reception, not very welcome feeling (unfortunately)

Took up a low priced upgrade to a suite, which gave us an L-shape with 3 living spaces + bathroom. On tram routes connected to main station. Although room was on corner above the main road, traffic noise not heard, so soundproofing must be good. Breakfast reasonable for this type of hotel - plenty of choice. Sustainability actions visible. Plenty of storage space.

Only 2 lifts, and stairs were well away from them. This meant more time than expected waiting for lifts to arrive. Restaurant was closed for the weekend we stayed - this had not been clear when we booked. Not much alternative in the local neighbourhood, so meant about a mile walk into the city centre (or a 3 euro tram ride each).

this is more a "business" hotel than for tourists, BUT I would highly recommend it for visitors. Location while not in the central core is great (especially if you are driving) and on both tram and bus routes (abouit 10 minutes to city core) and close enough to walk - about 20 minutes. Our room was spacious, well lit, good use of space, absolutely clean, with a comfortable bed. I would recommend getting a day transit pass (machine at the transit stop in front - offers both German and English), and explore. No 5 tram will take you to Heidelberg certainly worth a visit, as is travelling to Speyer. Mannheim is a great smaller city not over run by tourists where a visitor can appreciate how the locals live. Highly recommended city and hotel!

Excellent breakfast, lots of choice, and everything was still available until 10:00. Staff even reminded us that it's 10:00 and it would be the last time to get something from the buffet. Very friendly staff. Had a water bowl and bed prepared for my dog. I really liked the duvet, warm, but not to warm and kinda heavy.

We were just passing through Mannheim on our way home and the hotel is close the the high way, and that was great for us. The overall area seems more like a industry / business area and the area the hotel was in wasn't very nice.

The NH Hotel in Mannheim is excellent. There are three guest lifts. My room was comfortable, spacious and bright. The bed and the pillows are not too soft and not too hard. The floor is clean and bright - not too dark. Everything seems new and clean. The bathroom fittings and shower products are excellent. There is even a full-size mirror in the room. The wardrobe is spacious with normal coat hangers. There is a kettle and a lovely coffee machine in the room. There is also a desk and all the Internet attachments. The wi-fi connection is strong and stable. The room is warm and quiet but you should close the window because of the trams and other traffic outside - at least you do not hear the neighbors. There are no funny smells in the room. There is no music in the breakfast room, which is great. The staff are polite, friendly and efficient.

I did not like the mini bar. I generally try to ignore mini bars as a minor annoyance. But this hotel does not let you ignore the mini bar: you have to pay EUR 25 deposit on the contents. Very strange.

Easy to get to from motorway, ample parking with direct access to hotel. Reception staff professional and efficient, bar staff friendly and efficient. The onsite bar was stylish (as was the hotel) with pleasing soft furnishings and colour palette. Wine list on the expensive side (but good quality) and did not try any of the bar food, or breakfast, which at €19.50pp seemed expensive (given the prices of local restaurants). Small touches like water in reception. The room was bright and spacious, with plenty of storage and cupboard space, a mini fridge, good lighting. Bathroom also spacious with full size amenities including proper hairdryer. Towels quite worn and grey, but other than that a very good standard of hotel and would recommend.

The only small niggle was the A/C- heating. It was impossible to change the temperature, which seemed fixed at 23. Luckily the window opened, but that meant we had disturbed sleep (too hot/too cold) and woke with stiff necks. The parking was expensive at €18 per night, given it was not covered and the towels could definitely do with renewing!

Room was very nice, bed comfortable. Location was great for the SAP Arena. Great that u can use the strassenbahn to get there. Breakfast buffet had a good selection and provided alternative milk option and thankfully not just soya milk. A real plus !!

Only one barman working in hotel bar on return from the event so resulted in queue. No non alcoholic beer available. No draft beer all bottles. Hot buffet side of breakfast was luke warm not hot, which spoilt an otherwise great breakfast selection. Fire alarm went off throughout hotel telling you to evacuate room. We responded as if it was a real fire and left the building by the nearest exit, only to find out that it was just a practice. It would have been nice to have been warned of thus in advance.

The rooms are very cozy and the staff is very kind. The breakfast is fantastic. All options that you can ever imagine. It's not my case, but there is plenty of information about allergic food. The bed is very comfortable and the Hotel offers a nice bar with many options of drink

I don't consider this as a complaint, but I didn't manage to cool down the temperature inside the room. Possibly due to the public holidays, the hotel was under staffed, so it took some time to make the check in and the check out.

The room was clean and quiet. The shower gel was of a fragrance I would like to purchase ;o) I had an excellent shrimp salad for dinner one night, and the veggies and the shrimp were fresh, and the salad dressing was light and seasoned just right. I really liked the aesthetics and ambiance of the hotel. The exterior dark brown brick gives an elegant touch to the building. Finally, the staff was friendly. Overall, the warm exterior color was reflected inside as well.

Parking...but it wasn't a deal breaker, because Aral gas station was right next door, so gassing up was convenient.

excellent location! SAP Arena, city center- everything is close to hotel! We had tickets to concert in SAP Arena, and young man in reception explained us all the possibilities how to get there, even that we had free tram tickets included in ours concert tickets! We didn’t knew this and young man at reception (pitty, I dont asked his name) was very kind and friendly and told us about it! Friendly staff, clean, comfortable hotel!
