Cotton House Budapest

The service of the man at reception, really friendly and they put sparkling wine and glasses as a bonus because it was our anniversary free of charge.

The jets from the jacuzzi could have been cleaned out. Lots of limescale and bits came out into the bath.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We checked out before breakfast on our last day, so they ordered our taxi and packed us a takeaway breakfast. The room was newly redecorated so clean and the bed was very comfortable. Everywhere was walkable from the hotel, although it is situated on quite a quiet street.

Very minor details, no drink facilities in the room (there is a mini bar), for a four day stay it would have been nice to make our own drink. There was only one socket in the room, so irritating when trying to charge multiple devices These are small things though, and we would definitely recommend and stay again.

This experience was something special. Like a trip to the past, to the beginning of the last century, to a time of prosperity and new opportunities. Unfortunately, the Cotton club in the basement is not working. Too bad, because it would have been a perfect experience. Our stay in the Exclusive Suite was really pleasant. The room is nicely decorated, the bed is suitable, the bathroom is nice, the bathtub is excellent. Breakfast is served in a beautiful dining room, but there is no premium offer here. It is a classic breakfast. I have to compliment the nice girl behind the reception desk, she really went out of her way to make our stay perfect.

Breakfast could be better. Give the hotel a soul. Add a bartender to the bar and live music to the club.

The hotel is beautiful, the personnel were nice, the breakfast is good and, by request, they even gave us something to take with us the last morning since we left before the breakfast hours. Cotton has left a great impression about Budapest and their people.

Although the bathroom is apparently sanitized for every booking, we noticed that it was not neat...some stains and dust were left over. Maybe unluckily, but our safebox did not work. We could cope without it...but if it is offered, it would be nice to have it usable.

*Amazing location - 2 minutes from tram and train station, 5-10 from metro station, many restaurants and bars near the hotel. *great staff- super nice and friendly, always welcoming and helpful. nice food - tasty and simple.

*The room is cleaned only after 2/3 days of staying three, and after that only cleaned if someone else in the hotel checked out(and then it's usually just setting up the bed and maybe replacing towels)., when they did clean they cleaned and came around 4/5 pm. *Ameneties - the room came with 2 small bottles of soap, 2 rolls of toilet paper, and an open kit of ear cleaners and make up pads - not fun. Also soaps were not replenished every day, we had to ask each day for more until they cleaned the room.. *Breakfast has a small variety of food, but it is worth the price. *The cable TV connection was spotty, only channels working were local Hungarian - not really bad but be advised.

In our room some of the furniture handles were damaged and the pillows could have been better. No facility to make a hot drink and in a suite I would expect a little more The room really could do with a shower but that is a personal preference for myself and my wife

Cotton House is the perfect stay in Budapest! A small boutique style hotel with charm and elegance - with a budget price. The breakfast was top notch, and a takeaway breakfast was prepared for a 7:30 AM check out. It is an easy walk to Nyugati Station and within walking distance of Buda Castle area and Fisherman Bastion. The staff were welcoming and quick to assist where needed. Loved my stay!

The atmosphere of this hotel is amazing. Very historical and cozy. We enjoyed our stay very much and the breakfast was really good as well. The breakfast is served in a restaurant which is very spacious so you can start your day in peaceful environment. The staff was really friendly, too. Also, the fridge in the hotel room was really efficient. We bought sparkling wine and it was cold very quickly.

Staff were very nice and welcoming.

The receptionist told us that it is better to place us in a room in the internal court because on the side of the road it is too noisy. Unfortunately at the second floor at the corner of the building it was very noisy. People were talking for hours in the stairwell from the other building and their door was open even with our closed window we heard everything because it was like a mattress was put against the wall and behind it was a condemned door leading to the staircase of the other building !!! On the 1st floor there is also a cringy scene in an alcove that is not lighted it can be frightening.

The staff were great- specifically the female day receptionist (we did not catch her name). Nothing was too much trouble and she booked excursions for us as well being attentive to our requests. We liked the decor, the history of the building and the breakfast.

The double bed was 2 single mattresses which limits comfort for a couple. The room was on the small side and the wallpaper had seen better days/coming away from the wall.
