Our staying in Mainzer Hof occured to be a very pleasant experience. We had a spaceful room with the view over the panorama of Rhein river. Although it was the room with the window opening to the noisy street, it was quiet enough to sleep peacefuly. The level of cleanliness meets the highest standards. The staff is open, friendly and ready to help. The breakfast (not the cheapest one as it costs 15 euro per person, but with the range offer of products and drinks) is served on the highest floor with panoramic windows and beaufiful views over the river and old town. The location is also good - it's close to Hauptbanhof, as well as to the market of old town and the boat stops to take a cruise on the Rhein.

I would suggest to introduce 2 size of pillows - the one we had weren't very comfortable, as for us they were to big. It will be also nice to have tea and coffee equipment in the room, as well as the small fridge. Anyway - there is free tea and coffee and the ground floor. As for breakfast - I am vegetarian and it was ok to me, but as for vegans, there could be some products more.

Around 30 min train ride from Frankfurt, then 15 min walk from Mainz Hbf. Close to anything you might need - shops, cafes, markets. The room was cozy and warm in winter - you can regulate the heating according to your needs. The room was spacious ( including the bathroom) with a large bed and a small sofa. Toiletries, hair dryer - everything as necessary.

No fridge or kettle in the room - that would be a nice addition to the room. In general - a good hotel that meets all the needs for a short stay, but probably wouldn't recommend it for a longer period as it's missing some touches.

Some of the fourth floor rooms access a covered balcony overlooking the Rhein River and it is a magical view. The hotel has undergone extensive upgrades in the last few years and it remains one of our favorite hotels. Note: the breakfasts rival any anywhere! Excellent and helpful staff! The rooms are quiet unless windows are open.

Nothing really. Be advised that the rooms do not have mini-bars and the parking is off site, for pay, but nearby.

The hotel was located along the charming Rhein river park and the room was large, clean with very comfortable beds. The breakfast buffet on the top floor overlooking Mainz, was excellent with a generous abundant selection at an additional charge of 15EU. There was a reasonable parking garage across the street along the Rhein, or free on street overnight parking after 7 pm to 8am, otherwise an hourly meter charge.

Unfortunately it was very hot heat wave and they had no air conditioning. We couldn’t open windows for the cool evening because Mainz had a spider infestation and the outside windows were covered with cobwebs and big spiders. So we didn’t dare open windows and with no AC it made the room a sauna and we got very little sleep .

Very pleasent receptionist. Everything was fine, until we went to check out where we went for breakfast. What a view! The room would be worth picking for that alone, but then the quality of breakfast made it even better. I would go back here every time. There was a carpark around the corner.

The bathroom door was on the tight side when going in and out of the bathroom. I'd struggle to find anything at fault here.

The location, the place was by the river, a family relative lives nearby so it was pretty convenient from that aspect.

There was no option to pick, but I hoped for an actual couple mattress instead of 2 joined together, yet they were still alright and comfortable. Also the view was on the other side and not towards the river, but for the price this was all fair, clean and good 👍🏻, I'd definitely come back.

The staff was friendly, overall good value for money, the location of the hotel is relatively central and very close to the Rhein, most sightseeing spots are reachable by foot. Our room had a good size and was clean. I loved the breakfast room (the breakfast was good too), which had a great view over the river and the surrounding city.

I was a bit disappointed by the room location we got - which was on the ground floor next to a sort of inner courtyard, which was a little noisy at night. Considering that I chose the hotel primarily for the great location and advertised rooms with a view over the Rhein, that was a bit of a bummer.

Easy to find. Breakfast was very good,

No clothes washing nearby, no air conditioning in the room, hotel staff was not very helpful (mis-directed us to restaurants, didn’t know when or where the Rhein river cruise embarked). The towels were small, hard, and scratchy. Only one hand towel.

We could see the river from our room. There is a big street between the hotel and the river, but when the windows are closed you cannot hear any noise from there. The location is great. The hotel is close to nice river sites, the "Christuskirche" and the city center and cathedral are in walking distance.

The last check-out time was a bit early compared to the earliest check-in time. However, there's nothing we did not like. I cannot remember anything important to complain about.

The hotel is situated right on the promenade and really close (10 minutes walking distance) to the city centrum. We were even able to find a parking space on the boulevard next to it. The room was clean and spacious.

No internet connection at all in the room - definitely it's a general problem as another guest was contemplating about the same when we arrived. The curtain of the shower cabin was all the time sticking to my wet back - it was pretty annoying. Better solution is needed to keep the water out of the cabin!
