Facilities and prices are great, the swimming pool and wellness area is great.

Lighting was too dim in the room, sauna is out of order, and the night shift staff are not as helpful as their day-shift colleagues. For instance I was made to wait at a line of check-in just to ask for bottled waters when there is visibly another member of staff that is available, which later helped other guests (which had cut the line) to check in, while i waited for more than 10 minutes for a question that could be answered in 10 seconds.

I loved everything about my stay! The staff was really friendly, the place is newly renovated and I love the co-working style set-up! Amazing workstations with plugs everywhere conveniently placed. Additionally, the staff took note and ensured I could drink my morning coffee just the way I liked it at no ridiculous add-on charge, which was massively appreciated! Hotels should totally do like a "coffee-only" room add-on. I'd pay for that as many people just don't eat breakfast or want to get it in town or find €24 a little overkill for breakfast. Although I must say, their waffle machines tempted me every morning :). Another thing I massively appreciated is that they respected my choice to continue to speak in English despite my passport being a German one. (Yes, I've had other hotels try to "force" me to speak in German due to my passport...). Thank you! Vielen Dank, for allowing me the right to choose to speak the language I feel most comfortable with speaking by now, without questions or judgment. When I need to visit again, I will be back! No doubt, I will stay at THIS Hotel.

The bar staffing in the lobby seemed a little arbitrary as you had to go to reception every time you wanted to use it. Better opening hours would be helpful as I watched lots of customers try to order things but then not bother because they didn't want to get up and ask at reception. I am generally not a fan of "paid spa's". I appreciate that this one was at least only €10 extra, but I would have preferred it if it was included. Note: The pool was freezing (don't think it's a heated pool) but the incredibly beautifully hot saunas made up for it! Another note: I wish Hotels would stop laying carpet in the hallways.... it's so much harder to push heavy luggage on the carpet. Guessing that's a cost thing...

I loved the clean, professional, helpful attitude of the staff. The rooms were so comfortable (we had the family room) and it was wonderful! The breakfast was the best I have ever had anywhere in my entire life. They had that day a roasted pumpkin, garlic and veggie dish with cheese and I tell you I’ve never experienced those exceptional flavors in my life. I am going to go back just for the breakfast. Location is great too. Just cross the main road and you’re in the best part of Nuremberg! The gym is so incredible!!! I wish every hotel had a gym like this one. This whole hotel is phenomenal.

Perhaps the most satisfying and lovely hotel buffet breakfast I’ve ever experienced — in any part of the world. But really, the outstanding breakfast was just “icing” on top of the already impressive “cake.” When we first arrived, we were delighted to find that the staff, the main lobby, and especially our room, were feasts for the senses. The location is also superb, as the hotel is located in close proximity to the train station and Nuremberg’s walled old city. Our stay was beyond pleasant — it was truly the best hotel experience we had during our three-week tour of Germany.

Location: superb, 3 mins to train station but far enough away from trouble there (although noise in the night if you leave the window open, which is not necessary since efficient aircon) Location (2): right across the moat from the old city, 10 mins walk to the river with uncountable number of restaurants and cafes Room: could be an older property but impeccably maintained, all new, super clean, bed big and comfy, very niece e cushions Breakfast: the usual battleground, good, complete, there is jut nothing missing there except maybe for Asian tourists their preferred food Staff: very friendly from check-in to heck out, accommodated extra requests with no fuss and promptly Parking: safe and clean under hotel and at 22 Euro for 24 hours not cheap but worth there money for convenience and safety (direct access from hotel)

Excellent location. Nice atmosphere in the common areas. The staff was super friendly. Good variety of food on the breakfast buffet. Our kids loved the pool. Parking was very convenient and spacious enough for SUVs.

The hotel name was nowhere to be seen. I had to ask a hotel guest if I actually was in the hotel Pomander before I checked in. The hotel rooms were not bright enough for my liking. Too somber. I was missing a bright lamp. Housekeeping was probably understaffed. Nothing seriously wrong, just little things which I thought shouldn’t have been missed.

Definitely the comfort and location! The hotel is less than 5min walk to the main station and Operahaus. Facing the old town on the other side of the road, in a short stroll you reach the old town. In 20-25min you are at Nuremberg airport, it is amazing! Spotless cleaning, modern design common areas, with a large parking area. The room was spacious, modern design and super comfortable. The bed was a dream! The shower was fantastic! And the products available from toiletries to tea quality was high. We have booked this hotel due to its spa facilities. The access to the pool/sauna was not included on the fare (we paid 10€ extra per person). The area was very comfortable, the pool was spacious and the two saunas were great. Ladies in reception were very welcoming and helpful. One of us was traveling by bike, and they facilitate for it to be stored safely on the garage. Thank you! The entire hotel was super clean and everything immaculately on its place all times, great housekeeping team! Great value for money! It was a lovely stay, and if returning to Nuremberg, no doubt I will stay there again.

Overall there was nothing really wrong with our stay. We were looking for a comfortable place to stay, and Scandic was exactly that! The only thing perhaps could be done is having a bit more information about the spa schedules/timings on the room or at the spa. The saunas seems to get turn down every few hours, and we had to go to reception with our swimming suit on to enquire (as the pool phone did not work). The room phone also didn't seem to work. The pool contrary to what we thought was cold (as we did sauna, it was fine, but I guess there could be some information on the hotel description about this). So, nothing major, it was the best value for money accommodation we stayed in Germany, so definitely recommend it.

The desk staff were super chill and helpful, the room was very comfortable, well-appointed and spacious, ensuite was really nice. Hair dryer, iron and ironing board were provided, as was a kettle, mini fridge, laptop safe, etc. The decor and general feel of the room was very agreeable. There's a basement fitness suite with sauna and swimming pool, charged at a (very reasonable) one off extra cost per per stay. Everything was immaculately clean. The hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere, and generous check in and check out times. I didn't try the swimming pool as I didn't have bathing trunks, but it looked lovely. I stayed only one night, after a relaxation day following a week on business in Nürnberg. The moment I checked in, I wished I'd stayed at the Scandic the whole week, and it will be my first choice in future. Already recommended to colleagues. Minor niggles include that breakfast is not included in the room price (and is priced a little on the high side, I felt). I opted to get breakfast out and about, so I can't speak for its quality. However, if the hotel in general is any indication, I would expect the breakfast to be both excellent, and good value for money. The sauna temperature and humidity regulation seemed pretty random! Obviously, overall price is a factor, but for the amount I paid for a decent double room, the Scandic met or exceeded my expectations in every respect, indeed it genuinely delighted me. A truly relaxing, stress-free place to stay, I can't recommend it highly enough.

Any minor niggles I had would not even slightly put me off staying at the Scandic.

Exceptional, comfortable and impressive hotel in a good location with own underground car park, €22 per night. The staff were wonderful as was breakfast, probably the best hotel breakfast we’ve had for a very long time. The (smallish) pool and sauna complex were a delightful addition for a keen leisure swimmer like me and there’s a fitness centre/gym that I didn’t try. The rooms are spacious, beds comfortable and with lovely modern bathrooms. There was no external noise at night despite being next to the road and facing the town. Common areas are well designed and clean.

A little too expensive perhaps, over €300 per night, but there was a big conference in town when we were there and prices were hiked. Probably better value in a quieter week, but you do get a luxury experience any time.

Room was spacious and beautiful. Breakfast fantastic. So much choice. Top quality. Hotel great position. Five minutes from train station / Underground. Very modern, very clean, friendly staff.

Hard to criticise anything really. But the lights in the junior suite were too dim. The mirrors are tinted and you cannot see in them properly. The rugs need fitting at edges, as a few time we both tripped on them. The mini fridge only had two bottles of water, and no beers, spirits or soft drinks. There was no welcome pack, explaining nothing. The air conditioning very complicated to understand. Could have done with some simple instructions.
