Our 6th visit now. We always try to stay here for a few nights on our car journey from the UK to our house in Crete, and we love it here in this welcoming family run hotel. It is a beautiful place in a lovely tranquil setting overlooking the sea, but only 20 minutes down the coast from the port of Patras. Rooms are simply furnished but with everything you need. Our room this time was a ground floor garden room with a lovely terrace on which to catch the afternoon sun. The hotel was operating on a bed and breakfast (delicious breakfasts!) basis at the time we visited (late March) but we can highly recommend the restaurant here for other seasons. The food is a big draw here and really delicious and fresh. Maria & Spyros go out of their way to make your visit special in every way. Many considerations were extended to us during our stay this time that were beyond what we would have expected. We hope to be back again soon!

We liked everything - except having to leave!

Our 7th visit, which speaks for itself - this time a short stopover (wish it could be longer) on our way back from Crete to the UK. Being greeted by Spyros & Maria felt like the welcome of old friends - and we do feel so "at home" here. Everywhere was as clean and well-tended as it always is, inside and out. Garden areas are gorgeous - beautifully planted, stylishly tiled, and, here and there, quirky ornamentation that makes you smile. Inside the hotel's public areas, you will also see amusing decorative items although the bedrooms themselves are plain, but super-clean, comfortable and with everything you need. We had a lovely terrace overlooking the very attractive garden that leads you from the parking into the reception area. The dining area is perfect - filled with green plants and a charming water feature, and overlooking the sea. The food here is sublime, especially the fresh fish (as available) and the wonderful salads that have made us completely re-think how to make our own salads back at home! Lovely regional wines too. A shout-out here for the amazing Pano! For his first class table service, his friendliness, his superb English (we were privileged to meet the lady who taught him). Pano - if you come to the UK and need a base, you will be most welcome at our house. We missed Violette this time, sadly - if you have room in your luggage do buy a jar of her delicious honey to take back with you. We love everything about Castella Beach. It's a slice of Heaven! Thank you to every single person who works here and who makes it the truly special place that it is. We can't wait to come back!

We loved everything except having to leave.

We are couple, traveling full time. We value good service/excellent location/comfortable furniture and good wifi. This hotel is as advertised. Our room was one long flight of spiral stairs up. (hosts had told us this and it was ok, as someone helped with luggage). Bed was very comfortable, with a cushion top and extra pillows as requested. Nice view of the sea from our window. Bathroom was spacious and had glass doors on shower, along with toiletries. Water pressure was good. Wifi was excellent, strong speed with no drops. Breakfast was average - a couple choices for protein and assorted pastries. We were only there overnight so didn't use other amenities. There are beach umbrellas and a rocky beach right below the restaurant.

Everything was good.

This is a lovely family run hotel, everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and spotlessly clean, our room had a small but modern bathroom, air con and sea view. The breakfast is lovely as is the restaurant in the evening. It was so good that we left where we were staying the next night to go back for another meal here. It is situated right on the sea and is really lovely. We have stayed once before and will definitely be back here again Plenty of room for parking too.

We stay here a couple of days every year on our journey from the UK to Crete and our trip wouldn't be the same if we didn't. Spriros and Maria are most welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are simply furnished but with everything you need, and ours had a lovely balcony overlooking the garden, with chairs and table and somewhere to hang wet clothes. We love to be here in this comfortable and relaxing hotel with its beautiful garden areas and terraces filled with amphorae of colourful flowers, and the sound of the sea in the background. The family dog and cat add to the feeling of homeliness. Lovely outside eating areas during good weather and the food served here is wonderful. Beautifully cooked fish and even a simple tomato and cucumber salad elevated to something so much more special with the addition of crisp green pepper slices, nutty capers (nothing like the wizened vinegary ones in jars we get in the UK), and plump Kalamata olives. The local wines are well worth trying too. We feel a real sense of wellbeing here. Wished we could have stayed a few more days!

We liked everything.

Plenty of parking at Hotel. Bus Stop close by. 25 mins. drive to Patras. Breakfast Buffet style with Greek style foodstuffs and Eggs and Bacon and Omlettes. There are also a couple of Toasters. Beach is right at the property down some stairs and although there are small pebbles, once you got into the Sea, it was beautiful Sand. The beach would be good for children and the elderly as it isn't deep straight away; it is a gradual slope. The water is very clear. The Sunbeds were wooden and very comfortable with umbrellas. There is Service for drinks/snacks on the Beach. Our Double room was a good size, tastefully decorated, modern, furnished balcony, great shower, plenty of hot water and plenty of wardrobe/cupboard space for unpacking. What we liked the most is the warmth and friendliness of the family running this establishment. Nothing was too much trouble and the service was fast. We highly recommend this great Hotel! See you next year... Our deepest thanks to Maria, Spiros, Eleni, Violetta and the rest of the Team. Julie & Steve

Everything was to our personal taste and we wouldn't change a thing.

The bed was comfortable. The personal was nice.

If I need to say somenthing the room is little if you need stay a lot of days but is comfortable. Some chair of the balcony need to change. I can not say anything about breakfast because I did not reserve this. But the dinner in the restaurant is good. The cesar.s salad is the best that I ever meet.I recomend this.

The hotel was the only one with a restaurant open and not much else nearby. Luckily it was a nice one. They offered sun loungers that you could use for free. The balcony view was really good, with views of the coastline and sea. The manager advised us to visit a national park with a beach as it would be less windy and it was fantastic. A huge beach with soft white sand and two tavernas.

The location was rather remote so nowhere to walk to.

The hotel was excellent. Staff lovely and the food was delicious. Top spot for a chilled stay. Truly enjoyed the view from room and the tavern at hotel. Beds were comfortable and would love to enjoy a quiet stay here again.

The beach isn’t so good in afternoon. Water gets choppy, murky with lots of seaweed and stuff. Got stung by jellyfish within 5 minutes of being in water. Not much around to visit or shop but perfect if just lounging by beach on a sun bed.
