nice sights. Friendly and helpfull staff. Tasty italian food at the restaurant.

The restaurant in the hotel and breakfast was excellent. There were a lot of options for walking in the nature

The restaurant and the location are both exceptional. The hotel, being an old villa next to the town's castle, is filled with little nooks and crannies: delightful. Grunwald is known across Germany for being a better version of Beverly Hills, CA, and it didn't disappoint.
