nice and clean room, clean and spacious bathroom. Good atmosphere, friendly staff - especially behind the bar. Possibility to book car park in advance made our trip little bit easier. I need to say it was one of better hotels I had a chance to stay in Germany

lady who was serving breakfast didn’t speak English, and that’s fine, but for some reason she decided to talk to me full German knowing very well that I’m not a german speaker. what was the point? I got impression she deliberately made me feel awkward for not speaking German. and yes, I know we are in Germany but that’s not the customer service I would expect from good hotel situated in Munich city centre, visited by a lot of foreign tourists every year

Hotel Deutsche Eiche was in a great location, just minutes from the Altstadt (Old Town) area of Munich. The room was of a good size and well-appointed. There is a lot of LGBT history shown throughout, which was lovely and welcoming my husband and I. We had breakfast in the restaurant and it had a great balance and service. While there was a minor setback (see below), we still felt the overall experience there was wonderful.

I booked a Sunday night on Booking.com for $350. I went to the front desk the Monday morning to add on another night. There was availability and I was quoted about $170, so I agreed to the second night. I figured it was considerably less due to being a weekday. However, upon check-out Tuesday morning, there was a balance due of $391 (the first night had already been paid). I was quite taken aback by this, since it was the same individual and I certainly wouldn't have agreed to another night for that amount. He eventually conceded to make it right and said he'd charge me $180. Perhaps this was some sort of mistake, but it's something to keep an eye on.

I liked the location and its proximity to many restaurants, bars, the river, and public transportation. The ROOM was GREAT, with a large , very clean ,comfortable bed. The room had everything anyone could need complete with a large, well lighted, and appointed bathroom , serving up a good size shower with plenty of hot water and very clean towels, even including wash cloths. There is a mini refrigerator with COMPLIMENTARY BEVERAGES! We were given two coupons for complimentary Proseco in the rooftop lounge or the ground floor restaurant, which has sensational food . We opted for the breakfast buffet, which was hot and delicious with a great assortment of good quality food.

We missed a coffee station available 24/7 or a coffee machine in the room.

Great location, just a little off the beaten path in terms of the old city. I thought the room was spacious and the offerings from the hotel were generous (mini bar, free). The restaurant was good and the rooftop bar had a great view of the city. We were offered a free glass of wine on the rooftop as we checked in. The staff were all excellent to work with and all spoke English (as well as other languages).

Unfortunately due to the extreme heat conditions, the air conditioning in our room started leaking water overnight and caused us to lose a few hours of sleep and then of course having to turn off the air conditioner for the rest of the night.

Free welcome drink + free mini bar in room Nice shower. Restaurant looked lovely but didn't have a chance to use it. Location was quite good for the price paid.

Single bed and sloping ceilings. I'm 6 ft 3' / 191 cm. No door on bathroom.

The Deutsche Eiche is a fabulous place to stay. The rooms are very clean with comfy beds, a glorious hot shower, and a mini-fridge with cold drinks. The breakfast is ample and delicious. And most importantly, the staff are just wonderful. Every single person we interacted with at the Deutsche Eiche - the front desk receptionists, the breakfast servers, the room cleaners - went out of the way to be kind, friendly, and accommodating. This is what makes this hotel not just very good, but exceptional. Thank you, Deutsche Eiche, for making our stay so lovely!

Everything was fabulous - we have no complaints at all.

The location is excellent- a few minutes walk from all the major sites, but in a quiet area with nice shops and bars. Room was comfortable, good quality bed and powerful shower. Quiet room.

The hotel has a lovely roof terrace bar, but it was closed to guests on two evenings of my four night stay, and was closed early on the third because it was raining (it is completely covered !) Ok make more profit by having corporate clients but that should be the exception or don’t advertise it to your paying guests. Breakfast was a bit prescriptive- needs to be more tailored without incurring extra cost on an already substantial 18euros.

Fantastic property! Great location, amazing staff, all so friendly which is rare in Europe. Nothing is too much trouble. Room was great (air con, comfy beds, black-out blinds, mini bar stocked with complimentary items). The restaurant at the bottom of the hotel is always buzzing and very easygoing, friendly, well priced and good food. Excellent location in Munich, walking distance to everything. Our favourite accommodation in Europe so far :-)

Not a bad thing but the location you park your car is 10 minutes walk away so keep this in mind :-) Not a problem for us at all though and they gave us a printed map.

Location near marienplatz and greeter at reception were excellent. Attempted to help us find most affordable parking once we picked up our rental car mid-stay. With some advance notice, they have four spaces at nearby lot. Complimentary beer and water each day and a rooftop bar. Beds a bit firm but that is good for me.

Rooftop bar closed early it seemed. Maybe 10pm as we were turned back at 9:50pm. Nothing to do with the hotel but if you come to hotel from airport on sbahn with a lot of luggage, it could be easier if just a little longer to drag them from marienplatz versus isator stop which had no working escalators (at least two were there but not functional) to get all luggage to street level.

This hotel is amazing in so many ways. The room size is more than ample, the bed is large and comfortable, there is a COMPLIMENTARY mini fridge ( yes, the contents are free) , we received a card for a complimentary glass of Prosecco in either the roof top lounge or the ground floor restaurant ( PS the restaurants food is superb and the breakfast is plentiful with great selection of good quality food. The linens are very clean, and they even give you wash cloths! The shower is large with no step and has great water pressure with plenty of hot water. Very good wifi reception as well. We were given a room upgrade ,which included a small balcony, which was lovely . I highly recommend this hotel when in Munich. The LOCATION is very good, walking distance to all in town historical sites, shopping district, riverfront, grocery stores and trams as well as buses.

I can not say I disliked anything. However , I would suggest having a coffee station in the room or simply one station available to all guests 24/7.
