Pre arrival support was amazing. Our train was severely delayed and missed the connection to Cologne. Frank on reception answered all my hurried messages on the way, suggesting other routes to get to Cologne and reassuring us we could get in if we made it (we didn’t). Being Celiac often breakfast is yoghurt and fruit, but the hotel had GF bread rolls and a great scrambled eggs option. Usually I don’t bother to pay extra for the breakfast but the offer was really good value for me. Super friendly, helpful staff, everyone that worked there made our lives easy.

The only thing,and this is really not a problem, was no tea and coffee making facilities in room. This is outweighed by all the other great things about the hotel.

Loved the service, very friendly welcome and excellent breakfast. Scrambled eggs made fresh were delicious! The bed was really comfortable and the room had lots of natural light and a good shower. Loved the easy access to our room and the building using our phones.

Only a few minor things, there was so mirror in the room except the one in the bathroom. Very basic toiletries in the bathroom (just one hair/body wash combo - no conditioner) The general look of the hotel was slightly dated, shabby. I think it's a stretch to call it a boutique hotel. Although they had made an effort to make everything look nice.

It's been great from the very start with a very warm welcome (including espresso ;), no problem with leaving our bags that we've found later on in our room! The room was quite small but very comfortable (last floor, but with elevator and air conditioning). Location is super fine, close to a key shopping street, 20min walking from the Cathedral. We enjoyed breakfast - fair enough variety, including srambled eggs done on the spot.

Although people were super nice, we had two occasions when we've felt like 'forgotten'. There's no one during the night in the hotel so we were to open entrance through the app (which is not a problem). But it did not work. So we needed to call the emergency number to open it remotely. And the next day we were not on the list for breakfast (despite the fact that we had paid beforhands). There was almost nothing left and when we asked, we were shown a spreadshit with a big questionmark by our room number (how come?). Then it was quickly prepared, but the feeling was awful. And when we were leaving, we needed to say again that the breakfast was paid already. All in all everyone was super nice, but it didn't feel like we were taken care of/that planning was under control.

Great location. My car stayed parked at a nearby parking garage during my stay. I was in town for a concert and was able to get a taxi both to and from our meeting point with ease. The rest of my time there, I spent on foot. Plenty of shopping, food and things to do within a 10 to 15 min walk. Breakfast was great, my bed was comfy, linens clean but the best part was how kind and attentive Frank and the rest of the team were. It was like staying with a friend.

Nothing really. There are certainly some imperfections here and there but most of that adds to its cozy charm.

Small, warm and cozy room that has just everything you need for your stay(the bed was very comfortable)! We had a balcony with a view to one of the cathedrals nearby. The location of the hotel is just perfect - very close to restaurants, bars and public transport. I really like the fact that the owners of the hotel decided to preserve the old wooden staircase of the building(there is an elevator don't worry). The staff of the hotel is great - very friendly and open, they explained us a lot about the surrounding area and places we can visit.

Maison Marsil is different from the usual hotels, with its vintage furniture and a charmingly old-fashioned ambiance (in a good way). My room was large, quiet, and had a balcony shared by several other rooms. I had to work unexpectedly and requested a room with a desk one day before my arrival, and they were happy to accommodate my request. Last but not least, the location is excellent; it's not too close to the Rhine, but it's in a great spot in the real Cologne, away from the tourist center.

Some renovation and change of bedding seems like a good idea.

Friendly and co-operative staff, beautiful room with an outside terrace, fabulous shower, comfy bed, big TV with international channels. VERY relaxing at the end of our 10 day holiday in Germany.

Location is a 20 minute walk from old Cologne, but is much closer to the main shopping area. Quite a few immegrants hanging around in some of the squares in Cologne. We did not feel threatened, but we were extra careful in public spaces. Our room had a hob, but no pans to use on it ???

Very clean and the scent of the toiletries, detergent and cleaning products was very nice. The room was very clean and so were the common spaces.

The induction plate in the kitchen didn’t react to the press of any button. There’s an entire booklet about the hotel style in the room, but no instructions how to use the induction plate or wifi password. Sure you can ask the reception for directions, but it would be nicer if they would proactively provide them. It feels a bit like the advertised information is only for topics interesting to the hotel owners, rather than beneficial for the hotel guests.

Hotel location is excellent, we easily walked everywhere. It is very central located and in a good part of the city where you can easily find shops and restaurants etc.. public transport is also nearby. The hotel it self was also exceptional, checking in was easy, staff is friendly and everything went well.

Nothing to complain about.

Great location, big comfortable room with excellent bedding, feels offbeat and stylish, good support for guests considering the place is small (eg spare keys for when they are out). Neumarkt is very handy. Staff were really welcoming and helpful about the city.

The wifi was patchy especially in some parts of the room, like by the sofa!
