Holiday Inn Hamburg - City Nord, an IHG Hotel

The best Holiday Inn we have stayed in and probably one of the nicest hotels in general. Staff were very polite and helpful, loved the gym facilities and the restaurant/bar downstairs. Also, really liked the little tick cards available in the rooms and looked forward to a little treat every morning. Free on street parking directly outside the hotel and lovely views from the hotel windows. Lifts were quick and reliable - been to a few hotels where the lifts just don't work properly.

Parking is 20euros a night if there isn't any on street parking. Also breakfast was very expensive (20euros) per person. No oat milk in bar so was unable to have a hot chocolate (not the end of the world but would've been nice). Parents and brother stayed in another room which was a little cramped with three beds but again probably can't be helped.

Access a slow walk less than 10 mins to trains for airport and city. Excellent choice for breakfast and plenty of people eating to avoid stale items a big danger with so much choice for any diet. Clean and no sound in rooms from close lifts and corridor. .

NO INTERNET IN OUR ROOM!! =TV all German channels unable to accsses other. Contacted reception by phnoe from room about problem told to scroll channels but not able to sort. Wobely side table dangeorous to spill hot drink. Espesially we had 3rd bed settee so close but noticed just before placing hot drink on it Receptiontoo busy in the morning to inform staff of issue . Sorry. about that problem.

Lovely breakfast buffet with a wide variety of choices, including omelettes made to order. Air conditioning in the rooms. Choice of hard and soft pillows. Quick checkout - just put your keycard into a box if you've already paid. Free shuttle available to/from the airport using electric vehicles. Not close to the city centre but located in a commercial district which was exactly where I wanted to be.

Some dust underneath a bed. Sound of lifts going up and down audible from a room across the corridor from them. No bottle of water on the desk (which I would have expected at that price point).

very nice, clean & comfortable room. tasty breakfast and fantastic staff working at breakfast time. miss information on the reception desk about fact that children need Covid tests which caused problem for our family.

We took an executive suite, which had a beautiful view over the nearby park, but the room itself was a little bit disappointing because of the 'cone' part of the building, which is narrower and 'eats' space. We stayed there for a night before hitting the road off to Kiel on the following day. In this respect, the hotel was very well located (close to the highway). Otherwise I would not recommend it to those who want to see the city - it's just too far from everything.

Restaurant (breakfast /dinner) is a nightmare. A long queue to get in (make sure you get up early to avoid it). Staff not organized. Breakfast very crowded, noisy. Dinner very expensive compared to very little portions we got.

quite small window to open - a bit warm in the room; the feeling of indifference (no soul touch) in the room design; not sufficient amount of seating places, furniture to put the stuff on or in; the room is much smaller than it looks on the photos )

Great room with super comfy bed. Perfect location to visit a concert at Freihlichtbuehne at the Stadtpark. The staff was super friendly and had a nice welcome note handwritten in the room :)

Restaurant times were unfortuantely not matching for us... when we arrived for lunch they were closed. They only open at night, but when we came back from the concert they were closed already, also no bar available. Such a pitty, as there are not many things at all around that area. At least they have an emergency fridge with beer and sandwiches for (expensive) purchase.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The stay was very comfortable and the hotel is located in a calm place. There was plenty of space to park our minibus car just outside the hotel as the parking on the streets is free.

The breakfast charged at 22 Euros per person, is not good enough in terms of the variety provided. As even the standard options of scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon were not prepared well. The eggs had a smelly texture, the sausages just didn't taste good, and felt of cheap quality as they were dry and boring. The same with the bacon as it was over fried and hard as plastic. All other hot food dishes were underwhelming. There was just a meager section of baked foods that was just about okay. So the overall menu felt way too expensive for the amount charged. We ate there two days and the end feeling was the same.

Very nice hotel in Hamburg. Staff was very helpful and with smile. Breakfast was very rich with big choice of food. Gym open 24 hours and my wife use it a lot after long day in the city. Parking fee 20€/1 day is very good for Hamburg. The room was clean and big enough for 3 people. I can recommend this hotel for your stay in HH. We Will come back for sure.

The room we booked was quite spacious, the view was nice, the windows really big, the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and quite big for a hotel. Overall great hotel!

The only thing we did not really enjoy was that the AC was quite noticable. Not really loud but hard to ignore. Also we did not end up booking the breakfast as it would have been 20€ per person.
