I have stayed at Hotel Königshof many times. It has old decor but it really clean and all the staff with the exception of one were wonderful, helpful, friendly and efficient. I am used to the small lift so that did not bother me at all (but I did not have many suitcases or a pram etc to take upstairs). I was given a single room on the 4th floor with only one step to climb after gettin gout of the lift. It was facing the courtyard (no pretty picture) but very quiet and I could sleep with my window open. The breakfast was good (same every day) except for sweet buns, or confectionary. The location is excellent and the train station is very clean and no drug addicts hanging around. Amazing how Mainz does this as other cities do not manage this. Lots of places in the station for buying meals, fruit, etc. (I especially liked the Tai place). As well as shopping places and a chemist. The hotel is on a little shady square with restaurants and tables outside. I sat there twice enjoying a meal at the place across the road. All in all it was a really good stay of 5 nights.

The Wifi access needed to be changed 3 times that was a bit nervy. The one unfriendly lady at reception was in connection with that. She made me go downstairs so she could help me with that but once I was there she could not help me because I had a Mac and proceeded to blame me for not informing her I had a Mac. But she never asked me about what kind of laptop I had. She was extremely rude and continued to make me at fault the whole time I was there.

Lovely hotel right in the centre of Mainz, virtually directly opposite the train station. All the staff were really nice, actually genuinely friendly and very welcoming. I had an inner courtyard room at the weekend (Friday and Saturday nights) and there was virtually no noise, although there is some bustle in front of the station at night, but not aggressive. I requested an early check in which was available when I arrived, additionally I could leave my Rucksack during the day after check out. Good breakfast too. I would gladly stay here again.

Very central, right across the main train/bus station. Restaurants, supermarkets and tram outside the door. We had a triple room that was very large, airy and had 3 proper beds. Great selection at breakfast! Plenty of choice hot or cold. Great selection of coffees and teas, fresh fruit, vegan options and beautifully buttery scrambled eggs! Lovely friendly staff at reception too!

Because it is so convenient and central it is also a bit noisy. We were there at a hot night and kept the window open for air. Otherwise the windows would have been quite sound proof.

Loved the location across from the train station. Breakfast was very good and served in a lovely room. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. My room at the back was clean and comfortable. and quiet, as per my quiet room request.

The one little thing was that my room looked out onto neighboring apartments and I felt like I was invading their privacy to some extent when they were on their little balcony. But that was a very minor issue!

My goal in choosing this hotel was to facilitate an easy arrival after overnight flight into FRA. Arriving at Mainz central the hotel is just steps away across the street. Would work equally well for a departing flight; trains leave every half-hour or so and take 30 minutes to the airport. Breakfast was large and varied and the staff was friendly and available. Good-sized room, all very nice

Family hotel with a cozy, somewhat melancholy mood. Excellent beds. As I have to go to Mainz for business now and then, I will return this one (though usually I am not the one who makes the reservations).

Elevator does not correspond to floor levels, so you need to carry your luggage. Outside the building construction works are going on, so the view is not quite elegant (nevertheless, no noise).

Very nice hotel right opposite Mainz main train station. Very nice staff, excellent breakfast, comfortable beds and newly renovated bathroom. The room itself has the 1970s decor, but was clean and comfortable.

Although the WIFI is free and very good, you are given a limited access for less than your stay - I stayed three nights, but got wifi for two days which means it switched off the night before my departure when I was checking the options for my morning train departure.

The hotel is very handy, just opposite the railway station, a relief after a long journey. Our room was quiet and had every facility. The breakfast room was gracious and very pleasant and there was a good array of food.. There's a pleasant area for other meals in the restaurant next door, and a varied menu. Plenty of other eating places if you want to go further into town. There is easy access to the town centre and to the river Rhine. where a pleasant footpath/cycleway runs by the water,

Reception lady was great . Friendly , very helpful and made us feel at ease . Rode our bikes to the front of the hotel and just wheeled them in to the lobby for safe keeping . Really nice to have an elevator for access to upper floors .On site Italian Restaurant was excellent with great service and with many food choices all at extremely reasonable price point . Breakfast was good with hot and cold food choices. Within 160m. of the train station Mainz Hbf yet quiet at night . Comfortable bed and very clean room and bathroom.

Really can’t think of a negative

The location was good close to the historical center but being close to the railways station, the "local fauna" was aligned with the location :-) but nothing dangerous. Parking at 5 euro per day was close to the hotel. room was spacious with high cealing, bathroom has been recently renovated. Breakfast was normal for a 3 star. Front desk was very nice and helpful.

Cleaning of the room was not very good. I would add some pastries or croissant to the breakfast.
