It was not the first time year although the last stay was dated before covid and it was good to see that the level was still the same as before. The rooms are always clean, well equipped and comfortable, the addition of the kitchenette is always a plus and also the fact that there is no carpet. At the reception everyone is always very cordial and professional and they even offer drinks for free, quite unreal in these times. I strongly recommend this place if you need to stay near the train station or the surroundings. The Turkish restaurant at the 1st floor always appreciated.

The Steindamm area is never the best place in Hamburg although rarely dangerous. This hotel is at the verge of the squalor of some of this area but keeps the level up and you don't notice anymore once inside.

Close to Hauptbahnhof station, restaurants, markets, bakeshops. Ethnic neighborhood. Soundproof windows & walls! Secure & heavy duty doors - prevents noise from dining room or wafting of food odors. Secure front/ elevator/ doors from public. Room temp well regulated, comfy bed. Welcoming staff. Cool water, drinks offered free. Wonderful Turkish food brunch for a reasonable price.

Tight space. No luggage racks, chair. Dim room lighting. No shower guard - splatters to toilet floor. Limited coffee type selection.

Really comfortable beds and very clean. Lovely walk in shower. Secure underground parking for motorbike. Excellent Turkish restaurant next door. Coffee machine, fridge and safe in room.

20 euros per night to park a motorbike was a bit expensive but at least we knew it was safe. We stayed here twice on a trip to and from Sweden. The first time we'd booked a medium sized room but it seemed rather small and didn't have space for chairs, unlike the photos! We raised this with the management and they gave us a free breakfast. On our return stay we booked a small room as it was just one night, and this time it seemed larger than our previous room - and had 2 chairs!! Bizarre, but we'd stay here again as it was otherwise great.

Even though we arrived before check-in time, they delivered the room as ready, they didn't have to do it, I think it was a great courtesy. The room was spotlessly clean and our room had a terrace. There was a coffee machine, pod coffee, water. in addition, you can get different drinks from the lobby area for free.

Our room was on the first floor, the restaurant floor. There was a very bad smell of food. We booked it because it was close to the central station, we were going to stay only for 1 night. but it is definitely necessary to stay away from the central station. It is a 5 minute walk between the hotel and central station, but if you return at night and leave early in the morning, I am sure you will not like the profile of people. Everyone is on drugs. The hotel was very nice but I would never stay on that side again. It was scary!

The hotel staff were friendly, check in and out was easy, free sodas available at reception. Coffee machine, Sky available in the room, so we were able to watch the Premier league. The Breakfast was superb, I loved it. Turkish arrangement, from salads, dips, fantastic bread. There was still enough available fo the standard German Breakfast.

A coffee machine for breakfast would be preferable. The location would not be for everyone, it is a quick walk go the main station, bus stop and underground. Although it's a 20min plus walk to the attractions of Hamburg if you don't use public transport.

The location is nice although there are too many drunks and homeless around a few steps away from them and still safe. There is a front road that is clean and safe and away from the chaos from the hotel to the main train station. The hotel is very safe and clean. Everybody was very nice. I definitely can stay here again. The room heating is also very nice, and adjustable. Complimentary water in the room and an every afternoon free drink is also not very common but very nice gesture for Germany. Thank you.

The rooms are very comfortable with good size windows, so natural daylight was great! Having a mini bar and coffee maker was convenient. You can have water and sodas just going to the front desk to get them!! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is good, however there is one street almost in front very crowded with many veggie and markets.. but if you use the opposite side you avoid them. Back lava restaurant near by is a great optionfor meals.

Stay! Hotel Boardinghouse is located in the largely Turkish dominated district to there were some great eating spots within a 100 metre radius. In fact, there is a Turkish restaurant underneath the hotel, which has a small unobtrusive entrance and a small lobby before spreading out to 6 or 7 floors above. This hotel represents very good value with spacious air conditioned rooms, a clean, fresh streamlined look with modern Scandinavian timber influenced furnishing, it’s a 5 minute walk to the central railway station, excellent wifi, Nespresso coffee maker, a complementary bottle of sparking water each day and a complementary soft drink/water each day. Very helpful reception staff. Quite marvelous really. We Stay!ed five nights.

The room was really cozy looking, the bathroom was amazing too. When traveling alone it puts your mind at peace that you can only get inside the hotel with a key after 20. The area is a bit sketchy but didn’t feel unsafe. Very close to the hbf! I loved the light behind the headboard of the bed!

The bed was extremely hard, and on my second day roomservice gave me dirty duvet cover. I didn’t reach the hotel until 23.30 where staff is long gone, so couldn’t tell them about it. I mean they were clean but there were some old dried up stains. The hotel entrance is very small and dark, I spent 10 minutes walking around outside in the dark, both sides of the road and around the building.

fantastic rooms with a nespresso coffee maker and a kettle with free tea and coffee pods. modern tv with USB ports. comfortable beds, double glazing and a great aircon system meant a good nights sleep. staff were very friendly and helpful. huge breakfast available in the hotel at extra cost. good Turkish restaurants nearby and a Lidl and easy walk to Hansa square nearby, the central railway station and the metro.

area isn’t great to be honest but it’s more messy and untidy than dangerous. not somewhere to walk around alone with your phone out but perfectly safe if you just keep aware.
