The hotel is just a 5 minute walk away from train station Hamburg Dammtor and from the congress center CCH. While our room wasn't big, it offered everything we needed or wanted: Comfy beds, bathroom with shower, a (small-ish) desk, power outlets, free WiFi, a wardarobe and one of these metal-and-sturdy-ribbons things to put an open suitcase on. It's cool that one can opt out of daily room cleaning and daily towel changes to save resources and the environment. (Even if one does opt out, one can of course request for clean-ups on any day as-needed.)

The room door isn't soundproof at all and the (probably fake-wooden) flooring in the hallway made it impossible to walk there with your shoes on without making significant noise with each step. I thus sometimes at night or in the morning heard other guests come and go, and was kinda afraid to wake up other guests when myself returning late at night to our room. (Once I took my shoes off already in the reception area to be able to walk that hallway more quietly.)

The location close to Hamburg Messe (5min walking) and not far from the center is very good. The receptionists were kind and helpful. The room was very spacious.

The hotel is a regular building where they have repurposed several floors as different small hotels. Not including breakfast for 300€/night in such a hotel is embarrassing.

Room was very spacious. The high ceilings made the room feel a bit more elegant. Breakfast had a fair selection of items. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast had a fair selection of items. The price point of 20 euros per person was a little higher than expected however it was convenient to have breakfast at the hotel. At night one can hear others walking in their rooms due to the wooden floors. However, we were able to mask this noise by using a white noise generator on our iPhone. The hotel also had an inner courtyard which allowed for plenty of light into the room. The inner courtyard had growing plants but did not appear to be well maintained. Having an accessible private inner courtyard with a small garden would be a nice touch.

Room was very clean, hotel was very clean. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Great central location, close to trains and buses, said walk to the Alster - yet in a quiet, safe neighborhood. Instead of a mini-bar, there was a separate room offering cold drinks, snacks - at very reasonable prices, which was great. Continental breakfast; fresh cheeses, meats, smoked salmon, pastries, etc. Good value for money. Very comfortable stay, would definitely stay there again.

It was all good. I would always prefer a bigger room (and a swimming pool!) but this was great for the money.

I had a great short stay here, the room was cosy and clean, the bed was big and exceptionally comfortable. The hotel's team is very kind and helpful. I didn't take breakfast as I was having one in the cafes not far from the hotel, there is a mini-bar, i didn't use it either as I was doing my small shopping at the Dammtor station, but I think it is useful in case of emergency. I was also impressed by how good the plumbing facilities were although the space between the sink and the door is quite limited but it was not a dealbreaker for me. And for those who are easily disturbed by the sounds: well, it is not a modern building, so obviously you might hear your neighbour closing the door or people walking upstairs but honestly I cannot get how it can be dramatic. The street is very very quiet, there is hardly a car passing loudly next to the building and you can hear birds singing in the morning. It is quiet. Overall, cannot wait to come back and thank you for hosting ! Vielen dank !

A small kettle in the room would be a plus !

I had a wonderful experience. The staff is fantastic - so generous, kind, and friendly. The room was quiet, pleasant, and extremely clean. The location is great - there's a stunning park just a few minutes from the hotel that you can also use for sports or simply to read a book. In general, it's an area that feels pleasant and comfortable even during late hours.

Truth be told, everything was great. The only thing I missed for a longer stay was a refrigerator

The location was ideal and amazingly quiet -- despite being near the Dammtor rail station. Also, the best bed and bedding I have enjoyed in a long time (thinking of Swiss hotel in the 90s). The duvet and pillows were excellent quality. Also, the people at the reception were exceptionally helpful (tips for restaurants including how to eat Scholle) and very quick (also during those managing reservations when I was asking to extend my stay while traveling). This hotel is the most praiseworthy hotel I've encountered in decades. Really exceptional.

Very classical style hotel. Generally, everything was clean, and I enjoyed the stay, It is surrounded by facilities of University of Hamburg, and environment was nice. Moreover, the location was very convenient, and It was close to Damtor station and the CCH.

Breakfast was good, but 20 Euro is too expensive. The walls were thin and I could hear the noise from the next rooms. Actually, I had several zoom meetings at midnight during my stay, therefore I'm worried that I may have disturbed the people in the next rooms.

1. god location: near Hamburg university 2. very clean. 3. spacious room with a single bed.

1. not 24 hours reception. I came back one night at 23.00, but the key card did not work to open the main entrance. I phoned staff and I was told that I will be arranged to another room. It means I will not have access to my stuff such as pajamas or tooth brush. such inconvenience! luckily, it didn’t happen as other guests came back and helped me to open the main entrance door. the day after, I showed reception staff that my key doesn’t work to open the main entrance door. staff also felt surprised.

Breakfast options may have been increased to Mediterranean cuisine rather than to German tradition, there was no lobby or working space especially when housekeeping cleaned your room except the restaurant. Need voice isolation for the walls so you can hear everything from the next room especially if some noisy people are staying right after you :). But all in all, I liked the hotel and the stay, perhaps I can come again
