We arrived late due to traffic. There was no staff available, but the key waited for us in the reception. The restaurant below the property was open so we could sit down with a drink on the terrace. Breakfast was good. Lots of fresh choices. As the weather was good, we could sit outside during breakfast. Check-out was easy. Very quiet location.

Other guests were smoking on their balcony and on the terrace. This floated into our room. Even during the night, someone very addicted was smoking outside, waking us up because the smoke ended up in our room. We do realise that this depends on other guests, but it bothered us as non smokers. Other than that, it was a great place to stay!

Everything at Haus am See is super smart: clean, modern and stylish. Even the mundane items like the doors and stairs are pristine. The location is pleasant enough, up a residential road away from the centre of Sinzheim, but across the road is a small lake with a large fountain which is a point of interest, and being away from the main road does mean that it's very peaceful at night.

We were there on a Monday and the restaurant wasn't open. So we walked down into Sinzheim (a 15 - 20 minute walk) and ate at the Turnerstube, which, as it turned out, was very good. We'd have preferred to eat on the terrace at the hotel, but things worked out OK. Luckily the weather was good and there was an attractive sunset (it was June) for our walk up the hill back to the hotel.

Quiet location, pretty straightforward self check-in process, clean room, good complete breakfast.

Our room on the corner was next to a fairly creaky noisy staircase that everyone used to go down to breakfast. Conversations also easily got through that wall. It meant an early start to the day, whether that was wanted or not.

We arrived early at 14:00 and were able to check-in easily and quickly with a code sent to us by email. The rooms are in a modern house at the top end of the village in a quiet area next to the countryside and a lovely walk to the nearby Mariengrotte and vineyards. We didn't find the lake (See) though. There is a restaurant on the ground floor with tables in the garden. Parking is directly in front of the building. We had a standard double room with a balcony at the back of the house which was very welcome as it was a hot day and we were able to sit outside and enjoy the view and the picnic we brought with us. In common with most B&Bs in Germany, there was no tea/coffee making facility in the room. There was only one chair by the desk. The room was very clean with a big very comfortable bed and an excellent shower room. Apart from offering us almond milk, breakfast was poor for us vegans, unfortunately.

We didn't like the carpet in the room as carpets are unhygienic, there was some excellent hard flooring in other parts of the property which would have been so much better in the rooms too. Breakfast.

Clean, modern, attractive. Our room had a stag’s head theme, suited to the forest area. Breakfast was nice. All the staff speak German so brush up! The balcony was very large, the bathroom had a skylight.

No facility to make a hot drink in the room, was the main issue, especially as the restaurant was closed.

Clean, spacious and comfortable room. Breakfast was good.

We spent most of the day rushing to arrive before the check-in deadline of 18.00. It turned out there was an access code which we had been sent on booking (months ago) but this wasn’t mentioned in all the booking.com reminders. Also - we would have liked a plug in the sink in the bathroom.

Nice hotel next to the highway/autobahn. Within 10 minutes you have reached the hotel which is located in a nice and quiet area. The beds were very comfortable and everything was nice and clean. Breakfast was nice, not too much, but enough choice.

We've loved the place, it's in a beautiful and quiet location. The room was lovely and very clean with an amazing bathroom! There is plenty of safe parking for motorbikes, and the food at the restaurant was delicious. Highly recommend! 😀

1. Unfortunately there was no water boiler in the standard double room and we had to explicitly ask for hot water in the restaurant downstairs to make tea. 2. There was no refrigerator in the standard double room. 3. Booking.com showed pictures of a bathtub while booking, but the standard double room has no bathtub, instead there is a shower.

This place was a little out of town but we didn't mind that at all. The room was fantastic and the best by far that we had on our trip. Staff were very nice and attentive. A fridge was near the breakfast area with bottles of lovely local wine to purchase. Breakfast was excellent. Bathroom was huge and futuristic.
