Perfect location, near the old castle and oldtown itself. Within the old town, you can walk it and no need for a car. The superior room was way nicer and a big difference from the economy, worth the extra money. Great size balcony with table and chairs.

It could be cleaner as there where dust on the bed cabins, floors also since is so old there is some sort of mold smell, curtains are dusty - not recommended if you are allergic. There were no shower curtains so it was a bit difficult to bathe without flooding everything. The nightclub is just around the corner so it's great if you like to go to it but there were nights when it was super loud outside during the night, also everyone pissing in the alleys and so on..

The staff here is incredible! The man at the front desk was one of the nicest I've ever had at a hotel. Friendly, easy to talk to, very helpful in terms of local intel and also with bringing up our luggage all the way to the room (there are several steps to the stop floor). The suite itself was spacious and thankfully the air conditioning worked really well to keep things cool. The balcony was also nice and the location is great. The pool area is small, but we always made it work, the water is very refreshing. The cleaning staff is also very nice and helpful and they do a very good job, always leaving little towel animals haha I also forgot my passport and cash in the safe after we left and the aforementioned employee went out of his way to arrange for the items to be returned to me in the next city. Really incredible customer service that's worth a lot these days!

The hotel is full of character and charm, the bedrooms are decorated very nicely. The lighting in the bedrooms is very romantic and relaxing. Good aircon in the room and a fridge. The hotel is very central to everything, excellent location. Lovely balcony, everything you need in the bathroom, including lovely olive oil products for showering. The staff are very friendly and kind, they can't do enough for you. Rooms are clean and well maintained by cleaning staff.

We were on the top floor and this meant climbing 54 steps in very hot and humid weather, it was hard going and we're young! Older guests would definitely struggle with this. There was no kettle in the room to make a cup of tea - a must have for British guests :) Breakfast wasn't great for us as we are vegan - the only thing we could have was toast and jam, so we did regret paying for breakfast as we didn't get our moneys worth for it. Everything was dairy and meat based. The pool is very small and if there are already two guests in it, you can't necessarily get in without it being awkward. Our room did have a strong drain smell in it most days, which was hard to deal with.

Friendly, clean, beautiful building inside and out. Breakfast was delicious. Great location.

No kettle or tea/coffee facilities in the rooms unless you have breakfast and that didn’t work for me so well as I love tea really early in bed. We were away with friends and had booked 2 rooms; one was a standard room and the other one was dearer. The room we slept in for the first night was up stairs and dearer. This was a bit too noisy as you could hear the base of music and it did go on till 5 am so we swapped with our friends and had the standard room which was down stairs and perfect.

The staff was super welcoming and helpful with getting us taxis and recommending us restaurants in the area. The location is perfect right in the middle of the old town, and the room was so spacious and comfortable. We stayed in the Leonidas room. The value for money is excellent.

The pool was maybe a little smaller than anticipated, but good for a dip to cool down. Also, there are a lot of stairs, which wasn't a problem for us (also the staff was very helpful in carrying our bags), but it might be good to know for some people.

It was an amazing stay and the stuff was really helpful and pleasant, I can only praise them. Room was clean, cozy and bed was very comfortable with variety of pillows. Bathroom was spacious and clean with nice amenities. We loved the location and that was the main reason to choose this hotel. We arrived with car for only one night and it was cruical to have parking lots nearby so we can easily sleep over, have a nice morning stroll around the center and move to our next destination.

Everything was as described. We are not picky guests.

Hotel in the heart of Rethymno - all that You need (shops, restaurants, beach, parking, nightlife) in a 5-10 minute walk. And what a cozy balcony we had with a view of the street.

If You go by car, plan, that the nearest parking is in port and costs approximately 15 EUR per day. You can try to find parking by the streets, but it will not be easy. It is not disadvantage, it is normal if You plan to stay in the center of Rethymno. :)

I loved this beautiful hotel! It was so quirky and had everything my friend and I could possibly need. The staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The man who greeted us and assisted with check in was particularly helpful and helped us with our luggage, before giving us some wonderful food recommendations (thank you so much for this!!!). The location is fantastic and we both really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Wonderful location and very comfortable room. The breakfast was very good and we really enjoyed spending time in the common areas by the pool and sitting rooms. Lovely location and ambiance with excellent staff.

I would have liked a kettle in the room to make tea. The installed hairdryer was from the 1960's and the staff happily and promptly provided a modern one when requested.

The staff was the nicest most accomodating anyone can ask for. Extremely helpful and kind. The breakfast was amazing, lots to choose from and plenty to eat.

I knew there were stairs just not quite so many. Also we were there when it was really warm and hallways are not air conditioned (totally expected since an antique home) so the stairs sometimes would be tough at end of day , but our bags were brought up and down by the staff so not a deal breaker just something to be aware of. Also only hand held showers, probably my American laziness, but I like to stand under a shower.
