Excellent value for money. 30 minute walk / 15 minutes by public transport from train station. Grocery stores nearby to pick up any forgotten items. Friendly welcome. Accommodating - not only was I able to leave my luggage before check in, but it was put into my locker in the room for me once my bed was ready. I requested a lower bunk which was provided. Communal space available with free coffee/tea/water (in a city where I was often frustrated at how reluctant anyone was to give me tap water!). Access to a kitchen at specific hours. The bathroom spaces were clean and well stocked with toilet rolls. I never had to wait to use the facilities despite the hostel being fully booked (I shower at night, and was up around 9am, so dodged both the early risers and those in need of recovery time, but still impressed that I never had to wait despite it being full). The small bedside ledge, lamp and socket within the little curtained sleeping cabin was really cute.

I was well prepared based on the description and reviews, but to reiterate - it is over a fun, popular, pub, so it is loud into the "wee hours". Some extra hooks to hang jackets/towels etc would have been useful. Aside from the socket at the bed, there were limited charging options in the room (though plenty others available in the communal spaces). Recommend getting a plug with 2+ usb points if you have a lot of things you want to charge overnight. I also travelled with a small travel fan. The room was really warm, and I think I would have struggled without it - and that was with the temp being low-mid 20s (though muggy), and sleeping with the window open.

We stayed in the red Jimmy room. The room had a cool rock vintage theme, it was clean and comfortabel. The bathroom was clean, nice showers. Cozy vintage theme in the whole building, near by the city. Lots of shops and restaurants.

No free parking in the street

I arrived unexpectedly late: my flight was delayed, so I was totally exausted. But even at midnight I found an open kitchen with hot water and microwave - so I got an opportunity to warm my meal and boil the tea. Marvellous option! The other guests whom I met were delicate and friendly. Although there was a bar in the same building I didn't get any inconvenience. All rooms are stylished to a certain theme - all different and really well-done! Highly recommend this place: it's not cheap for this type of accomodation, but definitely worth its money.

The only thing which I would like to be changed is the supply of towels: now there are none. But being a budget traveller, I didn't carry mine.

Firstly, I arrived late due to making a mistake with my timing. Despite the fact I arrived at 2am, the hostel sent me late check-in information and the staff welcomed me warmly. The beds were very comfortable and I loved the little curtains you can pull to give you some privacy. Including a locker key with the room key is genius. The ability to access free water, tea and coffee, and to pay for other drinks easily makes everything more convenient. The location is superb, with nice little quiet squares close by and close to the main station.

The location is really convenient. Just about half an hour away from Hbf. There are also two stations that you can easily walk to, and a Ubahn station. The next street is a main street with lots of restaurants, so not too worried going back in the evening. Restaurant and bar downstairs also open till like 1am. I would suggest though to go back via Heumarkt instead of Neumarkt if you are a girl going solo at night, and still try not to go back after dark just in case. The staff is friendly and helpful. Hot water always at supply and community kitchen is great. The bathrooms are lovely. The beds, although in a shared room, worked amazingly well. Definitely would stay here again when I visit Koln again. The place is so cozy! Please keep it up.

There may be a bit more dust on the floor at times, but understandable given so many people walk around, and luggage in luggage out. And the floor towel could look a bit cleaner but these are all just really trivial stuff that doesn't affect my enjoyment here.

Bed was very large and comfortable. Curtains for every bed were very good. I used also that curtain area to dry my clothes. Closets were also very specious. Good location. It was cool that there was comunity food which could be used and I did not had to run straight to supermarket.

It would be better if kitchen would be open during day. The WC and bathroom facilieties are quite limited in 6th floor. For men there were one toilet in my side and one outside in staircase. There are also only two showers. I did not had any problems with accessing them when needed but for the number of people staying that was not a lot. Windows were not fully openable for people staying. That ment that in morning it was harder to let in clean air from outside. Good that I was not staying in any of beds by the window. There were no blinds and it would make harder to sleep in morning.

The room was really clean. The different themed rooms were really fun. The one I stayed in was ballerina themed. The staff was also really lovely and helpful.

The shower situation was a little odd. The toilets were out of service so you had to walk through the lobby to get there. Also the seperation between the showers and toilets was odd. I burnt myself in the shower as it was basically boiling water. Also the location was a bit far out, it definitely could have been worse, but it still wasn't right in the centre.

The rooms were quirky and well designed loved the curtains so you could have privacy. Beds were quite big and comfy, I slept like a dream with my earplugs in! The staff were so friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed chatting to them.

There could do with maybe one or two more showers/toilets upstairs. But mostly there was always one free, and they were clean and spacious. The bar is absolutely crazy rammed and lively, so difficult as a solo traveller to make friends there, much easier in the community kitchen, or in other quieter local bars where you can hear your conversation!

The property was lovely and I really enjoyed staying here. First time in a hostel and based on this lovely place I would 100% stay again! Clean, quiet- lovely location.

Getting a letter from someone who stayed in same dorm complaining about me and one of the other girls chatting at 9am on the morning. Left me a rude letter saying next time book a private room and not a shared room as we should be quiet. If she is reading this (as she left the letter when I was out and then had already gone home) it was 9am in the morning it’s perfectly reasonable to talk to another guest. Maybe you should follow your own advice and if you want zero guests making zero noise you should book a private room next time and not a dorm sharing with others. Not the fault of the hostel just one selfish and entitled person.

The beds were huge and the pillows were amazing. The staff is friendly. The hostel is located in a perfect spot and an easy 20 min walk to the riverside. The facilities are clean and although I didn’t have breakfast there were tons to chose from and drinks were great. There’s a comedy club and a bar downstairs. There’s also boards games. The girls bathrooms are very small which is a shame. But the shower room is great, it’s spacious, with a hairdryer and really good water pressure. However, our room wasn’t looked - you didn’t need a key to open the door, it would just open, this could’ve just been the room I stayed in not sure about the others. Super big lockers to put your stuff in. Overall get super comfortable, safe and happy.
