I really liked the digital check-in. When it is time to check in, you get a link and WhatsApp with the door access code. That's it! Checking out is as simple as following a few rules (don't leave dirty dishes behind, have the bin liner ready for collection) and leaving the room by 10am at the latest. Modern bathroom with walk-in shower. Wi-Fi fast enough for YouTube. 32" flat screen with accessible HDMI input for laptop or Chromecast.

No place to store a bicycle. But after seeing the site, you can't deny that there's not even room for a small bicycle stand. The Blankenese area is very dense, and there is not much room for cars either. On a hot summer's day, an air conditioner is something I would miss. The mattress was a little too firm for my taste, but not terrible. The kitchenware included pots, a pan, a few plates, spoons and forks, but not a single knife (bring your swiss army knife!) No direct light near the kitchenette, only ambient light (use your phone's flashlight!)

Bed was nice and comfy and the location superb. Room was otherwise clean but there was sugar on the night stand. The hallways don’t get cleaned. I would have preffered a water kettle over a fancy coffee machine that’s not properly calibrated in my room. You can use it without a coffee pod to get hot water, though, which is not ideal. Wifi was a joke, and not a funny one. Restaurants in the neighborhood aren’t open every day so you may need to have breakfast/dine at the center. If you plan to walk back in the evening, bring a headlamp because the alleys get quite dark.

what a wonderful hotel with so much attention to detail in the very recent complete remodeling! Outstanding quality from the front door to the shower head. Beautifully styled and chosen tiles, hardwood floors, colors and so much more ! The location is just wonderful on the waterfront and in walking distance to Blankenese itself!

well, knowing now that it got just recently taken over from new owners, it will certainly become more and more popular and we do wish and hope that eventually there will be people (actual staff) at a front desk/ reception to add to the impression we had when we first spotted it. it would be just wonderful to round up the fantastic impression with a life person to ensure check in and advice for helpful things in the area and for a lovely stay. we got to meet the wonderful owner from the restaurant right next to the Strandhaus - she deserves a lot of credit as her restaurant has outdoor seating and she has wonderful menus for dinner and breakfast..

the location has a strong nautical feel abut it and is a beautiful part of Hamburg. the property stands right in the middle of the promenade and commands a direct view to the sea. It is very well furnished to a high standard and has a remarkable common balcony, which overlooks the beach. there are a few restaurants nearby, which are a bit pricey but have good location.

in the particular room we had 204, the cupboard hindered the movement when the sofa bed was opened. one does nor heed a full width cupboard, just half the width would have been sufficient.

super easy online check in. spick and span and sooo quiet and elegantly reseeved mood. River Elbe right in front of the hotel, so we could enjoy a picknick as well. Highly recommended.

Small things failed: great bed but huge pillows which were hard to handle. Great shower/bathroom, but nowhere to place things in shower/ not enough hooks to dry and hang things. Cosy room, no hangers to hang things, only 2 hooks. Nice coffee maker with 2 small cups, no water cooker (we used the stove, took 20+minutes), no teacups.

The location is great if you would like to have more of a relaxing and quiet stay.

There were quite a few bug in the room if you leave the room window open at night as they were attracted to light but they stayed on the ceiling.

Neighborhood was good and quiet. Room was nice. Contactless check-in was working. They have only sent the necessary info and nothing more.

There was a really loud fan in the bathroom. It woke me up occasionally in the middle of the night. It needs to be replaced! Stayed here 2 nights. No one came to empty the trash cans.

Our room was newly renovated, modern and clean. We paid a little extra for the river view and it was worth it - so relaxing to watch the water with the huge ships passing by. I was worried when I saw we also overlooked the restaurant, but noise was not a problem. We had dinner there and the food was outstanding. Communication was great and check in was easy. We appreciated being able to check in early when we arrived sooner than anticipated.

The house number could be more prominent. We couldn’t find the entrance - you must go through the outdoor seating for the restaurant - and we accidentally ended up in the neighbor’s driveway. There are a few little things needed to finish off the room - a toilet paper holder and a larger trash bin would be nice. A small fridge and kettle for hot water would make the room perfect. The listing mentions breakfast is available on the property - that was not an option - and the nearest bakery is 1km from the property.

Very Clean, German "near perfect cleanliness" - basic interior, all white, easy mechanical check-in, quite complicated instructions but manageable. Amazing location, directly in front of the water.

Staff is minimal, focussed on the restaurant - the instructions of checkin using Homaris are complex, you may find it too complex if you are not German - it was fine for me.
